Just come across your channel and blown away with this - Great stuff
Nice nice - so glad you found us..! 🙌
Why does the voiceover give me an "uncanny valley" feeling? Was there some weird processing done? Or is this AI? Just bought this and Utility Boost for the crazy sale price and was excited to dive in with these tutorials but the VO makes me uncomfortable, I can't quite put my finger on why. Is there a written version (outside of the included PDFs) perhaps? Thanks!
Hi there! The voiceover is simply pitched down 2 semitones, that's all - no AI here! But thanks for this feedback, it's interesting to hear. You'll find some other Mod Squad Pro tips & tricks peppered throughout our livestreams (which have no VO re-pitching) - but unfortunately nothing consolidated or focused entirely on Mod Squad Pro like this video. Maybe you could try enabling captions here?
Good stuff again, thanks for the inspiration and inspirational devices! Have a good, inspiring an loving 2025! 🎆
Cheers @kozepz - wishing you the best possible year ahead!!! 🌟
On my ever growing wish list!!
I love watching you work!! I'm an enthusiastic beginner and found this fascinating to watch. I'll have to save up some pennies and buy some of your amazing devices to play with and see what I can come up with. I feel confident that even I could make some great music with your vids and software!! Happy Christmas!!
Cheers!! And Merry Xmas Antony!!! 😊
I’ve been making music for 20 years and find it fascinating to watch. I highly recommend Noah’s M4L devices they’ve definitely inspired different ways of thinking and working with MIDI. Always stay learning!
@@hrvstmusic which device would be a good one to start with? I would like to explore one and share (perhaps on my own TH-cam channel) what I create :)
@@hrvstmusic 💛🙏🙌
@@AntonyNorthcutt Uhhhhhh..... Pattern Engine I think. Or the MIDI Tools. Noah probably has a better suggestion.
Nice❤
thanks for having me.
Hi Noah, The possibilities just keep stacking up, amazing utilities once again! I've started adopting parts of your workflow, especially the final step of rendering an arrangement. That’s something I hadn’t included in my workflow before. Usually, after a good session, I just record a few minutes of audio, knowing I’ll never revisit the project again. At least there’s something to listen to, but now, perhaps with a touch of arrangement, I might actually revisit future projects. And yes, techno definitely needs claps, I can’t even imagine Kenny Larkin’s Catatonic (First State) without them. 👏 Thanks again for the devices you’ve been creating. I really appreciate your approach to them, they’re incredibly inspiring! Cheers, Remco
Love to hear this! Yes, it's such a crucial part of the process - whether you actually end up continuing a project or not, at least you have a clearer picture to come back and evaluate next time you open it.
Loved the first set. Great to see this!
🙌
Scooped today. Looking forward to diving in this week.
does it only call and response between 2 notes?
Yes, but they can be modified with numerous other MIDI Transformations to diversify both notes after the fact - or, for a similar result using up to six voices that never overlap, try our all-new Hexaline: manifest.audio/hexaline - included with MIDI Toolset 002: manifest.audio/midi-toolset-002 - that said, further differentiating Converser: it just got an all new Euclidean generation mode..! 🤓
@@manifestaudio u got me.. heading over to shop :)
These are sick dude. Will snag when I get more financially stable
Excellent job again Noah!
Amazing!
Fantastic stuff! As always.
this is so cool!
first
I bought this about 2 minutes into the video.
I wish the controls were labeled. I have a couple of yalls plugins and i swear the ui doesnt explain enough
You're certainly not wrong - it's one of the unfortunate side-effects of trying to pack a few too many advanced features into Live's rather modest GUI constraints... but there is a workaround: whenever you need a reminder of a parameter, just open Live's Info View and hover - all the labels and descriptions are in there for easy reference. At some point we'll do some pop-outs with larger GUIs but for now, when in doubt... Info (View) shout! 😅
Pure genius! ❤
more like thissss <3
Thanks for the great insights! I use the Subtraction Engine combined with multiple X-relays in a feedback loop on different tracks to create call-and-response phrases. I haven’t yet figured out how to incorporate the Pulse Engine into this feedback loop to create a musical phrase from time to time.
Wow, that sounds super cool, would love to see your configuration with Subtraction Engine and X-Relay - and we'll definitely get deeper into Pulse Engine soon, but a fun quick recipe for it to occasionally fill some gaps is to set Pulse Engine to Fill mode... more soon!
@@manifestaudio Thanks, Noah! I hadn’t explored Fill mode yet. Another fun approach with surprising results is to upload all the manuals into ChatGPT or NotebookLM and ask for different setups and configurations of the MFA devices to create something "in the style of...".
@@kozepz 🤯
@@manifestaudio The Fill mode indeed did the trick, awesome! ❤

Thank you for sharing your ideas which is really inspiring. I also get the "only audio effects can be inserted" message which is super annoying. No idea what is causing this, I assume a bug in Ableton.
Glad you're enjoying the process! That error message seems to disappear after inserting an audio effect anywhere in the set - but rather strange it keeps displaying until then.
Thank you for sharing your process. Love the idea of creating an automation to do list, such a great way to add a wide variety of movement to tracks.
Nice nice - so glad you found some useful tidbits in there!
Hi Noah
Had to leave halfway througn but what i saw was great thanks Noah, going to watch the rest later. Hope it becomes a regular slot
Nice one!
great session! thanks!

damn I bought one (MFA metarhythm), just bought another and now Metaflux looks cool. Man you guys are cookin and its great to see what ableton is becoming

It's not on the website?
Pretty sure it's right here: manifest.audio/converser 😅 - but if it's not showing up there for you, that would be quite odd... let us know!
@@manifestaudio it's there now , wasn't earlier unless you followed the link
@@Kevhuman Ahh I get it now - yeah, takes a few minutes to update the front page after the product page goes live... but dang - y'all are quick!! 🙌
Cool, bit like x-ponder ! Will this be part of any bundle in the near future?
Might be a little while before we have enough new MIDI Tools to warrant a fresh bundle - but as a Toolset 001 owner, you should now have a special discount code in your inbox! 🙌
@@manifestaudio oh that's brilliant
Thank you so much man, it is exactly what I was looking for!
Would be dope if you could somehow add groove onto these clips
We might add this functionality directly into X-Looper at some point later on - but for now you can simply add our free Cheat Code device after X-Looper to apply any swing timing you want to your MIDI loops: manifest.audio/cheat-code 😎
Thanks Noah great tutorial
This looks great. Is the latency low enough for live performance as I’m looking for a real-time audio to midi drum trigger?
It's fairly low-latency, and with some track delay compensation can get pretty instantaneous... probably worth a try! ;)
@@manifestaudio Cheers for getting back. Is there a trial version?
@@Oscillator99 Max for Live does not allow for trial periods, so unfortunately, trial or demo versions are not possible - however it's currently on sale for 30% off until September 1, 2024 with the discount code: HOMEWORK24
@@Oscillator99 Sadly, Max for Live doesn't allow for any sort of trial or demo functionality - but it's on sale until the end of August, 30% off with the promo code: HOMEWORK24
Thx for the video. Question & feature suggestion: Tranform too which aloows to tie adjacent notes of same pitch together making its duration longer. Maybe with some randowm weight which steers how much in percent is actually ties. Is that feasible?
Live 12.1's new note selection option makes this fairly easy: 1. select desired notes by pitch class, then 2. apply our Tether note tie randomizer :)
@@manifestaudio thx, sure but this takes too long, for any reasonable amount of pitch classess - I am hoping for a transformer.
@@CliffScherer I don't understand: even in the Transformation you describe, you would still have to define your pitch class (select a specific note or range of notes) - so I don't think it would necessarily take longer; also, any MIDI Transformation can already be applied to a specific note selection, which could be pitch-based, simply by selecting those notes with your mouse - to select all notes on a certain key, you can also just click the key on the note ruler and then apply the Tether or other Transformation only to those selected notes. Apologies if I've misunderstood what you're looking for - but if not, I think most of the functionality you want already exists.
very well thought out and creative devices. fun stuff.
❤❤❤❤
bought right away! amazing work, guys! keep it up :D
Is Global Hub now completely useless with live 12 ?
Fair question. But no, not at all! While it's no longer *necessary* to keep our devices in the scale and key of your set, it allows you to control for non-Ableton scales, randomize the scale, key, time signature, BPM, and swing of your project, randomize Manifest Audio device settings, and also control swing, transposition, and octave of all Manifest Audio devices in your project. So while the need it was developed for is no longer quite so pressing as of Live 12, Global Hub is far from useless! ☺
This is sounding random music, whatever "control tools" feed the randomness. I don't say it's bad, I only say you can't hide the randomness of the results.
Sure, the purpose of this demo is to show some of the chaotic potential of this device. Naturally, it is entirely possible to use Pattern Engine without any randomization at all if you want. However, the entire point of this powerful sequencer is the enormously high degree of control it provides over its extensive randomization features, harnessing random algorithms deliberately and with purpose to generate compelling new musical ideas that would otherwise be difficult to access.
@@manifestaudio That's a convincing explanation :) Thanks!
Can this be used on a Push 3 standalone?
To the best of our knowledge, Push 3 does not support MIDI Tools yet - but hopefully will soon!
Cool stuff as always! The "visualizing notes idea" is amazing. Helps understand more about the other devices.
Headrush abandoned it's Looperboard users who helped them through beta testing arrive at a usable product. Unfortunately, use of sub standard switches and electronic components forced Headrush to make the decision to redesign their flagship Looper to function properly on a hardware level. Their actual software is almost identical in features to it's predecessor, demonstrating that they knew their unit had design flaws. Buyer beware. Headrush is a terrible company who doesn't care about their products or clientele.
