Im sure they’d get feedback from Caulfield, so I wouldn’t worry about attitude. I don’t know how real that is anyway. If he’s at least a 60-70 point guy today, and there’s no guarantee a 5th pick will ever hit that mark, I think it needs to be considered. If they draft, that player is at least 4 years maybe 5 from producing at that rate if he ever does. Zegras can do that from day 1.
@@jelugo77 Where did you hear about his attitude? Everyone who knows the guy, and Anaheim fans themselves, say he has a great attitude. He's a flashy guy that won't go in the hard places, but his attitude is fine. Reddit and Twitter aren't reliable sources of information.
The Ducks would likely do this but Montreal wouldn't trade the 5th overall pick for just Zegras.

@@jozefberes250 you are not getting Lindstrom at 5th OA.....Columbus are 99% picking him up at 4th. At best you get Lindstrom at 3rd and Catton at 5th. Which is still good, but not worth losing a guy who you know has mad chemistry with Suzuki and Slafkovsky + already in the NHL...Catton and Lindstrom won't make it before 2 years

Thats actually a pretty fair take. It will most likely either justify or debunk the rumors altogether, and is a decent indicator for hughes and gorton. Not 100% convinced it will happen either way, also not convinced its worth trading for, especially when the return is like, tij iginla or cayden lindstrom... Maybe right as the 4th pick happens, if demidov goes 2nd, lindstrom 3rd and iginla 4th, then it might be worth it - im a cole eiserman doubter, personally, so i might be biased

If you give up a fifth overall pick for Zegras you deserve what you get. Give one of the extra defenseman , maybe give Mailloux a clean start somewhere else.
I would love to see Zegras in MTL, but a 5th overall in this year is worth more than he is imo. I'd say maybe the 24th pick, mike matheson and maybe a 3rd or 4th round pick aswell would be fair.

Anaheim would do it. Anaheim gets Levshunov 3rd overall and Cole Caufield 5th overall
easy one. Montreal media is asking for him not so sure he is really in the sights of the organization. For myself i would not do it at that price point

No, Not a required piece. The Habs need a scorer with grit. Draft Lindstrom or Iggy with the 5th overall pick, they go hard to the net. Habs don't need highlight reel goals, I just want pucks that cross the goal line All goals are worth 1 on the score sheet. End of story!

Zegras is a legit 1st line player while lindstrom,catton,iginla are most likely 2nd line players... if we don't draft a defenseman in a stacked draft I'd be okay with trading #5 for a guy that can fit on our first line.

Unless I'm mistaken the only player in the same draft class that has scored more points than Zergas so far is Jack Hughes and Zegras missed most of last season. Add a first to that second and third and you would be closer to actual value.
