So LL made "Sincerely Yours" and supposedly Heavy D. went and made "Don't You Know"?! Damn I always thought they sounded a lil familiar & "Don't You Know" did sound LL-ish but now it makes sense Lol. R.I.P Heavy D!
I was born in 96’ but when I first heard I Need Love as a kid I knew it was a Classic and made me love HipHop even more. I was alone in my room, staring at my wall, thinkin bout my girlfriend. #TIMELESS
"i'm bad" is one of the greatest beats of all time. to this day in my top ten songs. the music video looks like they made it for $100 but we couldn't get enough of it.

To clarify, the song in which many cite as a ‘subliminal’ dis towards M.C. Shan is “The Breakthrough”. Ex. ‘Can’t get a decent contract, your beats ain’t workin’ / Dogged out Pumas, plus your manager’s jerkin’.’ Now, what doesn’t make sense is for him to throw jabs at Salt’n’Pepa within the same bar zone (Your mic sounds weak, remember that, skeezer). I think that could have possibly been remaining lyrical shrapnel for Shan or just simply a play off of Salt’n’Pepa’s “My Mic Sounds Nice”. I don’t think L. was giving Salt’n’Pepa some type of warning shot; it wouldn’t have made any sense to do so. But Soren, if you ever get the chance, please get Uncle L. to set the record straight, once and for all, whether or not he was dissing M.C. Shan on “The Breakthrough”. And while you’re at it, get him to set the record straight on “1-900-L.L. Cool J.”, in which many think he’s dissing Slick Rick with “I got your gold teeth marks all over my dick”. And LASTLY, people think he was calling out Big Daddy Kane with his reference to “a-b-c m.c.s” at the beginning of “It Get’s No Rougher”! I don’t believe he was going at either of them; they were all cool with each other and toured together on the “Nitro” tour, supporting the ‘Panther’ album, which is the album that those bars are on….so it just doesn’t make sense. But, what say he? I think that’s all I got.😬
We're with you, Courtney Ross. #SorenBaker has been wondering about those very things for years, too. Thanks for watching & supporting #UniqueAccessEnt.
I never heard anyone mention "You can't juice me" I heard it on a cassette way back in the day. It was poor quality but to us it was exclusive LL that wasn't out so we didn't even care... 😂 He was beatboxing and it has some cutting and scratching on a guitar riff...I wonder why it was never upload to the net. It's still out there somewhere in guessing 🤷🏾♂️
That cassette made it's rounds in Inglewood it also had get down without the Shaft sample on it Bad without the bassline and the Doo woop with lyrics that weren't on the album
@@marcuscampbell7239 Damn you are right fam ...I wonder who got that now ? it's no where online. I was bugging when I heard dude bring it up because I never heard anyone mention it before. Even die hard Cool J fans looked at me crazy when I would bring those songs up ..wow Respect Fam !!
What trips me out is, how well some albums from back then were engineered! The Great Adventures of slick rick sounds good now!, Paid in full by Eric B. love the album but...sonically doesn't sound well engineered
I'm from NY but I just never been a L.L. fan. I recognize his achievements but I always felt he was half corny. Like "I'm BAD" just didn't sound like something a dude who was really bad would think to say, Michael Jackson maybe but a real dude... nahh. I much prefer L.L. work with Marly Marl.
@Courtney Ross They were okay but he just always came off as over dramatic with whole "Rock the Bellllllllllllls" And it also sounded similar to T-La-Roc's "It's You'rs" I think I did like "Dear Evet" But then he makes "I'm Bad" Just saying that sounded corney to me. But then I like "Jiggling Baby remix"
@@mc365mc I’ve heard that about L. sounding like T-La-Rock before. I didn’t care.😆😆😆. But, I get it. I’m no fan of Drake. I just don’t see it. But, clearly somebody likes him🤷🏾♂️. So, I get where you’re coming from with L.
Def Jam was like the Motown of Hip Hop in its day.
My personal favorite from that BAD album was 357. LL's voice and the production was A1 🔥
