Yo! This dude was the ISH back in '88. My boy put that joint in the tape deck(L.A.Posse) and we loved that ish! THe video made the song even more dope! Respect to this bro, I wondered whatever happened to him!
Brilliant interview thank you. I had no idea that Breeze was signed to Def Jam back in the day but I'd love to hear some of those 40 songs he recorded during that period!
He totally missed the point of DMC telling him they play his songs in Queens. Russell probably gave them his music to give them inspiration to change their delivery. That’s that snake shyt.
Legendary slept on 4 sho, me and my cuz/bro ( Dia Jermaine Holmes RIH ) used to bump his album, had phenomenal verse on king T's played like a piano too 💯💯🔥🔥
It almost sounds as if Russell saw Breeze’s talent, which appeared equal to or better than L.’s. So, Russell snatched up Breeze to basically silence him and stifle his growth. Russell was dead set on making L.L. shine, and didn’t want another light-skinned bad ass mc out there shining over L….especially coming from the West Coast. What other explanation could there be? Breeze can’t even really pin-point what was going on with his Def Jam association. They even stole the LA Posse. L.L. stole Bobcat!🤣🤣🤣. There was no doubt a campaign to silence Breeze as an mc. Don’t know if L.L. had any input, but something tells me he didn’t mind the interference. I’d like to hear Russell’s version of the fallout.🤔
@nevinreid311 If she was paid HUSH money, then how did it get to you? Hush money ain't no joke. Hush money means STFU or you ain't gon be able to enjoy that money.
Lyrically Breeze is nice but for some odd reason it seems like a lot of people meaning other mc's didn't take him seriously 🤔 I heard years ago that most rappers thought he was just a pretty boy or Maybe because of he's was from the West Coast but Ice Cube is from the West and Cube blew up🤔 So Breeze in my opinion will always be a mystery why he wasn't excepted for his artistry and lyricism...
@nevinreid311It helped, however, you gotta have more than good looks to make it to superstardom levels in the industry. LL is talented too! He's lyrical, commands the stage, high energy, and the music under his lyrics is a whole vibe! But above all, he is aggressively industrious. He deserves every accolade he's ever received.
I still bump LA Posse....that's a true LA classic!
He had the best verse on played like a piano! Period
You crazy as fk. Ice Cube killed that track. Over King T verse he might but Cube slaughtered it.
It’s the NY accent & flows. He was just too advanced for the West back then
@@Sputz3 Agreed. Cube dissed NWA on the sly after leaving the group. Breeze’s verse was tight but Cube was in his bag on that one.
Exactly
really?
Get the burgers whimpy! 😂 That intro to that classic video kills me.
Is this the Breeze that did the album T.Y.S.O.N. ? Because I absolutely love that song " GOING THROUGH A PHASE" !!!!
Yep, that’s him

"When you see me sporting a beanie not a Kangol now yo ass got played like ****ing piano"

Is he going to talk about how he was promoted in the music industry as a West Coast artist but really from Harlem? I want to hear his story on that.
Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago

He should have definitely been more popular, Travis Freeman. Thanks for watching & supporting #UniqueAccessEnt.
Oh woww
Solo album was good… doesn’t get mentioned
They bit his energy..and used it to bolster the Cool J sound, kindve a sparring partner..Breeze was the epitome of the WestCoast Bragadacio Emcee
