@@happierabroad I have only joined OBOD so I can not speak of the other ones. The value I have found with OBOD so far is that it's a course designed to teach you lessons per week every week for 3 years if you do all three courses. That is way way more material then you will get out of books. It all works together and compliment each other and you get a tutor as well. I think it's no different then college, you can buy a book on programming (or any subject) or you can attend a curriculum at a college to learn it, kinda up to the individual.
I’m so glade you mentioned OBOD! I just signed up this year for the new on-line version and I’m finding it really useful in day to day life. I’ve also heard of magic school run by Mia magic which sounds interesting and is to do with witchcraft.

Thank you for this great video! I personally joined Grey School, and although I am not that far in I really enjoy it. You've got seven levels, and multiple departments to learn in (e.g. wizardry, wortcunning, divination, ceremonial magick). The classes I have taken up until now are really interesting, and the feedback you get on assignments is very extensive. I would really recommend checking it out!

You talk about schools that you can take from a distance, but do you know of any schools that teach in person? Like boarding schools that I could get hands on help?
though they may exist, I am not aware of them. I did attend four winds trade academy but its not a boarding school. It was an in person school though. A few book shops down the street from me use to do classes, I taught a few as well. before they closed.
Grey school of wizardry is an actual witchcraft school that you can go to in person.
Could you do a follow-up video on the flip side of this. That because there is no federal over sight anyone can make claims of professorship in witchcraft. That anyone can set up an academy and their own accreditation agency. SO they can charge some outlandish prices and give weekend classes that have no value. Thank you for mentioning Isaac Bonewitts, with what the ADF did to him. I love it that people have not turned their back to Isaac. Awesome video, thank you for making it.
Ohhhh nice topic idea Blue, thanks for bringing it up. That would be something I'll need to add to my list :) and of course Isaac is well known for those that follow the old ways. Or at least he should be :)
I can't believe people turned their backs on Isaac so readily, without first wondering why the allegations were made *in a book* after his death.
can you do a video contrasing real magic with the kind you see in the movies? I don't think it will be dramatic like the Jedi in Star Wars. You can't lift big objects into the air like Yoda does right? even people with real telekinesis can only move small objects like matchsticks.
I actually do have a few videos on this topic, look for my video about harry potter and real magic and the video don't miss represent magic. They only things I've personally seen moved with the mind alone are candle flames and telekinetic enhancer tools. I've never seen anyone move a physical object like a matchstick. So as far as I can tell it's not possible.
We got a few actual schools here in New Orleans. Where they’re actually in a house/building and have an entire curriculum. Now mind you that they only teach 18 and up unless a parent or guardian is present. But some won’t teach someone till they’re 21 or even 25. A few covens also do teaching online. But if someone really wants to learn, I say it’s beneficial to the extreme to move here to New Orleans. There’s public school teachers among many other people in the system who have altars in their classroom.
Very cool, do you have any of the names of the schools? I've heard of ones in person as well and honestly in person might be the best route. However the benefit of online is reaching a larger group of potential students.
There’s Academie Gnostique. There about the best for just all around occult. But here it’s kind of like an apprenticeship program you get into to learn from a master. Most interchange and intermix with conjure. And you’ll have a practice that ranges from hoodoo/voodoo, Norse, Druid, gardenarian, etc. just a gumbo of different beliefs and elements. Also you learn real quick down here to watch your back, Jack.
A couple other people I know online that actually teach have the mindset of if their meant to find it, they will.

If you don't share how can others find you? perhaps if destiny is involved, maybe leading to that channel on youtube or comment on youtube is destiny? I mean folks dont go out of their way to hide it to make sure it finds them on their own right?
I remember a few years back I made up and read aloud my own "summoning incantations" in the upstairs part of my old house. Everytime I would read them I would hear a paper somewhere in the room start sliding. One time I did a big ritual to create a poltergeist thoughtdorm for fun, and afterwards the garbage bag in my kitchen began shaking/flapping back and forth on it's own, no wind. It did that for about 1-2 minutes before slowing down and stopping. I've tried it in other locations but nothing happens, it only seems to work effectively in that old house.

I totally enjoyed this. I didn’t even know about these programs. The druidry one sounds like a lot of bang for the buck! I wouldn’t be surprised if this video went viral👍🏻😉 I’d enjoy your critique of the Netflix series “The Magicians.” I found a lot of deeper spiritual truths in it as well as being very funny at times. I thought the characters “Eliot” and “Margo” were awesome. Very well written script, IMO.
As always the books are better :) so I heard. I really liked Quentin Coldwater. I might consider doing that though it's been a while since I've watched and never finished cause I got mad when Quentin...hmmm did different stuff then the books? I think that is good for not spoiling :D
If you want a taste of OBOD's teachings, without spending too much, get a copy of "Druid Mysteries for the 21st Century," which is a re-release of one of Carr-Gomm's earlier introductory books.

@@BlazeLeeDragon That depends on the exchange-rate. The price is still listed at OBOD as Pounds Sterling, isn't it? The book, imho, is the least-costly option for a basic look at the teachings, though books by Emma Restall Orr and Philip Shallcrass are a good look at the British Druid Order's teachings (a "rival" to OBOD).

Essentially when working with magic you are working with manifestation of your will through subtle vibrations. There is a saying "yesterday's magic is today's science". many of the things you learn is about how to work with the world and natural flow of life. In some cases its straight science and philosophy. In others its about belief.

no, we are talking real magic. energy work, protection spells, healing spells, health spells etc. However there is more to magic then just spells, it's a way of interacting with the world on a meta physical level

I have read that these schools reach out to you. Is that true. I have had the signs and pull for years and a family history but I am just now feeling led to start my practice. I have been researching to try and find schools and that is when I heard about them reaching out to you so if you could help me I would really appreciate it.
no, none of these schools reach out to you. You just go to their website and join. There is no acceptance application you simply sign up.

Well there was this huge ass school in japan that trained the court magicians in the heian period
And the yamabushi still teach shugendo and mikkyo buddhism also if you study as a yamabushi you could be taught magic by a tengu as legend says
not familiar with that one, is it still around?

what did you get from the school?
You can see in a handful of my other videos but enough study material for every week for a full year. They have 3,grades, eavh with a year. Lessons, history, lore, ritual books. A ton of stuff.

Come on now you are mixing fantasy and fiction with real life. muggle is the word they use in England, she wrote books about America too and called them nomag.
This is actually based upon real life too though. Those who do not practice magic in any form are referred to as cowen, at least among modern day witches. If you have a wand and drop it, they will just think you dropped a stick. No one is going to care. however if you publicly announce you practice magic, you'll get all sorts of responses from laughs, to trolling responses, or accusations of practicing evil stuff.

I'm happy to promote OBOD as a great resource and organization.
OBOD shares roots with Wicca, as Ross Nichols and Gerald Gardner were friends, and devised the eightfold calendar together.
ADF is a spinoff of the Reformed Druids of North America, and now disavows connection to Bonewits. I'm an "inactive" member of ADF, but because of recent events, I'm glad I'm not active.
Christopher Penczak also offers training through his Temple of Witchcraft site.

The thought of a school/distant learning sounds lovely, I don't live by a group (that I know of) and rather enjoy being solitary
one of the advantages to some of the schools. For example OBOD, they send you material. it's a solitary study program. You have a tutor you can reach out too, you have access to a forum if you like and you can look for local seed groups or groves. However none of that is required until you want to go up to the next grade. then you contact your tutor for a test of sorts, more an evaluation of if you learned the basics of your grade. I don't know about the other three, I have not attended them.

Btw I was wondering something. If the Druids had powerful magick why didn't they use it against the invading Roman armies 2000 years ago so they would not be wiped out? I wonder if anyone has asked this or addressed it. You would think they tried to use magick on invading armies right? The Wiccan leader Gerald Gardner said that covens of witches in England used magick against the Nazis during the Battle of Britain and prevented them from invading. Why didn't the Druids do the same against the Romans and later Anglo Saxons too? Do you ever wonder about that too?
honestly we don't know much about the ancient druids. However I am under the impression they did. Did it work? who knows, but I dont know of any magic that is all powerful and full proof. who is to say counter magics where not done? who is to say it didn't work? As I understand it the druids merged with the christians much of what the christians do today is based on druid lore. Everything from sundays to wearing robes and having staffs. Even the christians holy days are based upon the druid seaonsal festivals.
@@BlazeLeeDragon I agree. Magic is not all powerful and has its limits. In the Star Wars prequels, the Jedi were powerful too but could not stop the Empire from taking over. Especially since the Empire had dark sith lords working for it too. Probably the Druid magick did work but if the invading force is overwhelming then there's not much that can be done. The gods are probably limited in how much they can intervene.

I came across a site you or your viewers might want to check out. It's Uncle Fester's Magick. Besides selling supplies and jewelry, they have a free wicca/witchcraft course. It's 48 lessons including ones for the sabbat's. I just started. So far, so good. You can proceed at your own pace. But to fully absorb the material a year is encouraged to complete it. Like I stated, it's completely free.

sorta... I mean there are schools that are not public. However there is nothing like Hogwarts, that is all fiction. These schools are examples of public ones that are the closest you'll find. Also being a fan of the novels, Muggles is only the word they use in Europe. The back story she wrote about America called them no-maj.

some of them yes. For example the OBOD one you have option of audio or paper. so you get a packet in the mail once per month. I've not attend the others though so I'm not sure how they work.

Some have buildings, I use to go in person to a place called "the Four Winds Trade Academy". I'm sure there are some local shops that might do workshops too and some of these places might have physical locations or groups. For example OBOD will have local groves and seed groups around the world. Its kinda of hit and miss, but seeing as how many are local and don't board people you have to search your area to find ones.

I can't speak for all of them. But at least in the case of OBOD it's more about a spiritual journey.

you don't sound stupid at all, I do a follow up to this video about harry potter and real magic. the books and tv shows fabricate what magic is. One might argue there is real magic and then there is fantasy/fiction magic. What is done in movies, books, games and tv shows is fiction. Much like when folks display anything in these platforms they over dramatize them and make them seem to be a on larger scale then reality.

I'm sure you could learn a lot of it from books but in the case of OBOD you get forums, a tutor and it's all organized together from their 300 years of research. I have not applied to the other 3 that are still around so I can't speak of them. OBOD is not bad its no different then paying a monthly fee for martial arts class and it's much cheaper then collage. ADF is very cheap, not sure on the other two.
But is there real wands? That actually cast spells?
yes wands are real, they don't cast spells. The wielder casts the spell. Wands work like a focusing tool, a pointer so to speak to direct your intent. The material of the wand can aid with the intent. No different then when you see folks of other religions wave their hand over stuff while they recite passages from their books or burn incense. It's just a focusing mechanism for spirituality.

@@seanclarke5969 well sorta. I mean the castle is real, its Alnwick Castle. However as far as I know it was never used as an actual magic school. The Harry Potter books are a work of fiction.
@@BlazeLeeDragon I can see where you are coming from as well one video on TH-cam shows a man exploring a castle that was abounded it was a catholic school but something else went on there and inside the castle it was in poor condition the building is not safe to be in and castle had resemblance of hogwarts inside and outside it was a school in soctland one part looked like it was booked one more thing thre was place inside the building where it looked like the students had lunch in look up hogwarts school in soctland and something came up on Google maps plus I am wiccan but to take a realistic approach to my practice

As far as I know no. Like many things in movies and books real world things inspire but are blown out of proportion. You can use wands to direct and focus energy. However there is a natural order to this world. The effects done in those moves are not possible. However I believe some reflect some types of real magic.
I know there are schools that exist but are the magic you are talking about the magic the same as harry Potter magic, potions or spells. I would love to learn magic. It would make my life so much easier to be able to do spells and potions. I have yet to find anyone who claims to be a witch or warlock that can do anything magical. It is great for stores that sell items that witches or warlocks think they need but most is just Hogwash.
Not in the least. Magic is closer to science then how it is written in fantasy. Of course there is spiritual side of magic but that is not much different then most other religion or spiritualities. The closest you will find to Hogwarts is Grey's School of Wizardry. I'm sure there are others similar to this but you have to understand what magic is. I made a follow up video to this entitled "Harry Potter and REAL MAGIC?" go check that out. I did that as a follow to this video because of some of the comments.

@@GodLegendYTsGaming not really a best book, one I recommend you can find on my videos history "A Grimoire of Shadows" by Ed Fitch is good. But there are plenty and this is all opinion based.
All of these are online ones, only school I know of that is in person is four winds trade academy. I haven't been there in years though. I'm sure there are others but you'd have to look around. Also I'm sure the Cabot one you can attend in person but would have to reach out about that.

I’m christian,, so is it associated with the devil or any bad stuff like that?
i've heard in most christian mythology they try to claim everything "non-christian" as coming from "the devil" . I heard a priest once say "unless you are doing "so and so" in the name of god it's the devil's work".
so from that aspect it may be considered to be bad. However most who practice will call that rubbish, as "the devil" and what not is not even recognized as being real. Most magical practices (though not all) have nothing to do with any sort of demon, devil, satan etc or even acknowledging that one exists.
some paths are even open to being christian in their workings. Take OBOD for example, it's a spirituality and not a religion and there are christian Druids as well as polytheistic and even atheist Druids.

There are two sides of my brain.
The practical one which is telling me magic is not real. And the 8-year-old, obsessed with harry potter and watching videos to become a wizard/witch one, which is telling me to believe what strangers are saying on the internet.
the side of your brain telling you magic is not real maybe due to not understanding what magic is. Magic is very real, unfortunately its not like magic of fantasy though. the magic you will learn at these schools is not like the magic presented in movies and games.

I don't know. If it's about Spirituality, I should think the Classes should be Free. As Jesus said at Matthew 10:28, You received free, give free. How can you benefit from a course when you don't have the money to pay for it?
Though I can understand that line of thinking, nothing is truly free. Even if you look to spirituality and modern church groups they receive donations from their followers. It might be a pay what you what but it still costs. The problem with schools like these is it costs time and effort as well as materials. Then there are fees for the site which are not free as well. So if they made it free for everyone, then the would be paying money to give things out for free. Personally I don't see that as right or fair. I also think folks value stuff more they have to pay for because psychologically folks want to "get their money's worth".

Obod is about money. You pay your dues as soon as you have money issues you can't access what you already paid for you only access them as soon as you start paying again. I'll stick with Rosicrucians they don't do that to their members.
Knowledge costs money, if you go to college and stop paying your tuition you'll get kicked out. You are not gonna keep access to the college. I've never not paid access to OBOD but after getting through the Bardic grade I maintained access to their forums and tutor.

energy masters? Magicians refer to someone who does magic, this can be both in the sense of actual magic as well as illusions and tricks. Which I find in a way is real magic too but of a different type then is traditionally thought of when someone says real magic.

depends who you talk to. Crowley introduced the K to differentiate between performance magic and Arcane/Occult magic. He also had mathematical reasons to use a word spelled with 6 characters rather then 5. I've personally never been a huge fan so I just end up spelling it as "magic".

I'm sure there are plenty of people similiar enough to Harry. That is the markings of a good character making them relatable for the reader. If the fictional jesus from the christian mythology is based upon a real person I don't know anything about him. If he did exist he would not have been a wizard as that is a modern term coined for fantasy novels.
