2007 Land Rover Freelander 2 / won't start. The key is in. Nothing happen when I press "Start" button. I don't hear anything except some clicking at the passenger side. The steering wheel is locked,.
I have this problem a lot with mine ! The first time I wrang landrover for advice as I was in France and the mechanic said take both battery leads off and hold them together for 30 seconds atleast which earths all the static electricity! To my amaizement it worked and I have done it many times since but you need to keep a 10 mm spanner in the car. Good look and thankyou for sharing this Freelander 2 prob!
I had a similar problem with my 08 LR2 except for the lights on my instrument panel being on. It ended up being the starter, which is an easy replacement on the bottom side of the motor. I had sporadic starting issues leading up to this.
Bought my 2014 F2 Metropolis a year ago..similar problem but very intermittent. No starting problems during summer but alot of starting problems during cold months??? Already replaced battery and as its now getting colder, it's beginning to rear its head again. Suffice to say I wouldn't ever volunteer to be Bank Robber Getaway driver 😆 😅 . Other than this issue (which I still don't know what the cause is yet) I absolutely love the car - best one I've ever had....and I've had many many new cars over the course of my 40 years motoring
Same thing happened to mine ,due to a faulty battery the car totally immobilised. Removed the battery,connected the positive and negative battery terminals on the car and left over night . Next day fitted a new battery and problem solved.👍
D_T - did you find a solution. I have the same issue - no dash lights when I put the key in and freelander 2 won't start. I tried robert rogers solution below but no luck :( Did you manage to sort?
Hi had the same issue with my F2 it was the starter motor solonoid, which can be bought seperately on Ebay for around £16, The NIssan Densa one I got was an exact match to the factory one. The starter motor needs to be removed for this but my Mechanic did it in under 2 hours.
Same problem I disconnected the battery and charged over night leaving the positive and negative battery terminals touching together over night , fitted the battery the next day , sorted it for me

Really?? I hav same problems i thought bcm problem
As I know after replacing battery, bcm needs at least 2 days to work worrectly or you should go to LR service to reset and adjust it

I had this exact problem, it's probably going to happen again but I disconnected the battery overnight and it started the next day.
Had same intermittent problem, got steadily worse. I thought it was duff glow plugs, had them checked, all defunct, had them replaced, problem solved.

Nope.. might happened due some error. Try removing your battery for 5 minutes, it should work.
