After 30 years on his job, he said "I only need two more years and then I'll retire with Medicare to help me out. Sadly today, I received the call that I have been dreading. Unfortunately my dear friend is no longer with us. I am not writing this for condolences but for sharing what the video is truly about. That is such a heartbreaking story! Gerald left this world too soon, and it is a tragedy that he didn't get to live his golden years-living like we only have now and no guarantee of a tomorrow creates an urgency to just live your dreams. I am sure your friend's death creates an impression on your life. His story is not uncommon. In the book Regrets of The Dying, two regrets are, " I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me" and "I wish I had let myself be happier". It is painful to lose a friend. Rest in Peace, Gerald.
You are so inspiring. I’m having a hard time trying to downsize to a two bedroom ranch with no basement or garage and you have all your stuff in a truck camper! You have a bigger life now 🎉 All your soul searching has helped you decide what is really important to you, as you said family, friends, your dogs and being in nature. Yes! That is an exciting plan! I like your mindset. You can view the factory closing as a detriment to your life or an opportunity to live your dream! I have met people on the road who waited until they were retired to do that, but then they developed health issues or could only participate partially because they could hike very far. Enjoy your life now! It may be scary because it is not the norm, but you can do it if you have the desire and perseverance! Yay for you! Enjoy your beautiful life!

I looked up that campground, and it looked so beautiful and August will be perfect weather! I do want to explore some nude beaches when the weather gets warmer. In Florida, there are days year-round where you can still go, but I am heading West in a few weeks! I'm excited!

I buy things I regret all the time. Mainly, clothes. But are you talking about big things like your house or other stuff? I’m a nurse and I have to spend a lot of my own money for continuing education hours. I hate that and don’t think it’s really fair, but I tend to spend a lot of my own money just for this profession. Like scrubs, new sneakers, etc. It’s frustrating, to say the least. Anyway, please keep the vlogs coming! I love their content.
When I lived a traditional life, I bought many things, thinking they would somehow improve my life - kitchen appliances, exercise equipment, new pots, clothes, makeup, etc. In hindsight, all these things were a distraction because I was unhappy. Commercialism tries to convince us that we are not whole and need some product to make us happy. It is a big lie to sell stuff. I also spent money on education - like my master's degree, self-help retreats, and courses- but I think that was worth it because it contributed to my knowledge and personal growth, and I will always have it. Check if you can write off your uniforms and courses on your taxes. I'm not sure in 2024. I appreciate you watching my channel!

I was nervous, which is why it took me five years to start a channel! All of my life, I tried to be invisible as a matter of survival, and now I was going to do something to make myself very visible. The hospital where I was travel nursing canceled my job contract because they didn't want to pay me the contracted amount. I didn't know what to do. I took it as a sign and filmed my first video of my road trip to visit my parents for Easter 2023. I didn't know how to shoot or edit, but I figured it out. It was terrifying, and I was blown away by how many people watched that video - over 70,000! Most of the comments are very kind-hearted, but a few are not. Those negative comments initially triggered me, but I learned not to take anything personally. Those comments had nothing to do with me and everything to do with that person's experiences and mindset. How can I take that personally? It was a huge life lesson. If I do feel hurt because of a comment, it means that there is something unhealed within me, and I go inward, pinpoint it, and heal it. TH-cam has been a gift! I understand how you feel. Sometimes we compromise our dreams in order to please a spouse. I was in the same predicament. There is always a path forward.
Hey! I didn't know that! I like beer and since I really don't drink anymore (the alcohol makes me feel bad) I started drinking NA beer. I like it and I only drink a few a week.
Wow! I didn't know that. It's funny that I rarely eat sugary foods but I do like having something that resembles an alcoholic drink sometimes. I was drinking kombucha for that but recently switched to NA beer. Kombucha is probably that healthier choice.
@@KimannChessa I found that what I really crave about beer is the carbonation. An ice-cold Perrier carbonated mineral water can hit the spot just like a beer. The vodka that I keep in the spray bottle that I use to sanitize dishes can also be used to put a squirt of vodka into the Perrier to spike it up a little bit. I buy the Perrier in the 24-pack at Sams Club making it inexpensive and healthy.
There are so many resources on TH-cam on how to start a channel. The information is out there and you don't have to spend a lot of money to get started. You can use your phone to film and there are free or cheap editing apps.
I'm still working on teaching him that! The problem is that he likes to rip up tissues. They don't work if they are in pieces and covered in dog salvia.

Be careful drinking NA beer, because they contain about as much sugar as a candy bar.
