This is one music video that really sparked up my interest for electronic music on a whole and pretty much made me give up mainstream sound and start searching around for more of this kind of stuff. That was fourteen years ago, I think. Still loving the Jenkinsons, AFX, Autechre, this group, BoC, Mike Paradinas, mr. Raczynski...feels just like yesterday.
The version which appeared on Autoditacker was different, and titled "Twift Shoeblade". This version appears on the 12" "Twift" as well as the album Rost Pocks: The EP Collection along with various other single mix versions of Mouse on Mars songs. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Same and deja vu because I remember discovering this years ago because of this game during highschool and becoming a fan of mouse on Mars because of it. I recommend "send me shivers" and "wipe that sound". And this. There's also another version of this I recall being twift shoeblade. If you listen to these during winter it feels very fitting and soulful. Hope you enjoy ❤
There's actually another video from an even earlier beta. The levels and animals are very different, and so is the gameplay. Instead of taking over animals' bodies, you turn into them.
@guatafu Alternatively, you could kill the elephant, move the energy box to the side of the area, then use the hyena to jump on the box and again onto the top of the level. From there you could go anywhere in the level, but once you jumped down you would have to navigate back from where you jumped off. An oversight by the developers, but it's just as much a puzzle to discover that as it is to navigate the nightmare maze. The game has quite a few "bugs", but you could almost call them features.
This game was awesome. XD I like how this video is linked from the Wikipedia page for the game... Man, I wonder if I can find a copy of this game somewhere...? (They should totes remake this game without the glitches and with new features and stuff. :D)
I love space station silicon valley but how did you did this how i know the jugling bear can be used with a cheat code but when u try with the flyng mouse he is invisible how did you get in all this wierd levels plase tell me!
lol most awesome n64 game ever. strange though that ive beaten the game multiple times yet ive never seen several levels and animals that were in this video... (flying mice and juggling bears for example) some shots were pretty funny when combined with the music =P
You probably don’t use this account anymore, but this was the beta version of this game. I believe you can still play as the juggling bear through a cheat code whilst controlling a bear though.
mouse on mars toured in japan around that time.. so that could be where they got footage although the game developers are british. Also noteworthy: this track was released in 1997 and video aired on good old MTV Europe
Markus Popp (of Oval) managed to convince DMA to lend him and the video producer a test/beta copy to make this clip with. They sent them a cartridge with a couple of modified features over the normal game, like a freely moving camera. Here's the full story: www.unseen64.net/2008/04/04/silicon-valley-n64-concept-beta/
Looool xD the music fits perfectly to such a weird kind of game

Thumbs up if your love of Mouse on Mars AND Space Station Silicon Valley both converged, bringing you here to this point in space and time.
Yes it was. In Europe, in 2000, under the title Evo's Space Adventures.
i watched this vid like 10 times. awsome!!!
There's actually another video from an even earlier beta. The levels and animals are very different, and so is the gameplay. Instead of taking over animals' bodies, you turn into them.
whats it called

Wat a catchy tune, and perfkt vid 2 match it, just lik a sega or playstation 1 game
Actually, the game was for N64 and pc.
The game shown in this video was made by DMA Design, today known as a little indie dev called Rockstar North.
Space Station Silicon Valley? At first it looked like Croc (?) to me.
Yeah. It's Space Station Silicon Valley.
hab das damals immer auf viva geschaut...einfach nur genial :)
This was on the Autoditacker album which came out in 1997. It might have had its own EP, too.
This game was awesome. XD

That's because it was a Playstation game. Although it was originally on N64.

Just me?
No not just you
Yeh

This track is awesome.
real
Geez! What kind of creepy liminal space game is that?
Space Station Silicon Valley for the Nintendo 64. This is one of 2 videos to contain beta footage for the game. It’s really fun from what I’ve heard.
This game is SO awesome. You are a fool sir.
great song!
I love space station silicon valley but how did you did this how i know the jugling bear can be used with a cheat code but when u try with the flyng mouse he is invisible how did you get in all this wierd levels plase tell me!
Came here because of Space Station Silicon Valley, did not expect this song to be something I would personally enjoy! 😄
Is this like a beta of the game? I don't recognize that level...or the flying mouse
How odd to use beta footage as the music video, seemingly pretty randomly, too.
European game design in the 90s was the Wild West
It's not winnable anyway, there's a glitched trophy and if you come close to beating the Evo-part level in the Jungle section, the game freezes.
Watching the video on MTV back in the days, I always wondered if this is a real game...
i grew up playing this game and have never seen some of these levels
It’s a beta

Space station silicon valley
Where did you get this footage?
Yes, but where did you find the video? This seems to be a prototype version of the game.
mouse on mars toured in japan around that time.. so that could be where they got footage although the game developers are british.
