Boards of Canada reminds me of my first years of life, watching early cartoons or shows in the 2000's. Specially the Power Rangers. I don't know, it gives you childhood vibes, something inocent, pure, bizarre but familiar at the same time. Just a kid standing in the pure present without other concerns.

I find this especially eerie as I have a bizarrely early memory of being in my 1st year of life (1969) and looking up from my pram at sunlight flittering through the leaves of trees above me, in our first family home. I was able to explain to my mother exactly where I was, and my 'feeling tone' (she verified the location as exactly correct). Weird!
I had a powerful bout of excitement when you talked about the sunlight between the leaves, because I can feel that memory and association with the feeling of this song. I almost feel like I remember it too.
When I was 14 I made a music video to this song using MGI Videowave, a very clunky piece of software from the early 2000s, my mom's old Sony camera and a Dell running Windows ME that crashed constantly. I no longer have that video sadly, but it was fun being a teenager, finding out new music through word of mouth and making videos with friends.

I think an investing element of BoC (and, I suppose, some other artists, although I find BoC most noticeable and enjoyable in this regard possibly due to their outside sampling and electronic aspects) is how listening to the music at different speeds or directions gives different moods and atmospheres: I personally believe that watching at 1.5x speed provides a kind of thumping and imposing beat compared to a kind of gradually seeping-in and coating sensation of the unchanged track.
