    Dipping my toe into exploring a PC build - as someone that sim races, there are many more options available for PC in terms of titles and hardware. And knowing virtually nothing about PCs (playing only Xboxes for almost 20 years), this channel is amazing. I’ve learned more in a few days than I thought was possible, and there is A LOT to learn about PCs! And, if I were to buy the parts today, I feel confident I could build a PC that would suit my needs. Thanks man, keep it up! You have a new subscriber and will be watching more in the future!

    • @ScatterVolt
      @ScatterVolt  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you Patrick! For sim racing, you really can’t go wrong with anything. The more you spend the better the performance you get.
      Only specifically consider an Nvidia GPU if you plan to run three separate monitors. Otherwise it doesn’t matter.

      Thanks for the quick reply! Would you say the CPU is more important for more physics intensive titles? Currently thinking about pairing something like a 7800x3d with a 7900GRE for good performance on a single monitor for now (only 60hz 4k, but maybe going up to a higher frame rate 1440p or 4k ultrawide in the future).

      Performance difference is non existent unless you plan to do serious ray tracing. Then that’s where the 4080 super in this build shines, although the $2000 pc can still do ray tracing because it is still damn fast, just not as good as this one.

    Nice build man! Just unsure why you chose that cpu, iirc the 7950x non 3d is better in productivity (since the 3d cache is only on 1 of the 2 chiplets) and 7800x3d is better in gaming

    I plan on getting a similar pc (probably the 4090 instead of the 4080 super) but, can’t decide if I should go for the 7950x3d or i9 14900k. I’ll be using it for gaming and productivity so I need the best of both worlds. Which one do you think I should choose

    • @ScatterVolt
      @ScatterVolt  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both are multi core CPUs that have plenty of threads so both are great for “productivity” (they’d be overkill imo, 8 cores is still plenty)
      One of them has an upgrade path though and the other one is at a dead end

    found a used 4090 for 1200$ and i went with the intel 13600k and my build total is around 2800$
    personally i’d recommend going with a 7800x3d as that would perform better at games while being a lot cheaper than the 7900x3d u recommend . i’d throw the savings towards a 4090

    • @ScatterVolt
      @ScatterVolt  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The savings between a 7800x3d and a 7950x3d brand new unfortunately wouldn’t be enough to cough up to a new 4090 right now. If you could get a used deal like with your 4090 however, then yes!
