It’s so weird seeing Chris talk about these movies and how I remember him reviewing them when they came out. Being in late elementary school when I watched his Wrath of the Titans review and now watching this as a grad student, Chris has left an immense impact on me in regards to film appreciation and studying the art. Without him and his journey through these movies with me, I really don’t think I’d be the person I am today. I’ll be forever grateful for his impact, and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

My girlfriend surprised me when she showed me a memorabilia box that contained a movie ticket for Mirai. It was one of our first movie dates as a couple and I was legitimately touched. You are absolutely correct about them being time capsules!
I remember stumbling across your channel in like 2011 or 2012 after searching for reviews of Skyfall, and immediately watching everything you ever made. Chris you’ve been with me on a weekly basis for about a decade now and I can 100% you have made my life better. Any time I’ve had tragedies in my life like a pet dying, family getting divorced, dealing with severe medical diagnosis, or getting laid off I’ve always gone to this channel to cope. This was so cool! It was definitely a way different experience back in the day. I have very fond memories of going to the movies with my family that I will forever cherish. Unfortunately, we were pretty broke at the time and could only afford to go to a "$1 theater" which only played movies that were just released on VHS, but it was still such a treat for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Those were the days that you could sneak into a theater or sneak your friends in through the side door and get away with it! Lol! Ahhh, good times. Thank you for sharing.
Oh my gosh, all the nostalgia! I started collecting movie tickets when I was around 13 as well, but then they got ruined when I was 19 and after that I stopped collecting. Impressive you held on to those for over 20 years!

Amazing video idea Chris. I normally don’t collect all movie tickets but I remember some great experiences seeing The Dark Knight, UP, Avatar, Avengers, Inside Out, Rogue One, LEGO Movie, IT, Infinity War, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Joker, Lighthouse, Jojo Rabbit, No Way Home, and Everything Everywhere all at Once.

I started collecting tickets in 1980... they were just little stubs and didn't have the movie printed on them. I was 13 in 1981 and went to see "Raiders of the Lost Ark." That's when my obsession with movies started... and I moved to CA and went to film school as soon as I graduated. Kept collecting those stubs until about '92 and lost track of them in one of my many moves. I can remember seeing each of the Indiana Jones films for the first time... I worked in several movie theaters in high school, college, and beyond, so I often would see movies 5+ times... I can recall the feelings and atmosphere of many of those outings. Thanks for bringing us on the walk down memory lane!
I remember being in 5th grade and seeing movie stubs on a friend's dresser and thought, "Wow what a great idea to collect those!" So I did! I have such a huge collection now, my oldest being Dr. Dolittle from 1998 I believe. It was fun watching you relive your theater experiences and seeing someone else as excited to collect stubs as I am!!
OMG....I'll be damned....I truly thought I was the ONLY person who saves his movie tickets !!!!! I started only back in the early 2000's but when I look back on them...the memories of each movie experience is as clear as yesterday! Wish I had thought of it years before...can only imagine all the schlock I've seen over the years along with the mega blockbusters!
This is amazing Chris! It's great to see other lovers of cinema collect tickets over the years. I kept a collection of tickets ever since I was young. Unfortunately, the first half of my collection got washed in the washer when I left my wallet in a pair of jeans. I had Phantom Menace, Jurassic Park III, The Mummy Returns, Star Trek Nemesis, The Matrix Reloaded, and more. Tickets like the memory of sitting in a theater auditorium is something that can't be replicated with watching a film on digital at home.
Always wanted to do something like this but always thought there's no point because I never started before. Changed that mentality back in September when I saw No Time To Die, and I've been collecting all my tickets since then. Hope I can look back in a few years time and see an amazing collection that I have

Pre-pandemic, my girlfriend and I would always take photos in the photo booth after a movie and we would both save the strips and write what movie we saw together on the back of the strip. I have only maybe 8-10 and since the photo booth opened back up again, I would love to start collecting them again.
Dude, totally bringing back memories with this. I was a newlywed at the time you start off with here. My wife and I pretty much went to the movies every weekend back then and we saw most of these. Great times.
This brought back a lot of memories for me from when I used to save movie tickets (before my local theater stopped printing them). I was inspired by my aunt who influenced my love of movies. She has a few of the tickets you showed here saved under a glass cover on her desk. This video was a lot of fun!

19:55 for me I wish I'd seen Master and Commander in the threatre, the sound design even through the cheapest headphones I owned while watching it on a car Journey, is still one of the most immersive soundscapes I've ever witnessed in a movie. I can't imagine what it must have been like in the cinema.
Great collection Chris! It’s great to see others that have collected movie tickets for 20+ years! The first ticket I held onto that began my hobby of collecting them was for Starship Troopers in ‘97… I was 10 years old lol

Really cool to see that other people do this, too! I keep mine in a huge Geauga Lake (long-gone Northeast Ohio amusement park) beer stein that my brother gave me. It resides in a kitchen cupboard and I make it a practice to toss my stubs in as soon as I get home from the theater. The first one I have is either from Batman '89 or Batman Returns.
It’s really cool to see a lot of the theaters I’ve frequented (Kent Plaza, Chapel Hill, Independence, etc.) on the tickets here! And a lot of them on my tickets. Cool stuff man!
I love special videos like these. My heart stopped for a second when I saw the Knockin on Heaven's Door ticket. The earliest one's I have saved might be from 2012 but I didn't start doing it consistently until around 2014/15.
I thought I was the only weird one that for years collected movie tickets, I still have some but most of them are all blurry due to how old they are😅 but yeah I hate that theaters don't give out tickets anymore as often, at my local theater they give it to out but you gotta hand it back once entering, so it makes no sense to me.
Yeah I collect too. The ink doesn't hold up well. I hate that AMC doesn't print stubs like they used to. They'll print it on thin receipt paper if you ask though. It's not the same but I get it anyway.
I do everything digital when it comes to the theater experience now. It's just so convenient to get in and out. I buy online, walk straight up to get scanned, and grab my food. I do miss the momento of having a ticket stub though. I remember being a kid and having to make sure I had the ticket stub with me if I had to get up to use the restroom so I could be sure I could get back in -- even though nobody ever checked. I still have a ton left from when I was a kid. Jurassic Park is a big one for me. One of my all-time favorite movies and I remember every second of that entire experience with my mom and sister. Tickets are definitely a great way to keep a memory fresh and I regret not having more stubs saved.
I always thought I was the only one who did this! My earliest (and the moment I decided to keep these damn things) is from when I was a kid in November of 1988, "Oliver & Company," and my thousands of tickets now go up until the Top Gun Maverick pre-buys I have for Friday. I still print the digital stubs, too, so I can add them in. Nicely done, Chris! 🎬 🎞 🎥 EDIT (to make you 🤢) - I saw Phantom Menace in 1999, starting at midnight on opening day, THIRTEEN regrettable times in the theater, plus a 14th if you count that 3D re-release in 2012! Why did I do this to myself? I think it's because I got my license the week before the movie came out and, as I was the kid with the car, I became the defacto OG-Uber for the summer that was all about new Star Wars. Yes, it's a bad movie...but WOW did I immerse myself in it. Save your tix, folks, it's like a living time capsule.
I used to save mine, I think I still have a few from around 2012. But all of the theaters around me started printing them on receipts basically which for some reason made them feel less special, plus I buy them digitally on my phone sometimes, but I might start saving them again going forward. This inspired me.
Wow, The Time Machine?! I feel like nobody remembers that one. I remember seeing a trailer for it when I saw - I think - Cats & Dogs that summer. Funnily enough, that same year I took a sci-fi elective class at my junior high where our teacher one day showed us the original Time Machine and said, "They're coming out with a new version of it," but those are all I've heard of the movie. Also I'm so glad you've done this video! I don't see movies in the theater all that often (even pre-pandemic I didn't really) so I've never thought to keep my ticket stubs, although I think I still have the one for when I saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine during a college study abroad in Ireland.
My first ticket I saved and still have is for Spider-Man, I was 4 years old. I lost my god damn child mind during that movie. I still remember, I was in head start. Just got out of class, and went to the theaters. I remember watching shred and seeing the first trailer for Spider-Man, start screaming lol most movie I see day one, opening night. Movies and theaters are a truly special experience that can be taken for granted. I’ve seen classics that have changed my life. Love your collection Chris!
One of my favorite things about having a movie ticket collection is just seeing how far back they go, like when you come across one that was from like 5 or 6 years ago and it just gives you that warm, fuzzy nostalgic feeling because it’s like “Wow, I can’t believe I saw *that* movie in the theater” Unfortunately I can no longer collect movie tickets because the theater I used to go to that handed out those tickets closed and the theater I go to now doesn’t do that sort of thing but it’s still fun looking back on the ones I did collect
I used to do this when I was young but... I just couldn't afford cinema a lot, so I kind of let it fall by the wayside. It really brings back that feeling though, awesome video Chris. :)
My very first ticket I have is for The Amazing Spider-Man. Dang. Time flies. I kinda stopped collecting tickets but restarted with Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
I’m so happy you shared this. When I was a kid I had a diary and I used it for movie reviews. The two I can remember at the top of my head were Happy Feet and X-Men the Last Stand. I have saved movie and concert tickets for the longest time and I’m happy I’m not the only one. Watching you evolve into someone like me just loving movies into actually working on movies is inspirational. Don’t stop Chris!
This made me feel equal parts happy and sad. Loved seeing (and reading the comments on this video from) a fellow movie lover who also collected their movie tickets. Felt very sad as all of my movie tickets were kept in my wallet as a kid and after years of collecting them when I was in high school so dickhead took my wallet and purposely destroyed my tickets (I had no money to steal). Broke my little nerd heart. My local theatre stopped giving out proper ticket stubs not long after (just flimsy paper receipts) so I stopped collecting.
I’ve been collecting movie ticket stubs since I was a kid, going back to maybe 2006/2007. A few years ago, my friend made me a shadow box to display them in and add more. It’s easily one of the best things she’s given me. It’s cool to see so many other people that collect their stubs.
My Dad and I went to the movies every Saturday morning for decades. When he passed I found all of our ticket stubs. They are proudly displayed on the wall in my movie room now.

The Phantom Menace and Revenge Of The Sith came out today 23 and 17 years ago. The Phantom Menace is not great, But Revenge Of The Sith is very good and is one of the best Star Wars movies.

I loved this as both a movie fan and a scrapbooker. I'm now 57 and have been going to movies since my dad took me to see Monkies Go Home in 1967. My dad started taking me to horror movies when I was about 7 or 8 (much to moms chagrin). I wish I had saved my tickets. When I started scrapbooking, I started saving tickets. Prior to that I only saved tickets if they were heavy metal related. I actually have my Clint Eastwood Dead Pool signed by Slash and Trick or Treat signed by Gene Simmons. I hate tickets are going away. We didn't want to risk Top Gun being sold out over the weekend so we got tickets in advanced so no actual ticket. Hopefully they won't go completely go away like concert tickets have. Now I just have a collection of wristbands!

Working in Film/TV as a stunty means I can claim every movie ticket, video game receipt, live show ticket etc...on tax. It's all research on my field and industries haha. So I have a huge collection, but they're in envelopes, grouped with other envelopes of boring tax stuff. I think I will pull them all out and make a book like that. I was waiting for this! 10:34 For anybody who is always praising the first movie to be the best. I have been studying 1-3 and I constantly re-watch them. Pirates of the Caribbean does not go downhill in writing after the first movie. That is your business to believe that opinion everyone else goes with. Dead man’s chest gave the characters more depth! Elizabeth and William barely have anything to work with in the first movie. William’s relationship with his father that was hinted in the first movie of his father‘s existence. Paid off wonderfully. William’s character had way more in depth now and you have something to truly care about him for. You get both perspectives when you understand their Reunion! Bootstrap didn’t want Will to become a pirate like him, he wanted him to have a free life from the pirate life. William had a hard time accepting he was half Pirate but when he accepted his life and his father… He has a new journey to stab the heart of Davy Jones to set his father free. And you’re implying William is better in the first movie just because he wanted to save the girl he loved? William in the second movie now has Elizabeth as a lover. And now a new journey to rescue his father someone else he cares about. And this became a difficult situation when bootstrap told Elizabeth at world‘s end. William has to make a decision. Either don’t kill Davy Jones so he can be with you. Or he does kill Davy Jones and set me free, but he won’t be able to be on land for 10 years. If I were him I wouldn’t pick me! :/ The emotional weight on William’s character gets better and better. Elizabeth in the first movie was just a damsel in distress girl. She wasn’t useless in the first movie but you get the point. In the second movie, Elizabeth learned to wield a sword and she used it in the battle. She pulled a gun to Beckett‘s head.. went on her own journey to save will. She has grown a lot since the first movie who was just an innocent girl! Elizabeth got better as a character in 2 and 3! As for Jack sparrow. He does not become a joke at all in all 3 movies. Jack sparrow is at his best in the second movie and in the third movie. There was a moment in dead men’s chest… Where Jack didn’t know what he truly wanted so the compass couldn’t locate what he desired. So when Elizabeth went on her journey and then found Jack.. Jack used her for his advantage! He took advantage of Elizabeth’s feelings by telling her if you want to save Will you have to want to find the chest of Davy Jones! In order to get will back.. That’s why Jack gave her the compass. Jack knew if he couldn’t figure what he wanted out he was going to get it out of Elizabeth. Since Elizabeth now wants to find the chest of Davy Jones to save will. This gives Jack the huge opportunity to find the chest to stab the heart in it. But instead he wants to control DavyJones before killing him. Jack sparrow is not stupid! When will was trying to stab the heart towards the end of the second movie. Jack knows just because Davy Jones is dead, does not mean the Kraken will be stopped as well. And you’re telling me Jack is dumb after part 1?? As for Beckett. He was a well executed villain who uses dialogue and negotiation to control people. The Reason why Beckett didn’t fire his cannons at worlds end. Was because it would be totally out of his character to use weapons. Beckett uses certain words to get through people and how to control them behind the scenes. Beckett at the end of the movie had nothing left to negotiate with. Davy Jones was dead, Jack sparrow is alive and well. Will Turner is now the new captain of the Flying Dutchman. Beckett had literally nothing to use against on people. He was caught in shocked and he decided to die.. Anyways I could defend the Gore Verbinski’s Trilogy all night. His trilogy is an underrated trilogy. It had great character writing and amazing detail of its depth. Also Will vs Davy Jones!!! 😈😈😈 when Will challenging Davy Jones. Davy Jones asks him how do you know about the key? Will replies and says, that's NOT part of the game is it? 😏 You can STILL walk away!! 😏 As for pirates 4/5 they are not even Canon they are filler movies. The story ended at worlds end! ☠️

The 2 nearest movie theaters to me started doing like receipt-type tickets instead of the usual ones and I was genuinely sad. Definitely not as cool as the normal ones that's for sure. So I haven't been collecting them recently, but I do have a pretty large collection as well!

I've always loved Bruce Almighty and I never thought about how much of a riot Jim Carry comedies must have been for theater-goers back then. I'd go back in time just to see an early screening of The Mask, Bruce Almighty, or Liar Liar with a group of people just to see their reactions.

I never thought of collecting movie tickets until my fiancee and I got together. She liked the idea of saving the memories and now we have a little collection of the films we've seen together over the years, in different places, even different countries, each with memories attached from those points in our relationship!

Loved seeing this. I have been collecting my movie tickets myself for 10 years, dating back as far as The Avengers. I have collected tickets for films both good and bad, and even if I don’t like a film, nothing beats slipping it into my folder.
Chapel Hill was also my childhood theater (rest in peace), Kent Plaza was my college theater, and now living in Cleveland I try to see shows whenever I can. Cleveland has some beautiful, beautiful theaters.

Honestly, this is one of my favorite videos that you've done in a while.
you showing your Dark Knight tickets with the date and everything made me come to the realization that I somehow convinced my mom to take me to that movie when I was 8 lol
I started collecting tickets in 1980... they were just little stubs and didn't have the movie printed on them. I was 13 in 1981 and went to see "Raiders of the Lost Ark." That's when my obsession with movies started... and I moved to CA and went to film school as soon as I graduated. Kept collecting those stubs until about '92 and lost track of them in one of my many moves. I can remember seeing each of the Indiana Jones films for the first time... I worked in several movie theaters in high school, college, and beyond, so I often would see movies 5+ times... I can recall the feelings and atmosphere of many of those outings. Thanks for bringing us on the walk down memory lane!
I remember being in 5th grade and seeing movie stubs on a friend's dresser and thought, "Wow what a great idea to collect those!" So I did! I have such a huge collection now, my oldest being Dr. Dolittle from 1998 I believe. It was fun watching you relive your theater experiences and seeing someone else as excited to collect stubs as I am!!

OMG....I'll be damned....I truly thought I was the ONLY person who saves his movie tickets !!!!! I started only back in the early 2000's but when I look back on them...the memories of each movie experience is as clear as yesterday! Wish I had thought of it years before...can only imagine all the schlock I've seen over the years along with the mega blockbusters!
So jealous of some of the films you got to see in theatres, Chris. I too collect movie tickets and it’s cool to sometimes flip through the memories.
After watching this, I regret ever throwing away all movie tickets in the trash :(

This is amazing Chris! It's great to see other lovers of cinema collect tickets over the years. I kept a collection of tickets ever since I was young. Unfortunately, the first half of my collection got washed in the washer when I left my wallet in a pair of jeans. I had Phantom Menace, Jurassic Park III, The Mummy Returns, Star Trek Nemesis, The Matrix Reloaded, and more. Tickets like the memory of sitting in a theater auditorium is something that can't be replicated with watching a film on digital at home.
Always wanted to do something like this but always thought there's no point because I never started before. Changed that mentality back in September when I saw No Time To Die, and I've been collecting all my tickets since then. Hope I can look back in a few years time and see an amazing collection that I have

Pre-pandemic, my girlfriend and I would always take photos in the photo booth after a movie and we would both save the strips and write what movie we saw together on the back of the strip. I have only maybe 8-10 and since the photo booth opened back up again, I would love to start collecting them again.

Dude, totally bringing back memories with this. I was a newlywed at the time you start off with here. My wife and I pretty much went to the movies every weekend back then and we saw most of these. Great times.

This brought back a lot of memories for me from when I used to save movie tickets (before my local theater stopped printing them). I was inspired by my aunt who influenced my love of movies. She has a few of the tickets you showed here saved under a glass cover on her desk. This video was a lot of fun!

19:55 for me I wish I'd seen Master and Commander in the threatre, the sound design even through the cheapest headphones I owned while watching it on a car Journey, is still one of the most immersive soundscapes I've ever witnessed in a movie. I can't imagine what it must have been like in the cinema.
Great collection Chris! It’s great to see others that have collected movie tickets for 20+ years! The first ticket I held onto that began my hobby of collecting them was for Starship Troopers in ‘97… I was 10 years old lol

I keep mine in a huge Geauga Lake (long-gone Northeast Ohio amusement park) beer stein that my brother gave me. It resides in a kitchen cupboard and I make it a practice to toss my stubs in as soon as I get home from the theater. The first one I have is either from Batman '89 or Batman Returns.
It’s really cool to see a lot of the theaters I’ve frequented (Kent Plaza, Chapel Hill, Independence, etc.) on the tickets here! And a lot of them on my tickets. Cool stuff man!
I love special videos like these. My heart stopped for a second when I saw the Knockin on Heaven's Door ticket. The earliest one's I have saved might be from 2012 but I didn't start doing it consistently until around 2014/15.
I thought I was the only weird one that for years collected movie tickets, I still have some but most of them are all blurry due to how old they are😅 but yeah I hate that theaters don't give out tickets anymore as often, at my local theater they give it to out but you gotta hand it back once entering, so it makes no sense to me.
Yeah I collect too. The ink doesn't hold up well. I hate that AMC doesn't print stubs like they used to. They'll print it on thin receipt paper if you ask though. It's not the same but I get it anyway.

I do everything digital when it comes to the theater experience now. It's just so convenient to get in and out. I buy online, walk straight up to get scanned, and grab my food. I do miss the momento of having a ticket stub though. I remember being a kid and having to make sure I had the ticket stub with me if I had to get up to use the restroom so I could be sure I could get back in -- even though nobody ever checked. I still have a ton left from when I was a kid. Jurassic Park is a big one for me. One of my all-time favorite movies and I remember every second of that entire experience with my mom and sister. Tickets are definitely a great way to keep a memory fresh and I regret not having more stubs saved.

I always thought I was the only one who did this! My earliest (and the moment I decided to keep these damn things) is from when I was a kid in November of 1988, "Oliver & Company," and my thousands of tickets now go up until the Top Gun Maverick pre-buys I have for Friday. I still print the digital stubs, too, so I can add them in. Nicely done, Chris! 🎬 🎞 🎥
EDIT (to make you 🤢) - I saw Phantom Menace in 1999, starting at midnight on opening day, THIRTEEN regrettable times in the theater, plus a 14th if you count that 3D re-release in 2012! Why did I do this to myself? I think it's because I got my license the week before the movie came out and, as I was the kid with the car, I became the defacto OG-Uber for the summer that was all about new Star Wars. Yes, it's a bad movie...but WOW did I immerse myself in it.

I used to save mine, I think I still have a few from around 2012. But all of the theaters around me started printing them on receipts basically which for some reason made them feel less special, plus I buy them digitally on my phone sometimes, but I might start saving them again going forward. This inspired me.
Wow, The Time Machine?! I feel like nobody remembers that one. I remember seeing a trailer for it when I saw - I think - Cats & Dogs that summer. Funnily enough, that same year I took a sci-fi elective class at my junior high where our teacher one day showed us the original Time Machine and said, "They're coming out with a new version of it," but those are all I've heard of the movie. Also I'm so glad you've done this video! I don't see movies in the theater all that often (even pre-pandemic I didn't really) so I've never thought to keep my ticket stubs, although I think I still have the one for when I saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine during a college study abroad in Ireland.
My first ticket I saved and still have is for Spider-Man, I was 4 years old. I lost my god damn child mind during that movie. I still remember, I was in head start. Just got out of class, and went to the theaters. I remember watching shred and seeing the first trailer for Spider-Man, start screaming lol most movie I see day one, opening night. Movies and theaters are a truly special experience that can be taken for granted. I’ve seen classics that have changed my life. Love your collection Chris!
Haha yes, I'm not alone! Turned 23 this year, so Ang Lee's Hulk was actually one of my earliest theater experiences I can remember!
One of my favorite things about having a movie ticket collection is just seeing how far back they go, like when you come across one that was from like 5 or 6 years ago and it just gives you that warm, fuzzy nostalgic feeling because it’s like “Wow, I can’t believe I saw *that* movie in the theater” Unfortunately I can no longer collect movie tickets because the theater I used to go to that handed out those tickets closed and the theater I go to now doesn’t do that sort of thing but it’s still fun looking back on the ones I did collect
I used to do this when I was young but... I just couldn't afford cinema a lot, so I kind of let it fall by the wayside. It really brings back that feeling though, awesome video Chris. :)

My very first ticket I have is for The Amazing Spider-Man. Dang. Time flies. I kinda stopped collecting tickets but restarted with Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
I wish I was able to get a physical ticket for Sonic 2.

I’m so happy you shared this. When I was a kid I had a diary and I used it for movie reviews. The two I can remember at the top of my head were Happy Feet and X-Men the Last Stand. I have saved movie and concert tickets for the longest time and I’m happy I’m not the only one. Watching you evolve into someone like me just loving movies into actually working on movies is inspirational. Don’t stop Chris!

Felt very sad as all of my movie tickets were kept in my wallet as a kid and after years of collecting them when I was in high school so dickhead took my wallet and purposely destroyed my tickets (I had no money to steal). Broke my little nerd heart. My local theatre stopped giving out proper ticket stubs not long after (just flimsy paper receipts) so I stopped collecting.
Maybe this is a sign you should start collecting or finding a way to remember the movie theater experiences you have again 🙂

I’ve been collecting movie ticket stubs since I was a kid, going back to maybe 2006/2007. A few years ago, my friend made me a shadow box to display them in and add more. It’s easily one of the best things she’s given me. It’s cool to see so many other people that collect their stubs.

My Dad and I went to the movies every Saturday morning for decades. When he passed I found all of our ticket stubs. They are proudly displayed on the wall in my movie room now.

The Phantom Menace and Revenge Of The Sith came out today 23 and 17 years ago. The Phantom Menace is not great, But Revenge Of The Sith is very good and is one of the best Star Wars movies.
Revenge of the Sith is the first and only SW film I've seen in theaters thus far.

Now I wish I had held onto the 52 ticket stubs from viewing Star Wars back in 1977.

I loved this as both a movie fan and a scrapbooker.
I'm now 57 and have been going to movies since my dad took me to see Monkies Go Home in 1967. My dad started taking me to horror movies when I was about 7 or 8 (much to moms chagrin). I wish I had saved my tickets.
When I started scrapbooking, I started saving tickets. Prior to that I only saved tickets if they were heavy metal related. I actually have my Clint Eastwood Dead Pool signed by Slash and Trick or Treat signed by Gene Simmons. I hate tickets are going away. We didn't want to risk Top Gun being sold out over the weekend so we got tickets in advanced so no actual ticket. Hopefully they won't go completely go away like concert tickets have. Now I just have a collection of wristbands!
I though all your friends were “social justice warriors” 😂 took me a minute to put two and two together. I’m an ex Mormon. I totally get the pain you went through and the trauma I’m sure you deal with still by choosing to leave and live your true life. Most people will never understand just how difficult it is to escape the grips of an intense religion like JW or LDS. You posting your story for the world to see is seriously heroic. Keep it up.

Working in Film/TV as a stunty means I can claim every movie ticket, video game receipt, live show ticket etc...on tax. It's all research on my field and industries haha. So I have a huge collection, but they're in envelopes, grouped with other envelopes of boring tax stuff.
I think I will pull them all out and make a book like that. It's a pretty cool way to revisit some good memories! Thanks for sharing.

For anybody who is always praising the first movie to be the best. I have been studying 1-3 and I constantly re-watch them. Pirates of the Caribbean does not go downhill in writing after the first movie. That is your business to believe that opinion everyone else goes with.
Dead man’s chest gave the characters more depth! Elizabeth and William barely have anything to work with in the first movie. William’s relationship with his father that was hinted in the first movie of his father‘s existence. Paid off wonderfully. William’s character had way more in depth now and you have something to truly care about him for. You get both perspectives when you understand their Reunion! Bootstrap didn’t want Will to become a pirate like him, he wanted him to have a free life from the pirate life. William had a hard time accepting he was half Pirate but when he accepted his life and his father… He has a new journey to stab the heart of Davy Jones to set his father free.
And you’re implying William is better in the first movie just because he wanted to save the girl he loved? William in the second movie now has Elizabeth as a lover. And now a new journey to rescue his father someone else he cares about. And this became a difficult situation when bootstrap told Elizabeth at world‘s end. William has to make a decision. Either don’t kill Davy Jones so he can be with you. Or he does kill Davy Jones and set me free, but he won’t be able to be on land for 10 years. If I were him I wouldn’t pick me! :/ The emotional weight on William’s character gets better and better.
Elizabeth in the first movie was just a damsel in distress girl. She wasn’t useless in the first movie but you get the point. In the second movie, Elizabeth learned to wield a sword and she used it in the battle. She pulled a gun to Beckett‘s head.. went on her own journey to save will.
She has grown a lot since the first movie who was just an innocent girl! Elizabeth got better as a character in 2 and 3!
As for Jack sparrow. He does not become a joke at all in all 3 movies.
Jack sparrow is at his best in the second movie and in the third movie. There was a moment in dead men’s chest… Where Jack didn’t know what he truly wanted so the compass couldn’t locate what he desired. So when Elizabeth went on her journey and then found Jack.. Jack used her for his advantage! He took advantage of Elizabeth’s feelings by telling her if you want to save Will you have to want to find the chest of Davy Jones! In order to get will back.. That’s why Jack gave her the compass. Jack knew if he couldn’t figure what he wanted out he was going to get it out of Elizabeth. Since Elizabeth now wants to find the chest of Davy Jones to save will. This gives Jack the huge opportunity to find the chest to stab the heart in it. But instead he wants to control DavyJones before killing him. Jack sparrow is not stupid! When will was trying to stab the heart towards the end of the second movie. Jack knows just because Davy Jones is dead, does not mean the Kraken will be stopped as well. And you’re telling me Jack is dumb after part 1??
As for Beckett. He was a well executed villain who uses dialogue and negotiation to control people. The Reason why Beckett didn’t fire his cannons at worlds end. Was because it would be totally out of his character to use weapons. Beckett uses certain words to get through people and how to control them behind the scenes. Beckett at the end of the movie had nothing left to negotiate with. Davy Jones was dead, Jack sparrow is alive and well. Will Turner is now the new captain of the Flying Dutchman. Beckett had literally nothing to use against on people. He was caught in shocked and he decided to die..
Anyways I could defend the Gore Verbinski’s Trilogy all night. His trilogy is an underrated trilogy. It had great character writing and amazing detail of its depth.

Like is that just a photo album or...? because I have a collection I started a year ago and they are stacked up in an old DVD case but they have started to fade already due to them being sensor-printed on paper. You actually got me to start keeping my own collection. It’s been growing since 2017.
The 2 nearest movie theaters to me started doing like receipt-type tickets instead of the usual ones and I was genuinely sad. Definitely not as cool as the normal ones that's for sure. So I haven't been collecting them recently, but I do have a pretty large collection as well!
AMC gives the receipt stubs too. Such a shame. I get them anyway though for the memories.
This makes me wish I would have saved my movie tickets. Remembering those experiences and where you were at in life are priceless.

I've always loved Bruce Almighty and I never thought about how much of a riot Jim Carry comedies must have been for theater-goers back then. I'd go back in time just to see an early screening of The Mask, Bruce Almighty, or Liar Liar with a group of people just to see their reactions.

AvP is like a nostalgic “guilty pleasure” of mine even though I don’t feel an ounce of guilt for liking it. But when I tell people I like it I get weird looks, idk why.
I never thought of collecting movie tickets until my fiancee and I got together. She liked the idea of saving the memories and now we have a little collection of the films we've seen together over the years, in different places, even different countries, each with memories attached from those points in our relationship!

Loved seeing this. I have been collecting my movie tickets myself for 10 years, dating back as far as The Avengers. I have collected tickets for films both good and bad, and even if I don’t like a film, nothing beats slipping it into my folder.

Chapel Hill was also my childhood theater (rest in peace), Kent Plaza was my college theater, and now living in Cleveland I try to see shows whenever I can. Cleveland has some beautiful, beautiful theaters.

I got to see Fifth Element and Spirited Away in theatres. Was on the verge of happy tears from start to finish. Especially Spirited Away…man.
