Huge tub shroom fan. Not supposed to sit flush otherwise it can’t collect the hair in it. I take it out after every shower to get the hair off. I also bought silicone train stoppers from Amazon so I could more easily swap between shower/tub usage.
Same! You take it out after/before each shower to take off the hair anyway, so i dont see how that is such a big deal. Its way better than letting all that hair down your pipes.
Helpful tip for the cuticle oil, I got some of those twist up brush lip gloss containers and I added some to a few and now I have them scattered around the house. Kitchen, purse, work desk, etc. so it’s easy to grab and apply as needed
I haven't had any issues washing mine =/ I've washed them once a month for over a year and they're still great. I'm sorry that you didn't get the same quality
For nail oil, what I've read is that Jojoba oil is what you really want for quick absorption. Other oils don't permeate and recreate the naturally occuring oils on your skin and nails nearly as well as Jojoba. I'd suggest the cuticle oil pen from Holo Taco.
I came to say the same thing! Holo Taco all the way for quick and easy. My dumb butt bought some Sally Hansen in a pinch, and... well, I wished I had just waited for the Holo Taco one is all I can say.
silk is the material/fibre and satin is the texture/weave - that's a polyester satin pillowcase :) manufacturers will try and trick you and say silkY or just straight up lie, but if it's not horrendously expensive then it's not real silk. the silkworms can't go any faster so the price of silk will never come down
I have one too. I’d say they’re not really something you leave in the drain full time. I take mine out after each shower to clean it off and let it dry out.
I bought a plastic one first and didn’t care for it. Then they came out with a metal one and I love it. It’s not meant to sit flush with the top of the drain. I have super short hair and I clean it probably every other shower. I am not a bath person, so I don’t have to switch it back-and-forth I just leave it in the drain
A great cuticle oil is just straight jojoba oil. It soaks in well and closely mimics our natural oils. I bought a bottle of that and also nail oil pens you can fill up and just leave all over the house so you see them and are like "Oh I should oil up"
I have a version of the neck light. I not only use it for reading but also for anything fiddly that isn't practical to hold under a work light. Stitching holes closed, cutting out kids labels, etc. I use it at least once a day. It is more comfortable for reading if you sit more upright vs leaning directly on it on your pillow.
FYI, the neck light is also fantastic for crafting. We use ours for knitting and crocheting at night or places that have dim lighting. Works awesome and you don't have to adjust as much as when you are reading
The Tub Shroom: that's exactly how it's supposed to fit, like you show in your video. My long hair shed a lot and I used to have to Drain-O the tub once a week, until the Tub Shroom. Now I don't have that problem anymore. I just take the thing out once a week to clean the hair out of it. In regard to the switching back and forth between the Shroom and the plug, I bought a silicone tub plug (basically just a big round piece of silicone) that I place on top of the drain. Every time I need to fill up the tub, I take the Shroom out, place the silicone pad on top of the drain, fill the tub up, then put the Shroom back in the tub when I'm done.
My favorite foundation brush I own is the Sonia Kashuk 168 foundation brush. $10 at target. Soft and dense. Love it. So there are affordable options for brushes out there. Also, I LOVE Bedsure sheets, comforters and pillowcases. I have this super soft and comfy comforter that I’m obsessed with. I have a similar one for my oldest daughter too. So from now on if I need bedding I instantly look to Bedsure.
I have a neck light similar to the one you got! I originally bought it so I could crochet in darker areas but I've only used it to go in the basement without having to turn the lights on lol. Honestly works well if it's late at night and you don't want to carry a flashlight/use your phone light Also 9:10 reminded me of my first year of college, I sat behind a girl who wore a perfume that smelled SO familiar and for the entire semester I tried so hard to figure out what it smelled like. I never figured it out 🥲
I have brushes from BS-Mall and I LOVE them. They are so much better than my real technique brushes. They are softer, have worn better, and distribute product better. I have a blue and black set, I think I’ve had it a year now and absolutely love them.
It should be noted, BS-Mall has tons of different brush options. They have sets that are only for face or eyes. I got a face brush set and replaced by RT brushes with them. My brushes had little to no fall out compared to my RT brushes that have shed every wash.
Love the tub shroom and yes, it does stick out but my shower usually has the curtain closed so I only see it when I'm in there. I almost spit out my coffee when Rach said "if you have a husky" lol ...no dogs here but definitely a whole lot of shedding and my husband loves the fact we don't have clogged drains anymore.
I found that CND Solaroil actually strengthened my nails as well as made the skin around my nails look great. I have very weak nails and I tend to bite the skin around my nails and am very impressed with the results. It also soaks in fairly quickly!
Fellow tub shroom lover and husky owner here! Like other have said, it isn't supposed to be flush, otherwise the hair wouldn't get trapped round it. If it does get chock full of hair and your water starts backing up then water can still escape through the holes in the top and go down the middle. Bathing my husky I've had to empty it like 4 times in 1 bath.. lol. Also, my boyfriend thought I was weird for sticking my hair to the bathroom wall and didn't believe he had a significant amount of hair going down the drain too every time he showers, til he saw the shroom catching his black hairs xD So not only saves us from snaking the drain, but also turned him into a believer.
Few days late to reply but I had bought that same neck light (brand and everything, just in black color instead of pink) back in 2021 after I saw another youtuber try it out. I crochet, and I tend to do darker colors, so having the neck light is VERY helpful for me. I use it all the time (used it today even), and it still has just as good of a battery life as the day I got it. I cannot recommend it enough.
I have been dark amethyst for quite a few years now and I have found if I use a product with bleach in it and let it sit for 15 minutes before I clean it takes the color right out like magic. I literally just had this argument with my husband yesterday because there’s a purple stain at the bottom of my sink and I said I’ve been doing this how many years now do you see any previous stains?🤣
I have the book light and have had it now for 2 years. I love it ❤ best thing I've invested in. And because its rechargeable if it runs out whilst I'm in the car reading (obviously not driving) I can plug it in to charge. It does however last forever without charging x
Rachel, have you seen those little refillable pens that you fill up with your choice of cuticle oil? They’re designed for “on the go”, but I imagine they’re neater for everyday use as well. I think they have a click top and a little brush in the end (think nail polish brush).
The tubshroom has a stainless steel one with a plug combo. Then you can easily switch the two for baths without having to reattach the twisty plug in the tub. They also have one that goes over the shroom, but sometimes that leaks a little and doesn’t hold the water for baths, so the plug one is better.
Tubshroom Lover! Mine is blue. Yes, it’s supposed to stick up a bit. That’s how it catches the hair. My son and I use it when we shower and when Hubby goes for a soak, he puts it on the edge of the tub. After my shower, there’s always a decent size ring of hair it’s caught (I wash my hair twice a week). Same for my son whose hair is 70s heartthrob singer length as well as him having a beard. Don’t give up on it. Encourage Julia to use it when she showers. You’ll be amazed how much it will catch. Once she’s done it a few times, it’ll become habit. Start warming the water and pop in the Tubshroom. Once you’re done, put the hair in the towel wrap, take out the Tubshroom, remove the ring of hair and put it back in its designated spot for next time. Encourage Luke to do the same once he prefers showering to baths. Guys shed too. Your drain will thank you. As for the silk pillowcases, I wash mine in a lingerie bag when I wash my bras. I dry mine over the shower rod and because they’re real silk, they air dry really fast. I get mine when they’re on sale on Amazon.
Ooo nautica voyage was my bf’s cologne for a while, we both loved it. I bought him a different one but when he’s out of that I’m going to repurchase the nautica one, it’s so nice 👍🏼
Jojoba oil is the oil most similar to what our nails/cuticles produce!! You can get just a bottle of that from Amazon and dropper bottles or fillable brush pens, and if you want a little bit of scent add in skin safe essential oils, or vitamin E gel. I’ve been using a blend like that for years and it’s helped my nail health tremendously! Also, it absorbs into your hands super well, and doesn’t stain as much as other oils
I have tried the same cuticle oil but unscented. I didn’t like it bc just like you mentioned.. it’s oily. I prefer Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream. Works wonders! I work in warehousing, dealing with boxes daily and this has saved my skin on my fingers!
That's so weird! I have that exact brush set and it's really very good! I've had them 10 years and they've never shed. The eyeshadow brushes are my go to!
Use this on tub. Works amazing. Powerstone Pumice Stone Toilet Bowl Cleaner with Handle (1-pack) - A Solution for Hard Water Stains on Toilets, Grills, Tiles, Grout & Pools.
Shop Miss A has some FANTASTIC brush sets that have lasted me a long time. Reading light--I use mine for crafting. Crochet/knitting. Especially the darker or fluffier yarns. Huge win. The tub shroom? I live in a house built in the 40s, and the plumbing sucks. This saves us majorly on plumber bills. Haha.
The tub shroom is supposed to fit like that to catch the hair. We have them in our tub shower combo if you have hair loss they work great. Yes you have to take them out to plug your drain. But you also have to take them out anyways to remove the hair. Kids don’t lose much hair anyways. Dogs and adults do.
I have that nail oil. And yes, I was influenced. It's good, but it's so big that I feel like it's a lifetime supply. It's not a bad value for what you get and it does absorb faster than others I've tried.
I have it in milk & honey, and it smells so good! But I agree, it definitely feels like a lifetime supply, especially since a little goes a long way in my experience. I really like it 😄
For nail oil....the Bliss Kiss nail oil pens are AMAZING. I also have weak, bendy nails and they are at their best with the nail oil daily and it doesn't leave a greasy residue
I love twinkledt’s Nail Honey! her oil blend is very nice and I’ve found that it absorbs quickly and makes my cuticles look so nice and makes my nails feel much stronger as they grow. I know you have nut allergies and she has versions of her blend without almond and/or coconut oil for those with allergies!
Tubshroom I have used the regular plastic and yes they work but they get gross quick, they have a metal one and that one is great cause you can actually clean it and will last longer.
Nautica Voyage has been around for years! My ex used to wear it back in 2008 lol It's a great cologne, I always loved it. But I could never have that scent in my life again lol
I do agree with you on the brushes but also your person preferences are huge 😂😂 Spectrum brushes are always on offer in the uk and I’d always recommend them
Ok for the limescale mark on your bath tub - try citric acid diluted in warm water. Once dissolved Spray and leave on. It is the best for these marks. Got rid of some very old ones I had on my old sink plug hole. Just rinse after as sticky.
Tub Shroom is supposed to stick above the drain by 1/2" or so. I have to clean a lot of hair off it after every shower, so I just take it out and clean it and leave it on the side beside the drain plug.
I have been using a tub shroom for idk 10 years now maybe. The way yours fit was fine. I used to have to snake my drain all the time and have not had to once since getting a tubshroom. The plastic ones I disinfect weekly and replace every 6 months to a year. I have the metal stainless steel one now and haven't replaced it in 2 years.
I must have gotten lucky with my brushes! I got the same ones and wash them once a month for over a year and i havent had any come apart. Of course, I also have some better quality ones for the things that matter the most to me (dense brush and blush brush primarily) But i might look into those colourpop ones still lol
I have a really similar brush set, but it was from Aliexpress. It has been probably 7 years and those brushes are still in very good condition but as you said I used probably seven of them (regularly) and the rest of it is still in my drawer untouched.
Elf brushes are surprisingly soft and nice quality for cheap i do not like the white handle brushes they have but all the others are amazing my skin has a weird sensitivity and im also older with hooded eyes real techniques are also good i found when it comes to amazon reviews i got to the 1 star and start there and go thru the 2 and 3 star before i believe the 5 star
The tub shroom saves my life lol it's supposed to be up like that and you need to take it out often to clean it. I have one that has a stainless steal looking top so it 6 very nice. It saves me from having to snake my drain with is soooooooooo gross 😝
i bought that neck lamp for crocheting. i personally didnt think it stayed in place very well and didnt seem to help me much. i decided to just get a light that goes around your forehead lol
How are you a big OXO fan but haven't tried the OXO Hair Catch Drain Protector? its like a 2 part tub shroom so it fits nicely in a tub drain, and I use an OXO tub stopper that lays over the top of it so not too much work to switch between bath and shower.
While I'm not a husky or hairy dog, I love the Tub Shroom!! I use it in my utility sink where I wash my hair (so maybe that makes me part-Husky?!!). I've always washed my hair in a sink, either kitchen sink or my utility sink where my hair color, shampoo & conditioners can be rinsed off without coloring/affecting my body skin and a cold water rinse is far more comfortable! So my Shroom (not sure if I got the Tub, Sink or whatever Shroom) does not sit flush and I'm not sure it's supposed to. You want the water to be able to drain through the little holes but the 'fingers' around the bottom catch the hairs. And wow does it ever catch the hairs! I never realized I lost so many hairs!!! I'm convinced it has saved us tons of $$ by not sending all of my hairs down the drain! This would not work with a tub IMHO due to the need to stop the drain from draining.... But I do love mine!!
I have that set of brushes (or one exactly like it but maybe a different brand), and I use 1. I’ll use the others to dust makeup off of my counter sometimes but that’s it.
I put my bedsure pillow cases through the dryer on low heat all the time. They haven't pilled, shrunk, or gotten weird in any way. I don't have room to hang things to dry, so if anyone else is curious, you don't need to.
I have those make up brushes, I bought them to start doing make up every day. i have had them for 3 years and my daughter now uses them every day and they have held up. we also wash the brushes often. so for someone getting into make up they are perfect!
My dads go to was and continues to be javonne musk but Nautica is the only thing that ever made him diverge from it lol it was wild to see it on here I love that ❤
I have a tub shroom, tho i cant remember if its the name brand or a similar version. Mine is silver/ chrome & it has been amazing at catching so much hair. I was also made aware of the soaps & body washes that contribute to gunking up the drain. For under $10 & not needing to draino or snake the drain in the 2+ years that I've had it is well worth it for me. I also have 1 for the bathroom sink & discovered that my grandma had been hand washing things in that sink causing cat hair, dust bunnies, & lint to muck up that drain. The shroom catches mostly all of it & its way easier to pop it out to clean that it is to drano & snake the whole thing.
With the BS-mall brushes, I think it depends on what set you get. I’ve bought several sets over the years and I did have one that was not great but all the others were great.
The tubshroom thing shouldn’t sit flush with the floor of the tub, that’s how you can grab it to clean it out. I have one in my tub/shower and it’s been amazing. Highly recommend it.
Elf and Real techniques make really good affordable brushes in my opinion. I have a bunch of them especially complexion brushes. Love them❤
Came here to say real techniques is a solid budget friendly brush option!
I agree wholeheartedly. I love my elf brushes
I’ve been using the double sided RT eye brushes since middle school and their face brushes. They are so good!
Moda also make very good, inexpensive brushes. They always have sales. 90% of my brushes are Moda, or the It! brushes for Ulta. I buy them during the 21 days of Beauty sales and get them for 50% off.
I've bought MANY brushes from MANY brands and elf is the only brush I continuously buy again and again.
Huge tub shroom fan. Not supposed to sit flush otherwise it can’t collect the hair in it. I take it out after every shower to get the hair off. I also bought silicone train stoppers from Amazon so I could more easily swap between shower/tub usage.
Same here. Both my son and I use it when we shower. He’s got 70s heartthrob hair and a beard. He sheds as much as I do.
Got my daughter the same brush set, after you wash them once, they basically are worthless. Better off just slowly building up a collection from sigma
@@ElizabethHoward it really does make a difference in absorption and greasy fingertips 😂
@@EllieBee512 soooo much so.
I have a bottle of jojoba oil with a drip top from Sephora. It’s their brand in a 100ml bottle. That’s what I use on my nails.
silk is the material/fibre and satin is the texture/weave - that's a polyester satin pillowcase :) manufacturers will try and trick you and say silkY or just straight up lie, but if it's not horrendously expensive then it's not real silk. the silkworms can't go any faster so the price of silk will never come down
Tub mushroom lover here. Mine doesn’t get flush w tub either. Works great for my long hair
I have one too. I’d say they’re not really something you leave in the drain full time. I take mine out after each shower to clean it off and let it dry out.
TubShroom is great! I have one in tub/shower & one in bathroom sink. Saves the plumbing!
I've got one of those! It's essential for me, I've got super long hair that sheds like crazy 😂
I bought a plastic one first and didn’t care for it. Then they came out with a metal one and I love it. It’s not meant to sit flush with the top of the drain. I have super short hair and I clean it probably every other shower. I am not a bath person, so I don’t have to switch it back-and-forth I just leave it in the drain
mine stays in the drain at all times and it catches hair like a champ
A great cuticle oil is just straight jojoba oil. It soaks in well and closely mimics our natural oils. I bought a bottle of that and also nail oil pens you can fill up and just leave all over the house so you see them and are like "Oh I should oil up"
I was coming here to say that. It's also not a really oily oil. It "dries down" a lot easier than cooking oils would.
Came to say the same. I add some lavender oil to mine just for the smell. Soaks in quickly which is what we all want
Exactly what I do! It works better than any other cuticle oil imo
Thank you for your review.
It’s also great to take on travel. Reading on plane without having to put on overhead light, camping, sharing a hotel room with someone sleeping, etc.
That light would be fantastic for crafting! Especially for stitching.
I literally just got a neck light so I can see my knitting/crochet better! It’s a good tool
FYI, the neck light is also fantastic for crafting. We use ours for knitting and crocheting at night or places that have dim lighting. Works awesome and you don't have to adjust as much as when you are reading
I'd be interested in a video on what makeup and skincare and the like that you would buy for your daughter when the time comes for that stuff.😊

Love the tub shroom! They do make other sizes for like showers. Hugely helpful to clean it instead of snaking your drain!
I love my book light. I’ve snaked it around my bed headboard and it’s perfect! So worth the money🩷

I bought the neck reading light for my mother. Her vision is not good so she needed extra light and I liked that you can point it where you need it.

The nautica perfume has been around forever! I wore it 15 years ago, in my “freshness” era (my husband bought it at Shoppers Drug Mart)
Nautica was a major guy cologne in the 90s!
I bought tub shroom for my sink and it’s Chrome and looks great. It sits up be design so I think it was fitting right
They came out with the chrome one after I got my blue one. Mine is about 6 years old.
ive been using the neck light for a couple years. I use it when I crochet black yarn and other dark colors.
I cross stitch and the neck light has been an eye saver! Highly recommend.
I really liked the deep dive into brushes! I am definitely a makeup beginner, and I learned a lot. I'm saving this to refer back to.
Try bartender’s friend on your tub stain, it even will get off purple hair dye. It’s my go-to for tub/sink/pan stains

Powerstone Pumice Stone Toilet Bowl Cleaner with Handle (1-pack) - A Solution for Hard Water Stains on Toilets, Grills, Tiles, Grout & Pools.
I’ve used the bedsure satin pillowcase for 3 yrs now. Love them. However I ALWAYS put them in the dryer 😂 never had any issues. Still good as new!
I have a BS Mall brush set, and they're very good quality. I wash them all the time, and they've held up great.
BTW, you're supposed to wash your brushes before first use.
My husband wears the nautica voyage. I definitely feel it’s a men’s fragrance.
Tubshroom I have used the regular plastic and yes they work but they get gross quick, they have a metal one and that one is great cause you can actually clean it and will last longer.
Ooooh pleeease share what blush you’re wearing?! So pretty!
Nautica Voyage has been around for years! My ex used to wear it back in 2008 lol It's a great cologne, I always loved it. But I could never have that scent in my life again lol
I do agree with you on the brushes but also your person preferences are huge 😂😂 Spectrum brushes are always on offer in the uk and I’d always recommend them
Nautica voyage cologne was EVERYWHERE my senior year of high school time period. Like 2006-2008. I can literally smell it as your describing it lol
Ok for the limescale mark on your bath tub - try citric acid diluted in warm water. Once dissolved Spray and leave on. It is the best for these marks. Got rid of some very old ones I had on my old sink plug hole. Just rinse after as sticky.
I just bought the Jess up brushes! They are so soft and a dupe for Morphe.
Of course, I also have some better quality ones for the things that matter the most to me (dense brush and blush brush primarily)
But i might look into those colourpop ones still lol
The bed sure pillowcases are the best silk pillowcases because the closure makes it so they don’t come off at night like all the rest I’ve used
I have a really similar brush set, but it was from Aliexpress. It has been probably 7 years and those brushes are still in very good condition but as you said I used probably seven of them (regularly) and the rest of it is still in my drawer untouched.
Thanks for sharing! I love when you test products.
Yes there are a few adjustable shoes that came out or convertible shoes I can say that I would love to see you review
The makeup brushes are super cute!
Did you change the frame rate on your camera? I like it.
I was thinking the same thing!
i bought that neck lamp for crocheting. i personally didnt think it stayed in place very well and didnt seem to help me much. i decided to just get a light that goes around your forehead lol
I’ll use the others to dust makeup off of my counter sometimes but that’s it.
my tub shroom sticks up that much as well, we usually empty it every other shower - iron and thyroid issues for both us ladies
the tub shroom is more for showers as it is meant to catch hair before it goes down the drain
Invest in a real silk pillowcase. Huge difference in my skin and hair. I previously had a satin one
@Rachel did you get a new camera or less (or both) as it all looks very sharp and clear ❤
I have that set and I completely agree. They're flimsy, and it has a ton of holes. No good foundation or concealer brushes.
Also excited for the video today, thank you, sitting here in Florida waiting to get plummeted by a hurricane
Aw, no! Hope it passes you quickly and without incident. ❤
Praying for safety for you all 🙏
Where can I get the sweater that u had on ??? ❤❤❤❤I love it,,,,🥰 Thaks for what u do,,,
It’s in one of her videos from the end of last winter or early spring.
Mulberry silk is very affordable and it does the job!
The milk and honey oil smells wonderful. I have repurchased many times
I have this one also and love it (when I remember to use it😅).
That is how the shroom sits
You made a change to your camera settings or something and I love it.
Loving the new camera style. Somehow it feels like we are in the same room.
The tubshroom thing shouldn’t sit flush with the floor of the tub, that’s how you can grab it to clean it out. I have one in my tub/shower and it’s been amazing. Highly recommend it.
Oooohhh I’m so excited for this video ❤
Ladies…I have that brush set. It’s lousy. Save your money.
You should do a video reviewing the buzzfeed Amazon shopping lists!!
