The Warhammer is heroic space fantasy. It is normal, then human could fight and win space marine. Rogue Trader, Dark Heresy and books have approved this possibility.
I saw our marine being shot down with one burst from a boss on a difficulty just above normal. No, he can not use cover, no you can not give him another armor, at least before that sh*t happened.

I feels like they manage to do Warhammer combat better than Wrath of Rightoeus, i got a headache playing Wrath but i can understand this game just fine. Either Pathfinder has more complex mechanic or Owlcat improve the UI and how they explain it better in game, it can be both.
Owlcat went from a developer I knew little to nothing about in 2022 to one of my favorite devs currently. The content output and the decision to make a 40K game was a great decision. Keep it up!
Hey there Owlcats, maybe you can help? I got the game for PS5 and I've got one problem - Argenta's Firearms Mastery doesn't seem to be working. It states that you should get a number of AP-free single shots equal to your weapon's rate of fire (so that's 4 for Argenta's bolter) and that it removes the 1 attack/turn limit (otherwise you couldn't get multiple free shots). Yet when I activate the ability and fire the first single shot, it does cost 1 AP, and all other attacks become greyed out. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? As I said, I'm on PS5.
Or you just do the Perun thing. Run the Navigator-Officer-Lady with 5 other officers. Get 5 extra turns at the beginning of combat, cause about 400 Damage before any enemy can act. A very pretty and well written game, just don't play it for the balance as there is none.

The khornate marine is adjacent to 2 enemies, and the two protagonists are adjacent to the marine, but not each other. Wrong footage? or is the text mistaken? does surrounding an enemy make parrying easier? or does forming a shield wall make parrying easier?

Quite literally the only thing that's GW related that I am interested in and excited about. Everything i have seen of the game so far has showcased the care and attention you are putting into the game. Not only that, and probably more importantly to me at this stage, the atmosphere, writing and mechanics are the closest thing to the 40K of old that I sincerely miss. Hell i was even fortunate enough to have some friends who had been in the hobby for long enough to actually get to play a campaign or two of the original Rogue Trader (as in the magazine that started it all) version of things. I am cautiously optimistic about this game, but legitimately hyped and I can 100% assure you that if you manage to pull off what the initial impressions of the game have given me I will be getting absolutely everything I can get my mits on associated with it.
Hahahaha, this is definitely the video I needed in the Alpha playtest. Thankfully the beta has the beginning of the game so I relearned all the stuff I'd forgotten since I last played a 40k rpg (Dark Heresy) back in 2010.
'Wounds'=Health its typical for most warhammer games. The idea behind it is how many wounds you can take before the character is defeated. It makes sense when you think about it.
Im super hyped for this game and dont want to nit pick but the combat animations seem a bit stiff. Keep in mind the bar for turn based combat games has risen high these last few years. Hoping for the best.
it looks like @Owlcat Games went away from the traditional pen&paper rpg called Rouge trader / dark heresy after basing the system in it and imported elements from D&D, Pathfinder, xcom and Chaos Gate. All in all I think it looks okay from what i see here even if my personal prefference would have been a pure rouge trader setup. I hope it works as well as it seems to here and look forward to playing it myself.
There are some Aspects of the P&P left in there. I hope it's enough to make it feel like Warhammer. Maybe a full 1:1 rules conversion didn't play very well.

i am so excited for this game but with christmas coming it may tempt me to be playing long hours so i don't miss family time oh well somethings are worth it LOL
7 days from now and still no price on steam (no time for preparation) and with this being financially worst month i'm probably going to have to wait for next year (sadly) to purchase it

I didn't play the beta much, enough to ascertain that I will want to play the game seriously, not enough to spoil my first playthrough feel with then-buggy state of the game, so I'm not intimately familiar with the system. But it does seem a whole lot more reasonable than Pathfinder system which I think is one of the worst parts of Kingmaker/Wrath (loading screens and bad implementation of minigames aside). After all, it's the worst of both worlds: complexity without payoff in depth - pretty much pure numbers game (especially on unfair where the game throws encounters like a pack of three enemies each with strength higher than an ancient dragon in tabletop rules, at level 5). Although at least character-building is sort of satisfying in 3.5e/PF, which cannot be said about AD&D/5e that don't have even that going for them, hopefully Rogue Trader delivers on that front and not just combat resolution. But I'm pretty excited.
Personal experience and opinion….the alpha and beta were better than full release bg3. And that was only with the first three acts. I paid 100 for alpha access and I woulda played twice that. I got my moneys worth. Honestly the only crpg that compares is PoE2.
looks like a fun game to be honest, star wars type of games are usually not my cup of tea but i wish u big succes with it (: will probably play it oneday anyways but im still too busy with your pathfinder games, which are great! so i'm sure this game will be good as well
I have a couple hundred hours between the alpha and beta. Rogue trader is 40k not Star Wars. And as much as I loved the pathfinder games; rogue trader is so much better. The way classes work…combat…exploration and most importantly the plot….. they are all better than pathfinder. And it gets rid of a lot of the bloat that was there with pathfinder. Personally I preferred the alpha and beta to full release bg3.
If you buy it from Owlcat directly they get 100% of the cut as opposed to Valve/Steam skimming off the top of their profits. So in a way you support the company more. Considering historically crpgs are more of a niche genre; so I can see why they would do this.

i must say playing the beta, the impacts of any form of dmg feel very satisfying, they really nailed how good combat feels in this one.

First time seeing a Chaos Space marine in a game fills me with dread, it's such a relief knowing we will get our own astartes attack wolf.

Why is it "missing" wounds and not "sustained"? Is it like a WH feature? Are characters go around carrying those wounds in the bag or something?
