have a 1998 johnson 9.9 four stroke. bought it used about a year ago. thay said coil pack bad shuts down after warms up . ran it on water hose had no issues. took to river shut down after warm up . came back on trolling motor. put on trailer rectifier went out burned up state. saved money got all parts including water pump. motor is over heating have had it apart 3 time . water comes out hose in outer housing , out exhaust at higher rpm. but water always comes out weep hole in 6 inch spacer to make it a long shaft.. I have no idea what to do now?????
Some people have fixed this by replacing the water pipe grommet at the power head, they get deformed and block the water flow, they said to pull the power head off, not the bottom end to get to it. Good luck! I have to do it too, I replaced water pump and have really weak pee coming out the tell tale.
