I had mine for one test night in my backyard. At 6’3 I couldn’t sleep on a 3.5” thick pad and not have either head or foot box touching. Awesome tent though. BA copper spur hv ul2 got me there with 3 more inches of floor length and I think steeper walls… I think they make an xl version now too. Then I graduated to the tarptent double rainbow Li and have oodles of head and foot space.

Military/Law enforcement should apply for a NEMO Pro Account. Insane discounts.

Love my Hornet. Got it on an REI sale a year a and a half ago on for $220. I found that when I have to pack out a wet rain fly, it fits in a one quart ziplock.

Agree 100%. Loved it so much I bought the 3P for when my wife and 7 year old come along. I have several other tents but the Hornets are the only ones I use now.

Absolute same, I got the original Hornet 2p when the OSMO came out and got it on a super deal at REI. Nicest lightest tent I own. We just did a bike-packing trip up the side of lake Michigan and it was perfect.

Hello, have you had any wet out on the head end with the rain fly so high up? Thank you 🎉🎉

I love my trekking pole tents….but I’m in the market for a “freestanding” tent for trips out west. Also, don’t want to drop a ton of money since I do 99% of my hiking in the northeast where trekking pole tents make a lot more sense.

I have used my Durston X-Mid out west many times without an issue. You definitely don’t need a freestanding tent to go backpacking out west. Happy hiking! 🤙🏼

Not sure if it's the same tent, (looks different) I recently purchased a Nemo OSMO Ultralight 2P tent, taking it out this weekend for a 2 night, 3 day through hike. Definitely better than a 1 person tent, most definitely not a 2 person tent. I set it up once, and it seemed short. We shall see this weekend.

I bought the Nemo Hornet 2 about 5 years ago, sight unseen and couldn't move it on quick enough. There's a reason it's so light weight. Felt like sleeping in a house of straw. Would never conceive using it above the treeline anywhere. It will probably be OK if your hiking on well protected tracks but anywhere with even just a moniker of wind, forget it.

Awesome video. Glad to see you’re one of the few remaining TH-camrs not using trecking pole tents 🎊 🥳🍾🎊🎉 #tentpolesrule #Irefusetoswitch

I’d recommend the normal Hornet over the Elite. The Elite is just way too tight even as one person using a 2p tent. Also it’s the most delicate tent I’ve ever encountered. Just save the money and carry the marginal extra weight for the regular model.

Would you say you could set this tent up quick enough in a rain storm so that the inside doesn’t get completely soaked?

I believe the MSR Freelight is the same weight as the Hornet. Unlike the Hornet the Freelight is symmetrical, having the same width at foot and head end. Please consider trying this tent so we can get a legitimate review.

Not made in the USA. It is designed in the USA and made in Taiwan. I have Nemo Hornet 1P.

I have the [slightly] older Nemo Hornet “Elite” 1p tent (the orange one). It’s super light, but you really have to be careful with it because the material is so delicate. I don’t have a space issue with the 1p, being a smaller female 😂. Going forward, I am going to try The One by Gossamer Gear. Yes, a trekking pole tent!
