Same same but smaller? Well, pretty much! Quartz, obviously, but less than half the price of the auto. Very good at what it does, but what it does is a littel bit niche. If you are looking for something in that niche though, this could be the one for you. Just so long as the crown doesn't fall off. CHeers, Jody

Hi, Jody. Regarding the logo, in an interview with the SWC owners, they said that due to stringent Swiss trademark regulations, it is rather difficult to change their logo. Sounded to me like they have heard feedback like yours about the logo, but it’s not as easy as just deciding on their own to change it on the fly.
That logo is terrible
Hopefully no spirits will fly out and melt us when you open the caseback. ;)

I think the watch is well worth the price tag. Being from a well respected micro brand and being made of grade 5 Titanium plus scratch resistance coating is a huge plus. It's a nice and clean unobtrusive design. Agree about the second hand though. It should line up with the subdial and it would be an easy fix.
This is a dream for my slim wrist! Love a slim and lightweight quartz. Really like when a watch company does two sizes of the same watch

Not sure I agree, looks like a good daily to me, light, small, comfortable and scratch resistant. And has the main function of displaying the time in spades. Even 100m, so you can leave it on to go swimming.

Love the X-1 lume! If you can find a watch that features X-1, that's definitely the way to go.

I'm getting this watch, perfect for my outdoor needs.
I've been just about daily wearing mine for the last month and just love the thing. The velcro strap is surprisingly nice for what it is and the lume is more than worth the iffy logo. I wish you would have shown the rest of the colorways and ranked them like you did on the Rogue Horology piece. I have the blue dial, red seconds that isn't being reordered. Solid review as always and thanks for introducing me to SWC in the first place!
Wow! Yes, that watch actually floats my boat. Very clean, very legible, great looking simple daily, great size. I will need to have a look at the ordering process or at very least putit on my list of watches i want. Would love to see what it looks like with different straps on, especially black leather, and multicolour Nato. Mind you, for a lot less, I just purchased the Timex Weekender, but this is a much nicer looking watch.
We’ll know all hope is lost when that intro gets a composition match 🤣

Jody I had to watch your video on this to see what you thought of it. I was one of the the first two people to get the protype in a few months ago. I'm more a mechanical watch guy but this puppy packs a nice punch for the $. SWC lume is killer 🔦🔦 Velcro strap bothered alot of people saying it reminded them of a smart watch strap, did not bother me one bit because so comfy. The bent spring bar got me though! I bent it back not realizing needs to stay bent! When I realized that and bent back lost it, so good they supply extra one on warranty card👊😜Good review. I have Bunker on way in tomorrow Can't wait!
I have the black yellow version from first run. It's perfect for sports where you don't want a lump bouncing around. I hope the crown was a one off. Lume and AR is stela on mine.

A lot to like about this watch. Titanium with a Ronda movement - nice. Excellent level of lume. Remarkable degree of anti-reflective undercoating. 38mm is too wee for me and that second hand would drive me nuts. It does make me regret missing out on the bunker version. That would have hit all the marks for me.🤔
Hopefully they will restock the Bunker, they done it at least 3 times in the past. I have one, really like it. It sorta made it a big hit with mid to low tier reviewers around the planet. Just keep on eye on their website and or the email.

I have to get a bunker. Titanium reacts much better on my skin than stainless steel. There isn’t a better deal in the watch world for an original design using the ETA or Selita imo

Great time piece for the money. But I also own the orient which has more charm and function. Still love the lightness of the swc
99.99% of the time I pass on Quartz but this seems like the quintessential grab-and-go watch. Looks like it'd slide under a cuff if you'd be so bold. The pop off crown ensures wearable comfort as well.
All those years working at the Sydney Opera House paid off in that intro!

It might not be fair, but when the crown falls off you can't help but think "if that's the result of a quality control check they're doing on a watch they're sending to Jody for review, then what on earth are they going to send me?" It's a shame because I disagree that this is a fairly generic field watch; the dial doesn't appeal to me but the case is rather lovely and distinctive. That crown though!
Was thinking that, and also think they have confidence in their product and didn't check it. Things like this happen, it's what they do about it. I have the Bunker, well worth the money, sold it 3 times, original have one of their divers with a Selita, had troubles with the movement, called them up, I the son answered, he sent an attached email shipping label, sent it off, it was returned in under two weeks repaired. That's why I like SWC, now living in the US or North America it's an easy and quick ship. Still I did shake my head on the crown, next time check it, since Jody is like 10,000 miles from Texas.

It’s a great company…I’m sure you would have zero issues with a fast and easy fix or replacement. These aren’t my style but if it were I’d go with this SWC.

Oh Jody, that kazoo playing! Don't quit your day job! Good review on what seems like a pretty nice watch but they lost me on the incorrectly sized second hand.
Currently, I'm more into mechanical watches but hey, this one looks super cool, I think. I could deal with that logo and forget about second hand extending over the minute track. I love simple dial layout, just need a watch to tell time and do it as fast as possible. If I find spare 200$ next month on my paycheck, I'm making this my beater !

Mmmm.... I don't see the allure in this one at all when you can get a better-looking automatic with nice domed crystal from Baltany for a little less (with awesome 2-tone lume and better W.W.W. styling), or you can get one that looks similar that has solar charging from Timex for $168. Both the ones I mentioned have sapphire, screw-down crowns, and 100M WR also. The ones I mentioned are an even more classic 36mm case size, which appeals to me (but not everyone).
I do love this style of watch, but there are a lot of watches on ali this is kind of look and size (38mm dirty dozen or California dial military watches) with mecha-quartz or nh35 movements for half the price. The only upsides I can see of this are swiss made and titanium. With a quartz watch that size I doubt it will make a noticeable difference to the weight and swiss made isn't a major plus for too many people.
Not a bad watch by any means, but I think for a lot of people it's in an awkward middleground
Seiko Alba Titanium field watch (branded as Lorus in some markets) is available for $60 and under.
although quartz field watches are aplenty at this price, if you want a titanium one (allergy issues, or you want a lighter watch) your choices are more limited. But there are still these Lorus and Alba of this ilk out there, not as cheap as they once were, and not as ubiquitous either, but you can still get the Lorus e.g. on ebay for £60.

How does X1 grade superluminova stack up to C3?
I think you should do your lume comparisons against a standard such as lumibrite.
If this field watch has top notch lume, then a titanium AR sapphire field watch like this is worth the $200.

A 3-year warranty makes it worth a punt. BUT up against the orient......not so sure. And once you pointed out that the small second hand is too long it killed it for me

That second hand would drive me up the wall. Give the Defender any day. Or at $200*, one of Marathon's polymer case quartz with tritium. (*Usually $225+, wait for a sale, bargain).
I think SWC was close to hitting the mark with this one, but I think I would pay the extra money for the bunker (not that quartz is bad, but the bunker just seems like the better complete package).

I’m not usually a fan of quartz, but man, there may be a place for a ridiculously light field watch that you can barely tell is on your wrist.

For me this begs the question "If they can't be bothered to QC a watch they're sending to a youtube reviewer with 200k+ subscribers, how well will they QC the watch they send to me?". The best warranty service is one you don't have to use at all.

To be fair the Lorus Lumibrite field watch I have is so light that I doubt the Titanium version would make a huge weight difference (unless you want a titanium watch to say you have a titanium watch ... btw eventually I'd love a titanium watch for that very reason).
So I wonder how much of a practical weight reduction there would be here between a bead blasted SS case and a Titanium one?
There have been a number of these from San Martin, Baltany etc. As of now think I'm still leaning automatic Baltany (lum looks better than the San Martin with the lumed sub-seconds hand).
I'd do a Vaer Quartz at that price, the SWC logo really squashes any desire I have for the watch.
