Thank you for this! I love seeing sewists and crafters finding unconventional solutions for a much better price 😎 I have bought the canvas painters cloth (and washed it twice in hot water to preshrink) for cutting up and sewing totes. I buy the ratchet straps to remove the crappy ratchets and just use that valuable 1” webbing which is sold by the foot in my fabric store. I buy paracord there (for the same reason as the 1” webbing). They also have grommets that work great on the gussets of totes. I use the little picks for everything and anything. For anyone also into various crafting projects, I might suggest the magnetic bowls are a fantastic way to keep little cutting dies from getting lost (I use one with my Spellbinder). They also sell a full size cordless hot glue gun if that is your thing. I am always finding stuff at HF, tiny precision pliers, clamps, utility knife, needle files, chip brushes, bench brush, the sky is the limit if you just walk the aisles with a crafty eye, knowing what it is you could solve for with such a tool. Fun stuff!
Thank you so much! Wow, that is a lot of really great ideas. Ya, buying 1" webbing by the foot is not cheap. I use it when making bags and motorcycle gear. I will have to check that out as an option. Thanks for sharing!
I have several of these items from Harbor Freight already. I always invite myself along when my hubby make a HF run. But the dent pullers and picks are a great idea and will be added to my sewing room soon. I also have some small clamps from HF that I use to hold rolls of quilt sandwich out of my way while quilting or machine embroidering
I was just telling my dad I need to go to harbor freight for a metal ruler bc I can iron over the hems on garments with it but I like that they come in yard sizes too
I buy my belts at Harbor freight for my belt driven 131 Pfaff. Its the rock tumbler replacement belt. I use vintage sewing machines too. I have around 17. My husband has come home with sewing machines for me!
Nice. That is a great idea. I will have to check that one out. Thanks! That is cool that you also collect vintage machines. Happy hunting and thanks for watching!
Great video. Good subject. My best buy at Harbor Freight is a small right angle screw driver by Pittsburgh, item number 92630. It has a ratcheting mechanism. It is perfect for removing the screws in a sewing machine throat plate. It only costs about $4.
Thank you so much! That is great. I actually use that same right angle screwdriver for that same purpose. It is wild how many machines have basically inaccessible throat plate screws right? Thanks for sharing!
Oh wow. I will have to check that out. One thing that I have figured out is that keeping fresh blades in the rotary cutter makes the work a ton easier. Thank you much!
Harbor Freight also has dental pick sets that have finer tips to get into tighter spots. I use a 4' power strip under the back side of my work station and the lighted magnifier on an arm usually stays clamped to the rear corner of the work station.
This video is excellent! I have those metal parts trays and hook magnets, but I will need to pick up the other stuff too. The "pink tax" is real.... similar versions of this stuff is significantly more expensive when marketed to sewers.
Thank you so much! Ya, it is always great when you can source your crafting tools and materials for less than the target marketing. Thanks for sharing!
These aren’t from A store, but the silverware rack from a dishwasher!!! Game changer. It can be hung or set on a table. Mine has scissors, tools, and seam guides.
By far my favorite is those white toolboxes in the sewing room. Last time I had fabric and tools come together was building a custom retractable awning, went from sewing to welding to customize a harbor freight hand winch to mount to a house, good times.
Lol. Ya, for sure. I have probably bought 10 sets of them over the years. I work on classic cars in my garage a lot, and they are always coming to the rescue :)
I found the magnets too strong in the trays for pins. I bought a 3-pack of trays made for pins on Amazon that I love--they have just enough magnetic power. I place one behind my sewing machine and just toss the pins at it--it's so cool, it catches them really well! You can also use them to pick up loose pins on the table or floor--just hover/sweep it over the surface. The suction handlebars work really well for rotary cutting rulers, too. I'm not sure about using a lot of strong magnets around any modern electronic or computerized sewing machine.
Great video with wonderful ideas. One caveat, however: if you have any computerized sewing machines around... as opposed to the older style, merely electric ones...be careful with magnets. They can really scramble computerized equipment,
I love your sewing area. I too have metal work tables and I'm going to buy one or two of the magnetic power strips. I'm also going to look at the white tool boxes.
For the long metal ruler, can it be used with your rotary cutter to trim down a quilt before putting the binding on? I am thinking the blade against the metal would wear down the blade fast. Thanks for these great ideas.
That is actually why we bought ours. We do a lot of quilting and it is nice for pre-binding and also for cutting folded yardage as well. We haven't noticed any problems with the3 blade cutting into the ruler, but I suppose it is possible. We change our blades pretty regularly anyway though. Great question. Thanks for watching!
I believe that all of Harbor Freight prices are readily available on their website. As far as comparing prices to other regions, you should be able to choose different stores through their store finder with different zip codes and compare different prices at each location.
Brilliant use of magnets in thread drawer!
Thank you so much! Thanks for watching!

I love Harbor Freight for my sewing supplies.
For sure. So many great products for the creative and productive minded :)
Great ideas! Try the rug cutting blades in your rotary cutter, the are 2 for $1.99. Thanks for a great video, I love watching you both!

You forgot the truly awesome telescoping magnet for picking up all those pins and clips off the floor.
Ooohh. That is also a good one. Thanks for that. You can never go wrong with a magnet :)
Oh yes! I have one of those also.

I am moving to a smaller sewing space; so happy to see the hacks for sewing supplies and how to use them!

Food cutting mats from Dollar Tree to make templates
Great idea! Thanks for sharing!
Ain’t this the truth!!!!! I use more in my sewing room than my kitchen. Use a hold punch for pin holes, and one to hang them. Love them.
These aren’t from A store, but the silverware rack from a dishwasher!!! Game changer. It can be hung or set on a table. Mine has scissors, tools, and seam guides.

I figured out all except the suction cups, now that is a great idea.
LOL. That is great. Thank you so much
Wow! I’m so impressed with your ideas! I can’t wait to incorporate some. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed. Good luck with your projects and thank you for watching!
Haha you must have several of those pick sets because they are actually a set of four. But as a woodworker myself I find those picks indispensable!
Lol. Ya, for sure. I have probably bought 10 sets of them over the years. I work on classic cars in my garage a lot, and they are always coming to the rescue :)

A variety box of pegs for your pegboard to hang up some things like scissors, rulers, etc..
That is a great idea! We have not incorporated pegboard into our space yet but it would add great convenience if we did. Thanks for sharing!
Great ideas. Will have to try the suction cup dent pullers. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! I am sure you will like how they work. They have been great for us. Good luck and thank you for watching!
A suction cup shower handle works too, two suction cups on those portable handles, which makes a 24” ruler more stable using one hand. 💞
There's some good ideas here, thank you

Love the magnetic tool box idea.
LOVE THIS DEMO…and will for sure 👍 out👩🏻🎨

I use their round blades for my rotary cutter! they work great
