    This was an awesome video guys, I really enjoyed it. I’ve watched your videos before but this one made me subscribe. I love seeing how other people organise their space. I only have a cottage with limited area to store or sew, so any tips or hints for space management appreciated! 🙏

    Oh my goodness, I have the very same white Husky expandable work bench! I just upgraded to it a few months ago. I absolutely love how stable it is and how everything I need to work on machines is easily stored away inside. Best investment I have made so far for my sewing machine business. Love to see it in another sewing room! You both are doing a great job with your channel, love how you two work together and share this passion. You make a great team!

    I recognized the Pfaff 360! That was the machine I learned to sew on. It was my mom’s, which I inherited. It runs great! I have the case and all attachments and lots of extra bobbins. I also have the original manual. She took great care of her machine and she made many (hundreds if not thousands) of clothing articles including her winter gear and snowmobile suits. I sewed all of my school clothes from sixth grade on. I wish I had room to display it in my 10x10 room.

    • @NeverTooMany2023
      @NeverTooMany2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is so cool! Sewing machines are memory makers for sure. There is nothing better than retaining your parent's machine that you grew up with :) Think of all the money you saved making your own clothing. I really want to make my own clothing as well. I just need to gain the confidence to make it happen. I have a lot of respect for those that can pull it off. Thanks for watching!

    Just found your channel. I love all of your vintage machines and it's awesome that you restore them yourselves. I would love to see more about your Viking, since it's one of your favorites. I'm a Viking girl myself. I have a 6010 and 2000 (plus a couple of modern ones). They are tanks! Wait until you come across a 2000 - that green will make you fall in love! I also have a Featherweight and a 66 Redeye treadle. That's the extent of my collection, but I do love seeing yours!

      Thank you so much! Wow, sounds like you have a great collection of machines as well. Yes, the Viking machines are awesome! We are still waiting to come across a featherweight that is in our price range. Hopefully one day we will have one :) Thanks for watching and following along with us!

      @@NeverTooMany2023 I was lucky and got my FW many years ago before the prices became insane! I think I paid around $100, including case and all the doodads (also LOVE that you say doodads because that's what I call them too). I pulled the FW out the other day with my vintage buttonholer because my modern Viking's automatic buttonholer was acting up and I lost patience. I'm a garment sewist, but I do dabble in quilting now and then.

    • @NeverTooMany2023
      @NeverTooMany2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@debbiecook4270 That is great! Ya, the prices of FW machines is getting out of hand. It is really mostly a novelty price. I have worked on a couple and had the pleasure to sew on them as well. They are super neat and cute but I don't see them being so superior in quality to justify the prices they are fetching. I saw a white one listed for 1700 dollars! It doesn't diminish our desire to own one...or five :) ... just have to wait until we can find one that needs a little work :) That is awesome that you sew garments. We recently picked up a thrift store serger. I have gotten as far as figuring out how to thread the thing and try it out. Stacey is a quilter and I like making bags. I really want to start making my own clothing. It is super intimidating. Full respect to those of you that can create garments :)

    LOVE your space! I have about 50 vintage machines now and it’s really helpful to see how you have everything laid out and organized.
    I’m working on my pfaff 360 now too! Just finished taking apart and fixing the zigzag mechanism and about to start working on the embroidery unit.

      @NeverTooMany2023  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! Sounds like we are in the same boat :) I think we hover at about 50 machines as well. I am really glad you were able to relate our space to your own. That's great that you are working on your 360 as well. The Pfaff machines are so different than the other makes. I can't wait to start taking ours apart as well. Good luck with your project. @@NeverTooMany2023 the pfaff is very different and the manual is confusing. It has taken me several days and hours just to get the zig zag mechanism fixed. I had to boil a part in water for a few minutes just to get it to come apart. Good luck with yours! Hopefully it isn’t gummed up and you won’t have to do too much to get it working.

    Thank you for the tour. Also OCD, but a garment sewer. Always fun when DH has to ask me for tools. Recently it was 18 inch zip ties, which reside in my corsetry bin with the large bolt cutters for spiral steel boning. Oh so many rabbit holes!

    First time watching you guys and enjoyed seeing your sewing set-up's. I just ordered a Husky adjustable 52" table with one drawer. It will go in my closet area and hold my Brother Innovis BQ3100. I've also had several vintage machines but currently only have a Singer 301A. I had to scale down when we moved from a large home in AZ to a small home in PA last year. I love vintage machines and would have more if I had room for them so I'll have to be content to look at yours. BTW...the picture of the Corvair on your computer reminded me of the first car I ever had. It was a 1962 Corvair and my parents bought it for me when I started nursing school in 1965 :) Thanks for the tour.

    I have a dear friend in Meridian that uses the husky tables for her machine. I have been thinking about using them. I am getting a new sewing room soon. Will probably have to give up my phenomenal sewing desk my husband built for me. We got it into the basement but are pretty sure we won’t be able to get it out. Except in sawed up pieces. Oh well new furniture right!
    By the way I am an Idaho native that got misplaced in N Dakota January 31, 2020. I go home to Idaho at least once a year and generally for at least a month. I miss the mountains. I loved your red shirt saying you love Idaho.

    Your video is so inspiring. Weve thought about building a room onto our house but using your idea of layout i might not have to. My husband gave me a red tool box years ago and i didnt know what for...he is OCD and didnt like the mess. Regarding your Pfaff, my mom bought one in Germany in 1960. She sewed everything on it. I have it now but it needs some work. She had the motor worked on but they did something wrong. I see you are Idahoans, me too. Love to know where youre located, Im in Boise.

      Thank you so much! We are glad to have inspired you. That was our hope in sharing our space on the channel. Ya, a good tool box can solve a bunch of problems :) That is great that you have your mom's original Pfaff. Sewing machines are memory makers and memory passer-downers. Sorry you are having trouble with it. I am getting ready to take apart our Pfaff 360 to clean and lubricate her. The Pfaff machines are really different inside. The Germans had a way of over complicating stuff. Awesome machines but a little intimidating to work on. That is cool that you are Idahoans as well. We live in Nampa but grew up in downtown Boise. Awesome part of the country :) Thanks for watching!

      Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed it. It was really fun bringing it to you all. It was a year or two in the making, but we are really happy with how it all turned out :) Lol...we just love old sewing machines. We never intended to collect them, they just sort of started following us home. Once we had 30 or 40 of them, I decided to start a TH-cam channel so I could share our passion with others. They really have no long term purpose. We don't sell them, we just collect them. Most of our machines are from thrift stores. We like the thought of saving them from the landfill :) Thanks for watching and following along!

    • @NeverTooMany2023
      @NeverTooMany2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much! That is very kind of you :) I actually just kind of made it up as I went along. There is no pattern. Basically, I drew up a rough sketch of the layout, downloaded clipart images of vintage machines, deconstructed each machine into layers and cut the shapes out on our Cricut machine, picked some stained glass looking fabric, sewed the machine bits on top, and basically made a 7 foot table runner out of it. I am very new to sewing but Stacey (my wife) is an awesome and patient teacher. Thanks for asking and thank you for watching!

    How do you keep special feet,notions and add ons that are machine specific together? I have an Elna Supermatic,Necchi Bu Pfaff 130, 1952 White and a 221 from the 30s . Oh and a Rocketeer that was my mom’s.

    • @NeverTooMany2023
      @NeverTooMany2023  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. If we have a machine that has its own specific doo-dads we try to keep them with that machine (given that it has its own storage). If the doo-dads are in a separate box (like many of our vintage machines), then we keep them all together in the doo-dad drawer. We sometimes keep a note in side of the box(s) denoting which machine they are for. We just separate all bobbins by type and keep them all together. Thanks for watching!

    You briefly show your TH-cam workstation. Would you please consider making a video explaining the equipment and programs you use to produce videos for your three channels? Perhaps a summarized step-by-step of your process from planning a video through to posting it, and then how you follow the analytics and your viewers' interaction? As teachers in your videos, you both are articulate and have calm, straightforward personalities. I believe you could greatly help someone new to this medium.

      Thank you so much for the comment and the kind words. That is a great idea! We like learning and sharing our experiences with others. There are a ton of tech channels that already cover all of the processes involved with creating a TH-cam channel and producing content (this is how we learned). Not sure if the sewing community as a whole would care to watch content creation videos, but if would be fun for us to make them regardless. If you are contemplating starting a channel of your own we would encourage you to go for it. It is very time consuming and there are a lot of moving parts, but it is super rewarding at the same time. If you have specific questions in your journey feel free to email us at nevertoomanyinfo@gmail.com and we will try to help you out :) Thanks for watching!
