Yes and they have 25%/30% coupons regularly. They have very low-cost 100% cotton canvas drop cloths that can be used for quilting/craft projects. I also purchased 8 very light-weight saw horses for about $6 each on special - I set them up, top with construction foam boards, use the hand clamps to secure quilt sandwiches, and spray-baste. All of it is easy to set up and take down and easily stored in garage. Another tip - buy large 100% wool ironing mats at a tack store (they’re used for saddle pads) - about $20 vs $100+. Thanks for the pleasant, informative videos!

As a woman, I LOVE Harbor Freight! I've had two of the smaller magnetic bowls for years, but this red one just made me realize I could paint one the next time I have a spray paint project. I have a rolling tote that holds my machine. Bought a tool bag for my sewing machine tools along with some specialty tools such as the tiny cleaning brushes. I bought a 3 foot extension cord to mount inside my sewing cabinet so that my vintage machine has an on/off switch. Another is for my irons and the indicator light helps me to turn off my irons. The green frog tape is like old fashioned drafting tape and it will remove from most papers, including pattern tissue. They also have a nice assortment of steel rulers that the rotary Cutters can't damage.

be careful cutting with the rotary cutter using non-quilting rulers. I used a 60 degree drafting ruler once. It is not as thick as the quilting rulers. The rotary cutter jumped the edge and sliced my pinky finger through the fingernail. Needed a few stitches and it healed but definitely bled on my fabric!

@@nancya5889 I am just this side of OCD when it comes to personal safety. I've been using exacto knives with metal rulers for decades. (I'm knocking wood right now!) No slip-ups so far. Except for the one time the slightly soft onion half from the frig didn't feel like a good idea in the razor sharp mandolin - learned a lesson with that one!

I thought I was the only one! I cut up painter drop cloths for tote bags, PLUS if you look for the tie down ratcheting straps, try comparing the length to what you might pay by the foot or yard for 1” webbing and just cut them off if you like the color (the blue is amazing) 👀 I also like the little pick and hook sets for various crafting needs. Good video and as a reminder that sometimes the stores capitalize on a hobby when all along one can find doable products, better quality substitutes. My greatest and aha moment came when I saw someone promote Husky tables as a sewing table. I spent fortunes buying tables made of MDF board, wobbles when sewing etc. all low quality. I purchased for a couple hundred dollars a Husky worktable, adjustable heights, 2 drawers, on wheels. Love it. There are many different sizes as well. Another great purchase was 4 unfinished kitchen cabinets (with drawers) and then an inexpensive counter top placed on top for my cutting table and plenty of storage. Sturdy! Better quality and less expensive. Love what you shared. I will make a trip this week as I love finding good substitutes. Great job!

I use a parts bowl for pins also,; bought it at Mennards during a 11% off sale. It also holds the screws of my sewing machines when they are taken apart for cleaning. Recently I dropped a screw down inside the machine and hubby came to the rescue with his telescope magnet! Will ask for that for Mother's Day. I agree, accessories are costly at hobbyfabric shops. I went to Harbour Freight a few weeks ago and bought a lot of the same things you did. Great minds think alike. Thank you for sharing your finds. I think I spent more money there than my boyfriend did when we went together. I didn't see the smaller rolling tool boxes. Those would be great additions to any craft or sewing room. I also got a magnetic box of gloves holder and a magnetic paper towel holder there. I also like to paint on fabric among other things so they will come in handy. The green/red bigger magnet hooks you showed - I have the next weight class up in some just like those. I painted them white to match the white, metal sided barns in my yard. When I finish a quilt and need to photograph it I put safety pins in the top of the quilt and hang the pins on the magnets on the barn. The safety pins are barely or never visible and the magnets hold it up great while I get the shots I want. Just another idea for those.

Hello Michelle, I got excited the first time I went into a Harbor Freight shop many years ago. I was looking for something for my 55 Oldsmobile, instead I bought stuff for around the house, in my sewing kits and storage stuff. Their prices went to my head, I didn't have to walk all over Home Depot. I got an Oscilating multi functional tool, as seen on TV, My husband wouldn't get one, so I bought him one and he never used it. He gave it to a neighbor, so I got one, and used it. He thought it was great and couldn't keep his hands off it. But when I told him if he was going to borrow my tools, I wanted them back clean and in the box. You should have heard the rowe. I told him he's welcome to borrow it. I know where all my toys are.

They have a great set of dental picks for cleaning and using as a stiletto. Wonderful huge forceps for turning items and get a small set, too. I have their 36 & 48 in. Aluminum rulers for cutting batting and borders. They are thick and work well with rotary cutters. Speaking of rotary cutters, the HF ones are almost worthless for cutting fabric. Great for paper, though! They have small stubby screw drivers for removing the needle plates. I bought several! Steel measuring tapes are much cheaper there for measuring quilts. I also bought a cheap wider tape measure to cut up for Snappy Bags. Empty Chalk line and fill with quilters chalk for marking long quilt lines or measuring and cutting batting. Gardening gloves make great quilting gloves. I think I have everything you bought. Fun day at Harbor Freight! It's an hour and a half away but worth it. If you do any other craft, you will find tons of stuff so much cheaper than a craft store and definitely cheaper than a quilt store.
Glue, tape, mechanical pencils...endless necessities for your craft, sewing or quilting studios, or just household supplies. Take your friends and do Harbor Freight and lunch. Great day!

I've known of Harbor Freight items that can be used in a sewing room for years. (Since my hubby and I love to refinish furniture together, we go to Harbor Freight quite a bit.) I'm so glad that you did a video about it so other quilters and sewers can also take advantage of the cheaper products and still get great quality. Blessings!

Great ideas. There is a harbor freight very close to me. I go there often because I also enjoy woodworking and I’ve seen these items but some of your ideas didn’t occur to me. I do have one very very handy quilting item that is truly a lifesaver for my quilting. I bought the black suction holders and stuck them to opposite walls over my bathtub. Now when I starch my fabric pieces and want to let them dry I hang them in there. I’ve grown to perhaps 8 or 10 now. I lace a light rope through them and hang dozens of fat quarters using small clothes pins. In the morning I can have them all down in less than 5 minutes and place suction holders in a bottom drawer in my bathroom. No damage to my wall tiles whatsoever. Thanks for sharing your clever ideas.

We recently got a Harbor Freight in my next over small town too. I went there about a month ago, and when I came in the front, I asked the checker if they had any art or craft things. She not only said no, she was rude and contemptuous. It was weird, and I just turned and walked out. She might be the exception, but I have a plan. I’m going back there with your link on a postcard, to share with her or the first staff person I see there next time. So more people can enjoy what you shared with us. Thanks so much. 🦋🌈🕊

A sales person's attitude can make so much difference in whether we shop there it's a wonder to me customer service doesn't seem to be a priority most places. My Harbor Freight experience was the opposite, the young woman checker was so enthusiastic and got me signed up for the rewards program, explaining the discounts and deals and encouraging me to shop there - makes all the difference in the way you think about a store. Wow thanks for the tips on sewing supplies!

Interesting, because I go to the one near me (with my husband) and have found craft type stuff - mainly aimed at children - wooden dinosaur model kits etc. So they do have things like that, as well as the kinds of items shown in this video. And everything is less expensive than the comparable items at craft specific stores....

I LOVE Harbor Freight! In addition to sewing, I restore vintage and antique sewing machines, and over the years I've gotten all kinds of cool tools and toolboxes from Harbor Freight that were far less expensive than I would have paid for the same item at a craft store. I actually really dig "industrial design", so the design of stuff from Harbor Freight is appealing to me. I've gotten gear grease and electrical supplies and sets of screwdrivers with tiny bits. I need to get some of those magnetic bowls and especially those clamps to attach to the quilt ruler. My BF is a contractor and I've borrowed those clamps from his workshop, but I have to put them back because he needs them. Guess I need a set of my own! Great ideas!

I goto harbor freight more than my husband. I'm a maker so i do tons of different "crafts" and get stuff for my woodworking, scuplting, sewing, etc... from there for lots cheaper than the specialized tools that art sold for these crafts. I also love the spongy garage floor mats the sell for $9 they help foot pain and back pain when your standing there for a long time cutting your fabric pieces for quilts.

I have enjoyed shopping at Harbor Freight for years. My most recent purchase for sewing was a laser light intended for guiding radial saws. I attach it to my sewing machine as a fabric guide when I am doing straight line quilting. I did add painters tape over each side of the light opening so that I could have a finer guide line. (My machine isn't electronic so I didn't need to worry about the magnets.)

A few years ago, bought myself a full sized 9 drawer rolling toolbox in blue from harbor freight, with the intention of using it for: gasp tools!
Hubby built it in the living room (some assembly required) and was going to move it out to the storeroom the next day.
As it sat there looking all pretty, got to thinking about using it for the sewing machine...
By the time hubby got home, it was full of sewing notions, fabric and patterns, and the sewing machine & serger had permanent homes on top.
It's tall enough to be able to stand and sew and the ironing board lives next to it!
Nothing like an electric blue tool box in the middle of the living room as a focal point 😂😅
(Eventually purchased the matching magnetic power strip and spray paint can holder for spray starch 😂)
