A life saver , have spectrum here in Florida and this fixed my issue . If your modems second light is flashing white / blue give about 5 minutes so that it matches the first light and that the two are fully solid blue then continue to plug your router in and wait till the light turns solid blue and should be good !

Ive been waiting for an 1 hour
25 seconds in the video and i found the problem the yellow wire was always plugged in the rectangle box and i didnt think about where the other end was and it was unplugged, i plugged it back in and now it works. Thanks!!

Switch to new modem and routers. Still had trouble every night and kept turning red. I reset the router. It will work for a day or two then back to a red light. Customers service said I needed to upgrade. Thought they were just money grabbing. But told me I qualify for a 40$ discount so I still paid what I was paying previously before upgrading. Thought ok that's a great deal. 500 mbps for 40$ a month. Still got a red light every 2 days after the upgrade. Got tired of it and switched back to at&t. 3 months later after switching back to at&t I never had one problem. Even when in February here in Texas where it snowed. Wifi worked 100 times better than spectrum. Never again will I get spectrum

Check your power connection.
I had this issue with intermittent outages with Spectrum.
Come to find out the power strip I have has “Power Saving” connections. While only 2 are “Constant On” connections.
I rearranged the plugs and turned right back on with no issues.
Found this out while following the “unplug power procedure” it wasnt lighting up so i reset the power strip and the light came on i heard a click in the power strip then the light went out. So i swapped around the cords and came right back on no problem.
(This wont be a fix all tip but it will help those who may just have a power issue)
Also it could be your power strip isnt strong enough to power whatever electronics its running. So maybe try to unplug everything but the routers and see if it works?
It happened if the wires get worn out and the speed goes slow.
I had this problem with the Wi-Fi connection being interrupted several times a day for over a week. Turned out to be a faulty Ethernet cable. No problems since switching to a new cable.

You might try swapping your equipment out for new gear. Otherwise, get a technician to come out and test the line.. Hopefully they will send a competent one!
@@ThisOldFarmShop after dealing with it going out every day since the first day I got there service it took them like 3 trips out here to actually swap out the brand "new" modem for another "new" one a month ago. Since its been working fine but fuck that was irritating
I have exact same problem, every Friday around 730-8 pm either cable or internet goes out, stays out till Monday morning ( reset trouble shoot nothing helps) but it ALWAYS comes on by itself. Supposedly no one can connect to my services.
@@frankie2524 Sounds pretty fishy... Must be some bad equipment somewhere in your area. Keep bugging them and hopefully they will figure it out! If not, switch to another service if one is available.

I should have cancelled the service from the start after a year it's not getting better, I even argued with neighbor thinking that somehow they were doing it. But they aren't....( the red light on router means STOP service immediately , 😂😂)

My router went out several times a day, often several times an hour. I'd reset it, it'd go out. After 4 tech visits from 3 different techs, the last one replaced the modem..which 2 other techs said was working perfectly..and my internet has not dropped since. This simple fix took almost 2 months.
All lights on the cable modem are solid blue. When I plug into a laptop and tried the wifi router, it does not connect to the internet. I think the modem is bad. We had big storm last night and it may have messed it up.
It's very possible it is bad. One thing to try is power cycle the modem anytime you plug a different device into it.
This worked for my plateu box. Same ports different service

I’m not getting any lights at all on the front of my modem. Started about a week into getting it from the store. After unplugging it, the lights will come on and be solid blue but soon after, all the lights just turn off as if it’s not getting power.

Heads up if you relocate the box to a different port it’s unlikely to work.
I did what you said and the Online light on the modem keeps changing from blue to white. It never goes solid blue.
Service could be out in your area. Install the spectrum app on your phone and see if it says there's a problem. Try the reboot sequence again. Hope you get it going!!

When I try to access my routers login, I get a security warning. I tired on other devices and even my computer both via wifi and with an Ethernet cable and still the same warning and I'm not sure what to do. Is my internet hacked or does it have a virus? Any suggestions?
It's informing you that it is a self signed certificate. If you are sure that you are connecting to your own equipment, it is safe to ignore and continue.

@@ThisOldFarmShop I live in a rear in-law suite behind my landlords house. He has Spectrum services with premium cable, phone, and Internet. The coaxil cable also comes into my apartment and feeds a premium cable Spectrum box that he pays an extra fee for. I piggyback Internet services through his wifi from the modem and router in his house, but there's too much distance and interference (walls) to get a good signal. I bought a plug in wireless signal enhancer which made the signal bearable for very light Internet surfing, but I cannot stream videos or live sports.
So my question is this: can I pick up a used modem at a thrift shop and make it work somehow in my apartment? Or is there anything else I can do? Thanks for any help.
@@MasterArmedforces A used modem will not work as you'd have to register it with Spectrum, then they will charge you to use it :(. You can start by finding a spot on the outside of your landlords house facing you and try your extender there. The extender needs a strong signal from the source to work properly. You could even use a couple of them, but the more you add the slower it gets. If you want to do it professionally, you are going to need a point to point wireless bridge and a wifi access point in your in-law suite. The basic equipment set is as follows: you'll need 2 of these: store.ui.com/collections/operator-airmax-devices/products/nanolocom5 (one on your landlords house and one on yours) and one of these: store.ui.com/collections/unifi-network-wireless/products/u6-lite-us . I have a question can you just plug in your own wifi router like an eero system to the spectrum modem box? That's how I always have done it until moving to an area that only has spectrum.

Look at the label on the back of the router. It *should* have your wifi ssid and password.

I would say start by testing that you are getting the advertised speed you are paying for. Hard wire a computer to the router and go to spectrum's speed test page. Test several times and take an average. Now try it wirelessly sitting very close to the router. Speeds should be close to one another. If not, call and get them to test it on their end. You might try taking the router to your local spectrum store and exchange it out for a different one. I hope you can get it fixed!

I just cancelled my service with them ....its a very LONG nightmare. after the person came out my brand new TV was broken. the rep was disconnecting all the equipment so my tv shut off.... but now my tv has no power to it. it wont even turn on.

The Router is blinking blue while the Modem is fading from blue to white on the online light.
You can try resetting everything again. It will be solid blue if everything is working correctly.

Unhook it and take it to the local spectrum store and exchange it. Hopefully a new one will fix your problem.

You may have a situation like mine... My house gets a nearby lightning strike a couple times every summer. Lightning surge can run in on your cable line and take out the modem, the router or both. I'm in the process of getting mine replaced right now...

Go through the reboot sequence again. Then look on the back of the router and get the network name and password. Remove the network from your phone and re-add it and see if that helps.

This company has horrid internet. And are basically useless if you have a issue.
Some areas are definitely worse than others. Try switching if you have another carrier in your area.

@@ThisOldFarmShop yep I called Friday night and they'll be out here Sunday afternoon. All I did was wash the tops of them with a damp cloth, there's no way it got water damage from that. But it stopped working after I done that. Hopefully they don't charge me for a new router and modem. I've had these ones for like 7 years though so they were.bound to shit the bed

The WI-FI router is flashing blue now, and on the cable modem the power and online is solid blue, but then the online is grayish blue. But mostly gray. Is that normal?

Yes, flashing red is not good. Likely the router is bad if the cable modem is solid blue. Let us know how it turns out. Gray on the modem is not good either, but usually means something temporary is wrong with your service.

That might be the network activity light. Is it right where the big telephone looking cable is plugged in?

Might have a bad router. The light next to the cable indicates network traffic to the modem, but not necessarily to the Internet

You could try the two piece setup, modem and router. That might work a little better for you... Would have to try it to see
