    Great video, I have been using Cubase for years now and I have recently started using Pro 14. Even if I - without wanting to seem arrogant - consider myself an expert user, at times I still come on TH-cam and review things and scan for new features. This has been a very useful refresher and I really need to remember to use this more. Thank you for the video

      Easiest way for 2 tracks is select both and visualize 1 of dem as a ghost 2 align the other 1

    Very useful tutorial, you have a real knack of pulling out the essential knowledge. I have seen this done many times but every time I tried to do it I made a mess. Didn’t realise that you needed the guard markers! Musical mode is much better though. Now I can fix my own errant guitar playing too! ........ and my keyboard playing and my drumming and my bass and vocals.......... ok everything I do!

      Thanks Malcolm. I like the term 'guard markers', so I'll steal that if I may! (Currently working on my next book of Cubase Skills, which will expand on the content of all these videos and much more).

      musictechtuition yes you can have that term copyright free! I promise not to sue! ....... now you don’t hear that on you tube content very often these days do you? I shall be buying the book, I know it will be worth every penny.

    Is it possible to use audio wrap for multiple tracks? Maybe to correct a folder, all tracks together?

    Hi a great video, well explained as always, I have Pro 10.5 when I hit musical mode, Mine also Closes, but I don't get any markers, only the wave form, if I press free warp then get the beat maker vertical lines, but no warp marker lines, I have myQuantise and setting identical to your setting, also I'd Love to know how you got the rubber when deleting unwanted warp markers

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rubber is summoned by pressing ALT when you're in Free Warp mode, and hover over a warp marker. HTH.

    I have a mono audio of a concert. During some of the songs the musicians speeded up or slowed down. Can the slowed down parts of the whole file be time warped to match the general tempo? The file is just imported into the project and is not aligned to any tempo.

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely. You should be able to just use free warp on the audio to drag and stretch/compress the offending areas to fix the tempo issues. Depending on how far out they are, you may hear some processing artefacts, but it's completely possible. If it's not aligned to any grid, this will just be a case of turning snap off and pulling it around until you get the result you want.

    Just a question: does the old way to warp audio and time stratch, still works? As I've commented in other videos by other people, Cubase became very complicate... it was very easy and intuitive in comparison to other software, but nowdays it is quite complicate... the old way to time warp or time stretch audios, was so easy, and watching so many video, none is using that way anymore, so i guess isn't available anymore, otherwise would be a shame if no one talk about it... By the way, you as others, explain how to move notes, but not how to warp a file... if I upload 2 samples with different bpm, 128 and 130, how do I change the 128 to 130, or the 130 to 128? It was so easy before, and sometimes you cannot move notes as you did in the video, you can do that only if you have a clean melody with few notes, you can't do that with a ride sample, for example... so if i have a kick at 128 and i add a ride or a drum fill at 130 or 132, how do i change it to 128 or warp the entire sample? Thanks

      Hold down the ALT key (the cursor will turn into an eraser) and click the marker you want to delete.

    Hi - thanks for the video. in cubase 10.5 pro, when I record a single track and select musical mode from the audio warp panel, the recorded audio event moves. I was trying to research this and see others seem to have issue when the track is in LTB or musical mode, but either setting doesn't seem to help. Also when I select musical mode and have the resolution set to 1/4, I am not getting audio warp markers set automatically. Is there a setting for this perhaps?

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Greg. It would be really useful if you could do a TH-cam video of you going through this, showing what happens and when - otherwise it's next-to impossible to know exactly what you're doing. I know there are a number of pitfalls that can occur with this, so it may help find out what's going on.

    • @gregmontano2791
      @gregmontano2791 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@musictechtuition I made a video of the audio event moving which is step one of the issue i suspect. I recorded a guitar part twice. once with the track in musical and one in LTB. Turning on musical mode on the audio event is making the audio event move. th-cam.com/video/omRC-kOb7gM/w-d-xo.html

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gregmontano2791 I have a suspicion about what's happening.... Can you backup the project to a new folder (with only the used audio files in it), zip it up and then email it to me - darren@musictechtuition.com - ? Then I can take a look at what I -think- is going on. Thanks!

  • @ZigbertD

    I watched this video because I was having some trouble figuring out audio warp, and after following the steps here the same thing is happening. As soon as I click on musical mode, the clip is moved in the timeline, a bar plus a quarter note and change ahead. Any ideas about what's causing that?

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually when things like this happen it's because of the info in the Pool in media - there are some odd things that happen when doing this (sometimes it's the origin, sometimes the tempo) - can you post a video of this happening, and then a clear shot of that audio file in the pool (CTRL + P) window?

    Thank you for this clear explanation. So, if I have 90's vinyl recorded to digital (yes I have a PRS ProDub Licence www.prsformusic.com/help/help-with-licences/dj-mixes-produb) and it doesn't line up just right in some places then this is how I can fix those. Are there any pointers you have on how I can set this up please so I can fix a few and export them with the new fixed 4/4 beats at a constant tempo? Do I need to analyse the song first?

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gareth. I think this is probably a subject for a complete video, rather than a comment response. I'll look into making a video on this...

    • @garethmillers5453
      @garethmillers5453 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@musictechtuition Thank you. All of the vinyl today is great and I don't process anything after recording anyway because of artifacts and I know there are work around's such as placing makers and loops creatively, control vinyl and also capturing a loop or cutting the loop out in a DAW. It would just be great to have go to video to help with this using Cubase instead of having to save for Ableton and do it in there.
