Hey! Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for the very direct and well explained video. I tried this on fingerpicked acoustic guitar and it worked great! I've always quantized MIDI, but didn't clue in that it would also work with audio too... Cubase is super powerful! Cheers - from Toronto, Canada!
It's the tapered wave-looking icon, to the left of the 'e' button in the quantize section of the tool bar. If you don't see it in your version of Cubase, then you probably don't have Audio Warp Quantize - either because of the version of Cubase (i.e. the number), or the edition (In Cubase 12, Pro and Artist have it, but others don't).
So good this is magic. To me it sounds like a lot of the modern Radiohead stuff is fully audio quantized, to give one example. They don't use autotune on the vocals though, which is interesting also.
I bought Artist thinking that this tool was included, but it's not. I had to spend another $380 AUD to upgrade. Maybe it was included in earlier versions of Artist.
I'm not 100% but I'd be surprised if it was included in an earlier version of Artist as this is one of the "pro" features that justifies the price difference. Generally if anything, Steinberg has allowed pro features to come into later versions of Artist, rather than remove them (I'd think there would be a lot of backlash from anyone who upgraded from say V11 to V12 and lost features).
Not sure about drums, but I actually did this with acoustic guitar that was tracked with 2 microphones yesterday... put them in a folder and pressed the button on the folder for "group editing". I was able to warp [and trim] them simultaneously. Hopefully that helps!
The only option you have is to solo each track, and export as audio mixdown. It's a pain I know, but without Pro version, most basic things other DAWs do, Cubase doesn't do outside Pro version
When I go to the AudioWarp menu, I only get 4 audiowarp hitpoints (yellow, right?). One at each end and two a few beats in. Why don't all of my hitpoints convert to audiowarp hitpoints?
@@musictechtuition Thanks, I figured it out by comparing second by second to your video. I had that AudioWarp function on before making hitpoints. I guess that was it because when I turned it on AFTER hitpoints, after Create Warp Markers it worked.
It moves the note/event a percentage of the way to the quantize point - They have now called it soft quantize, although I think iterative made more sense...
You're not alone in this. I've had many moments with clients when I've shown them the short way to do something they've been taking ages to do... with a variety of reactions!
Man! what a seriously easy tutorial to follow. Respect to you for this.
Clear explanation as ever, this is one of the best. Love this feature. Thank you!
I love straight to the point tutorials! Thank you for this tutorial!. Subscribed.
awesome quick and simple tutorial of quantizing audio! Thanks
Very clear - thanks.

Thanks for your kind words, Ken!
Many thanks for very good tutorials!
At 2:44 where you say 'turn on Audio Warp Quantize HERE'.... I can't see where the mouse went to. Where? Where? Where?

Thank you for such a simple yet consise teaching, so many other tutorials stupidly confuse by using multitracks and show off nonsence
I truly applaud you
Want to warp multiple drum tracks exactly the same.
Can you copy and paste a warp setting to another track?
Thanks!
Excellent - thank you!

Thanks so much for this! Keep up the great work.
Thank you!

How do you do this in ipad?
thank you
Hi, is it possible to align drums with audio warp using a folder track, affecting more tracks together?
Not sure about drums, but I actually did this with acoustic guitar that was tracked with 2 microphones yesterday... put them in a folder and pressed the button on the folder for "group editing". I was able to warp [and trim] them simultaneously. Hopefully that helps!
Thank you !!
Kindly help us to know how to export stem for mixing ! Because there is no option for that in cubase elements
The only option you have is to solo each track, and export as audio mixdown.

God bless you, I learn a lot from you ,thanks man 🙏
Many thanks great tutorial!

Hi. It may be easier for me to see what's going on if you can post a quick screencap video?

@@druiz607 Glad you got it sorted!
Thank you❤❤🙏🙏🌹🌹
Just what i needed to know. Thanks
What is "iterative" quantize?
It moves the note/event a percentage of the way to the quantize point - They have now called it soft quantize, although I think iterative made more sense...
still very usefull
👍
Just found this again, phew!
I sure love doing something the laborious way, only to think to find out the easy way after much blood, sweat and tears. Oh well, more fool me! 😅

This DOESNT come with Artist!
That's too bad! It really should.
I'm using Cubase Pro 10 and it's something I just discovered was a feature... after watching this video!
Thank you sir!
Cheers!
