But saying Mahabharata is nothing related to this ritual is not good..
I think our dharma is such an oldest In the world .. Hence till it is survived no .. This things are common to tell those are all puranas, not true.. .Recently came or known facts were the main reasons.. to believe or follow some old rituals like this some people themselves make history of recently known and erase the ancient one by saying it as just purana..

But the legacy of vijayanagar empire continued and later further movies on to rayalseema, Andhrapradesh.... The then wodeyars did not fought back against Deccan sultanate.... Infact they established friendly and diplomatic relations with.... Bijapur sultanate and other sultanates....... But the vijaynagar kings of aravidu.. dynasty later on fought against.... Bijapur sultanate and other sultanates.... Till THEIR last breath...... And the rest is history..... Later Shri Chatrapati shivaji maharaj destroyed the bijapur sultanate.... And other sultanates....
