she killed the "weak" in herself through sadhana and she ensured that the weakness is eliminated from her mind and soul and she came out of sadhana all-acknowledged with her powerful self.
India has a rich and cosmocentric culture that embraces everyone, no matter where you are from. I am proud to be an Indian and I wish for all the Indians to do the same and at the same time respect others culture and traditions too because remember that "Vasudeva kutumbakam" meaning the whole world is one family.

Isn't it a bit self-absorbed of you to claim that you are "knowledgeable enough"... if you're knowledgeable show it by writing down your opinion and not by attacking other people's opinion because it's my interpretation and I am not gonna change it because you don't like it... and to your interpretation... the kind of movements and expressions she has... it is not a love story rather a realization of self-love and finding the self... an empowered self.@@claudiamanta1943

That Human genes may have commonalities is absolutely not far fetched. And in the culture of India i do recognize so-called caucasian, arabic, Asian and African flavours. Absolutely so. So consodering the Geography of India, which is somehwat at the crossroads between East, West, South and North, the vastitude of its territory and its very ancient civilisation, it is tempting to see why some people would say it is the biggest and central part of the Pangée still to this day....

    The very first Shloka means:
Who is as Red as vermilion, have three eyes, wears crown of Rubies and Cresent moon, have a smile, who holds pot of jewels (filled with nector) and a Red water lily, who is very calm and puts her red feet on a ghat (pot) of jewels, I meditate on that supreme mother.
This Shloka is dedicated to Para Chiti form of Goddess Lalita Tripursundari (third Mahavidya).
Here, she is related with kundalini shakti and enlightenment. The pot under her feet is actually head of sadhak, and devi is seated on spiritual Lotus of thousands petals, where is Sahasrar chakra, this is our final destination in Yoga.
    "Sahasrarambujaroodha sudhasarabhivarshini"
She rides on spiritual Lotus of Sahasrar chakra, and rains nector on sadhak, nector is moksha or nivana, which is our ultimate goal.
The Shri Yantra is abode of Devi Lalita.

This performance by Rukmini Vijayakumar is breathtaking, not only in its choreography, but in it's honesty and integrity of confession. Dance as a facet of Devotion, as a form of prayer, is completely forgotten in the west. Caesar destroyed dance as a liturgical rite, reduced it to an exclusively sensual expression to summon sexual appetites. Since Caesarean Apartheid, the occupied territories have rejected and shunned dance in the liturgy, but the Devotional Dance traditions of Asia, which remain operative components of sacred rites, liturgy and individual testament among the Hindu denominations, are an accurate reflection of Devotional Dance traditions in Arabia, the Black Sea (Caucuses) and Europe prior to Caesarian Apartheid.
Westerners no longer appreciate Devotional Dance for what it truly is, a live performance of cannonical narratives. In this magnificent example, Rukmini provides the audience a view of a conflict internal to us all: we are all, in any given decision, but most often in moments of stress or crisis, compelled to passivity by the benevolent influences and seduced to outrage by malevolent influences. Whether we call the benevolent influences angels or devi, whether we call the malevolent influences devils or rakshasa is merely a matter of nomenclature. The meaning of life is in finding the optimal locus of the soul, finding then establishing the core of our being, our soul, at the center where balance is achieved. Rukmini may be the greatest dancer I have ever witnessed.
Rukmini personifies the besieged soul, the innocent soul, the outraged soul and, finally,, the centered soul with such integrity it is nearly impossible to accept these performers are one and the same person. The integrity in Rukmini's confession allows us all to share in its absolution, for Rukmini's performance is an accurate reflection of who we all truly are when it matters: conflicted and too prone to outrages. It is the duality implicit in the human condition, and the resolution thereof captured in Rukmini's performance which compels the audience to ovation.
I meditate on Devotional Dance as a liturgical rite and, in examples like Rukmini Vijayakumar, I realize how completely the 1st Commandment was observed Before Caesar: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. Only in Devotional Dance could one do that literally and demonstratively. Imagine Devotional Dance rites performed at church each Sunday following the sermon. The pews would be filled. I am inclined to believe sermons would become superfluous. Brava, Rukmini! Encore!

Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. She sits and meditates in front of a mandala. As she closes her eyes, she begins to travel through the very mandala to the temple of self. The consciousness where she enters with what she has as a being of this physical world. She expresses all that in the form of her dances. The Devi, her self-consciousness who now knows what she has become from the physical world, slowly observes her from above. Devi, slowly approaching towards her chaotic self starts a dual and finally kills her; kills the ego and chaos in her; finally becoming only her in the conscience. When the yogini opens her eyes, she achieved what we are supposed to achieve from yoga and meditation- self consciousness and enlightenment; the devi within us. Loved it!!

The very essence of our traditions, the crux of our scriptures is that 'Sarvam khalu idam Brahma'. That would very loosely translate to 'Everything is Brahma'. In other words, the feminine is not superior to the masculine. The masculine is not superior to the feminine. Because, both of those are divine. And, consequently, one form of divine is not superior to or inferior to the other. They're merely complementary counterparts. Period.

The yantra she is having in front of her is shree yantra. As per my understanding, this is a representation of what happens when someone falls into meditation. Initially we have thousands thoughts, disturbance, tensions , problems , ego these are evil us. Her aggressive dance represents evil her. And when finally she reached the state of meditation where she found goddess (Kali who is ultimate energy to destroy evil) inside her, the goddess destroyed evil inside her and she found ultimate piece.
First time I saw Bharatanatyam, and this was so powerful, meaningful and mesmerizing . Rukmini, the true Indian beauty, love your dance :)

Yes that’s Shri Yantra. That is Sri Cakra of Lalita Maha Tripurasundari. She is Aadi Parashakti, the highest force or power to exist as well as the primordial force or power to ever exist. Note: If you don’t agree with what I said go read Brahmanda Purana, Lalita Sahasranaama, Sri Tripura Rahasya and the tantras.

I was reciting the mantra of Dakshina Kali for 8 days on only water and Amba suddenly appeared in a ferocious but compassionate form in front of my eyes and I felt my ego dissolve and a cold fire envelope me. At the same time, I feel all-knowing and great but also extremely humbled and grateful to be in the presence of that GREAT MOTHER for which I am so undeserving. If I had to express my experience poetically, this would be it. The performer and creator are certainly blessed by Devi or such a production is not possible.

Великая танцовщица, говорящая со зрителем и заставляющая переживать и бороться с невежеством , злом, помыслами..много раз смотрела, и каждый раз сильное впечатление.. Огромная благодарность Вам, Рукмини.

This was mesmerising beyond words! Not just the dance and performance but the concept, storytelling, art direction...the dark cave like space being lit by diyas to represent light in darkness, and her finally opening her eyes to light as she is blessed by the goddess...such a beautiful tale of the depths of the psyche and spirit...this is not just art...this is sadhana 🙏🏻

Now thats like decoding the Sanatan Dharma DNA through dance & very deep rooted sprituality inherent within us all where Humility and power to Destroy exists side by side, where the Character of a women( Devi) in particular is not just of a creator , protector and Nourisher But she is also the Punisher and destroyer at the same time. Loved the video & appericiate the hard work . Keep Shinning 🌹

@First Name Last Name you are defying your own Jesus !!! True Christians do not behave the way you do.. you re so much engulfed in self love and selfishness that you want to take advantage of your own God Jesus... first of all stop clinging to your cult and wagging your tail for them. You all so called people who trust and want to be protected by Christ... think if you really deserve it... all sinners going and confessing and again making more mistakes and demanding Jesus will save you... no way !!!!!! You have made Jesus your holy slave who can pardon your sin. You do not deserve to have any religion to represent you Mr.Firstname Lastname... flee from here before it’s too late.... you are a shame to your own religion and you are spreading your own inflated ego and going and beating around people. Bible never reprimands any religion. You are spreading hatred and lies which will pave your way to your own hell. Get away from this group ASAP. We Hindus believe in giving our heart and soul to our faith. We believe in sacrifice and surrender... we don’t believe in saving our identities or bodies... for we believe that nothing belongs to us including the soul. We believe in surrendering our identity and becoming a ‘ZERO’. We believe in entwining our thoughts with our favorite God or Goddess selflessly... we believe in non existence. I will be very happy if my God reincarnates me as a small stone ....as long as I am part of that temple.... that is real love and devotion. Not saving yourself and maintaining your identity and praying or demanding your God to do that.... it is a shame ... the whole concept of Christianity... you all are selfish and haters of not only your Christ, but you go around and poke your sinful noses in other people’s affairs. SHAME ON YOU !!!! Mr. First name Last name !!!!!

The exchange between the gaze of Kali and the worshipper at the end is such a raw, rough and powerful feeling. The mania and rage is flaring but in the way of an aunt or mother saying "yes it burns. But you take their flame and it will make you stronger. I hurt you to kill the self that can be hurt"
I have been a faithless american my whole life but spirituality and religion calls so deeply and intrinsically to me. Thank you for sharing your worship and art with the world. With a mindful and loving host, they are one in the same.
    Bless you 💕✨️

    Enlightenment ❤
When she sits for meditation,, she experience all this turmoil of emotions and endless thoughts taking over her but when she surrenders herself completely to the sadhna,, her true self her inner power (that we often refers as Atma Or Bhrahaman Or other different names) when it shines out,, it kills all her endless thoughts..endless emotions..ego of feeling superior or inferior,, only when we surrenders in our sadhna,, we can find answer to all our questions and it is a stage of Enlightenment that many people often relate to❤❤❤
This is my understanding of this beautiful act❤❤ i love watching you Rukmini,, you are at another level for me

This depicts different forms of yoga namely: hatha yoga, bhakti yoga, gnyana yoga which have the common goal of self realization, which can be attained by balancing the tamas, rajas and satwa guna by good practices, devotion and dedication towards the universal soul. Very beautifully depicted in the form of a dance drama.
Nice to see the bloopers at the end where she gives credit to her whole team for the wonderful piece of art. She is a selfless and true artist and a true devotee. Really amazed by her art!!😀😍👏👏👏🙏😊💓❤
