Climate change, while not saying that it is not happening; has been abused by the developed West as a mean to further burden the development of developing and under developed countries.
Now that the developed West find itself way behind on the climate change amelioration process, it is starting to back away from their proclaimed climate change agenda.

Hi Sam, new Australian follower here! Great work and yep totally get the generally bullish market nature of new EV car content. However can you contrast this with content or analysis re what you're seeing in the battery life/cycles/replacement reliability and resale value space etc i.e. yep great, buy a cheaper Chinese or US car now, however what is that Capex vs car depreciation and maintenance gonna look like in 5 years etc? Apologies if I've missed this before being new. Keep up the great work

Saw Lynk & Co showroom next to Lotus on Egypt and a Zeekr large coupe like SUV in Cairo. Even saw a Cadillac Lyriq .
Last year I only saw one electric car there, a Tesla model Y, this month nearly 40. Most being Chinese, BYD (which has been in Egypt more than 10 years), Geeley group etc.
MG I was told had signed an agreement to manufacture cars in Egypt.
I didn’t see any DC chargers while there. The world is changing.
Keep up the great work Sam!

Looking forward to to these cars arriving into the UK but the Government has plans to put tariffs on them making the legacy car companies NOT go bankrupt however this makes the imported Chinees car more unaffordable to the average person which defeats the GO ELECTRIC in cars as as ICE on the road today are going to be worth zero so we will be penalised let’s hope they get round these Tariffs I rented a Link & Co X5 style 18 months ago in France just Superb.Keep up your great Videos 👍

Not a very clear parallel ……. Japan were learning chemical warfare on southern Chinese villages just prior to WW2. The Chinese were a little lost at that point.
Then the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour - that cost Japan two atomic bombs and unconditional surrender. America poleaxed Japan.
Only then we’re China free to move forward again in the world.

The EU cannot afford to have their autmobile businesses going bust because of the resulting huge job losses. IMHO tariffs will be put in place to prevent Chinese EVs entering the market in significant numbers.
Because the land is sunbathed most of the year, Australia will probably go Chinese full throttle.

Viking, hi, if I were you, I would devote more time to Elon Musk's companies and stop criticizing him, because it was Elon Musk who became the impetus for change in the automotive industry. Without Ilona, the whole world would have exploited internal combustion engine technology for another hundred years, hindering innovation. Elon is the one who deserves respect in the first place. And humanoid robots will become available to a wide audience only thanks to Tesla Optimus, other companies will not be able to scale production so much! China has no ideas of its own, they blatantly copy everything. China is plagiarism, even if it is more accessible and cheaper, but it is plagiarism.

Pre-ordered an EX30 and cancelled it when software gremlins delayed shipments to the USA, then tariffs kicked in and killed the USA launch, then? Now full steam ahead. Maybe Volvo will start building this platform in the USA instead of large ICE/hybrid SUVs. 80K/150k post covid truck and SUV sales created a sucker hole, that many legacy car companies may not recover from.

A quick Internet search reveals that half of Geely's sales are ICE vehicles, with the remainder EVs and Hybrids, the breakdown of the latter two are all over the map. I didn't have time for a deep dive to ferret out the truth, which is never easy when it comes to Chinese automakers, and believe me you dig down you'll find all sorts of incongruous numbers and claims. So I wouldn't paint them as a world beating EV company just yet. Not by a long shot.
