Anyone who is a symphonic metal fan who hears this song would know that it's an Epica track and I love that - it's classic Epica and that's why it's one of my favorites from their new album. It's perfect for me especially from 3:08 and on. I rewind to that spot and play it over and over again.. I can't get enough.
It's funny, because it's classic Epica, yet, it''s very new, it's not anything they've done before, and that's one thing I really love about this band, plus the fact that the lyrics actually MEAN something.

This is one of the greatest songs I have heard in quite some time. It is the definition of why I love symphonic metal. The vocals are fantastic, the choir elements give me chills, the lyrics actually mean something, and it is just all around amazing. I just can't get enough of it since I bought it in july. It is so much fun to sing along to, I love testing the range of my own voice.
What do the lyrics mean? They don't mean anything it all, it's just those songs that pretend to have a deep message when infact it doesn't, literally nothing here makes sense.

@@shafaet1194 my modest and very personal interpretation (sorry for my BAD english): what is written in the text seem the point of view of the angels who rebelled against God in Eden, for example the "deceptive games" or the "illusory writings" saided as accusations/sarcasmic criticism are the biblical prophecies (indeed difficult to interpret). When the text refers to "your delusion" (while the video shows the sun with his rays through the clouds...) seem to talk about the "disappointment of God" to the rebellion of his spiritual suns and the first human couple,
and his stance against them (while this "rebellious angels" claim that they will not succumb to it). "Why we should believe you carring you own burden" seem referred to the promises from god (eternal life, happiness etc), and the "burden" that he's carrying is the sacrifice of his first sun, Jesus. As for the time waiting for this "unchained utopia" seem refer about the god's kingdom (an utopian paradise, indeed) that will comes after he unleashes his war in Armagedon. PS: There are several texts of the epica which seem to have taken lot of inspiration from the biblical scriptures and often seen from the same point of view: the song of rebellion against God. Now you can laugh 😁, but honestly it seem pretty clear too me

The beautiful thing about this song is how all the lyrics are engineered from verse 1 to lead to the double rhyme `ball and chain' at the very end.

Same here! Since it got out, I listen to it at least once a day, and I still do, which is quite amazing, knowing that listening to the same songs over and over can get boring, but this album is so amazing I can't get enough. :D

Oh yes, back to 3 years ago when I first discovered Within Temptation and was blown away, a bit averse to how heavy it was, but still magically drawn back to symphonic metal. And I love all the major bands now.

This is One Great Example of why Epica is a Perfect Band. Thanks to Epica for being an important part of my inspiration in the music and a part of my very soul ^^ (Epica, Kamelot, Nightwish, and others are the reason why I started to Play Piano). To pick out something on here. The lyrics which they write are really simple, simple lyrics which I could probably come up in two minutes. How ever, the difference between me and them is how to make these lyrics really amazing. Epica takes these simple lyrics that a beginner might think of and inevitably throw away but Epica just uses them anyway. They have mastered the art of taking something really simple and turning it to just something epic. That is a difficult task and Epica has really learned how to turn the simple into something beautiful.
