    Being a Michigan of course I had to follow JJ Mccarthy to the vikings. When I was listening to KOC's press conference and he said that JJ was on the field practicing before everyone else. That doesn't surprise me one bit. I'm not going to say that he will be a successful nfl quarterback but I can say with confidence that he will put in the work.

    JJ McCarthy weighed in at 219 lbs at the combine and if KOC said he has put on weight since the combine than he must be over 220. Not sure where the 210 is coming from.

    One thing that makes the greats great is that ability to read defenses. JJ is the guy who is going to study study study. Never allow real life drama to come into his life. No partying and all that nonsense. Your going to see progress from JJ every day and once he gets a full year under his belt with reps and learning he is going to be a great QB. So if the Vikings bring him up right he will be fantastic

    It will be a night and day difference from McCarthy‘s first practice to his last practice before the NFL season begins. Don’t forget, he came out as a junior and only played 2 + college, seasons. In major league baseball when a team picks a pitcher in first, they are almost always sent to the minor leagues. Most first round pitchers will start at AA or AAA and then quickly move up if they’re doing well.

    If McCarthy fails, he will fail because he can’t process the game. He won’t fail because of physical abilities because he’s got it all and his work ethic is on par with Brady. This is the first time I’ve ever felt confident in a Vikings QB. To me, due to how he is as a person and his situation, his likelihood to succeed is more probable than it is it fail.

    • @rayrack5416
      @rayrack5416 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I don't even think it would be an inability to process the game. I think it would be getting/staying in his head after a mistake. During his time at Michigan you can see how mistakes affected his gameplay. That being said, I think he was good shaking it off. The interceptions vs. Bowling Green and TCU both showed that he got in his head, made additional mistakes but eventually got over it and came roaring back. In the NFL the competition is WAY more unrelenting. This is my concern.

    You can’t say that. Harbaugh trains his players for the nfl. Quarterback is a lot different than defensive end. Your drafted in the first round as a d end your supposed to start day one. At qb it’s different. You want a qb to sit and learn a lot more. He’s the focal point of the offense. Instead of a cog in the defense. A d end won’t be ruined playing right away. A qb can be ruined by playing him from the get.

      @weelgunny Darnold would have to grow a lot to become an average NFL QB. Average is his absolute ceiling. Lot of purple shades with some fans around Darnold. JJ looks like he was inaccurate in practice. I do understand it’s practice and might have jitters. I am just keeping it 100. I wish him well he best, love his release but I just don’t see it, YET.
