    May not be a Real Secret menu but this is a good reveal tip.
    Also, the big issue with this machine is Descaling.
    Most solutions are too weak for a 90 ounce reservoir, so most instructions do not descale the machine.I know because I have tried and followed the directions. Called several companies who make powder and liquid solutions for help. All were clueless. There is a guy on TH-cam who has come up with a hack that seems to work.

    Quick tip. If the water temp is set too high you may start getting a milk/cream curdling going on. Excessive hot coffee could curdle dairy products.

    • @hithisisneeley1590
      @hithisisneeley1590  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only cleaned the carriage and the exterior. I recently replaced the unit after two years of service. It wasn't automatically turning on and shutting off and I suspect a faulty capacitor. I never cleaned it because I have a water softener and a reverse osmosis filter which isn't recommended but the unit functioned fine with the RO water. I am happy with this product even though I had to replace it. I still have the old unit and may repair it.

    I LOVE this machine!! So worth the investment! Just wish I knew how to change the default cup size setting to a larger size. My machine actually makes up to a 12oz but it’s default is set to 10oz. It’s not a big deal to select the size I want each time but since we’re talking about an extra fancy beverage machine, why not have all my coffee wishes come true?... LOL Thanks for the extra info.👍🏻🌻

    • @hithisisneeley1590
      @hithisisneeley1590  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My pleasure! I’m glad it was informative. BTW I agree. It is only logical to have all of your coffee wishes come true with such a fancy machine. Now that I’m thinking about it...if you go into the secret menu and deselect all other options other than 12oz this should give you the default option (only option) of 12oz. This may work if you are the only person using the machine or if everyone using it wants only 12oz cups. May not be the best solution. Hope this helps!

      Turn off machine (button on back), place index finger on screen; turn back on (to access menu). Select brew sizes tab. Deselect cup sizes you don't want(red X should appear). Press ok button, then home. You're all set.

      @@hithisisneeley1590 mine is brand new this week and the new K155 doesn’t appear to have the 12 ounce setting, just 4,6,8 & 10. When I want the 12 ounce setting, I brew twice, once on 4 and once on 8. Works for me. It’s a nice machine, but a lot of splashing in my cup, tastes awesome though.

      My power went out, and when it came back on my Keurig, K1500 would only beep occasionally… Absolutely zero lights or anything. A friend of mine replaced some thing… capacitors I think on the motherboard… he said they were swollen & it was an easy fix…under $10. Now it works perfectly. I love this machine I don’t want it to die ever.❤😊 I want to know what would happen if I connected my Keurig K1500 to the phone line… It has a phone jack in the back has anyone done that? Is it for updates?

    How do you clean it, I have mine plumbed in too. Just dont know how to descale.

    • @hithisisneeley1590
      @hithisisneeley1590  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheMduggan84 I haven’t crossed that bridge yet and it may be sometime before I need to deal with it. I installed a water softener for the house and reverse osmosis filter for the drinking water and ice maker which is where I “T’d” off for the Keurig. This greatly reduced (almost eliminated) the amount of scale and hard water in the House. It took the drinking water of over 300 ppm of solids to under 20 ppm (I think). The system also replace the “hard” part of the water which is magnesium and calcium with salt which makes it “soft”. Anyway I am far from an expert on what it does technically but as a consumer it keeps scale off of everything which was a huge problem before. So I’m sorry I don’t have an answer but I do recommend a reverse osmosis filter for drinking water and coffee. Have a great day.

      I’ve found the most effective way is to first run a solution of bleach from the tank. Run 12oz cup, drain the hot and cold lines, blow on the lines. Then repeat the previous steps. If possible let the machine air dry after the second cleaning. Then take all the user accessible parts apart and wash, I use a spray bottle on the handle. You can’t damage it from spraying on the handle. I used to get a foul oder despite religious cleaning. It took me a while to figure it’s from the stagnant water from the drain lines full of snot like bacteria. If your machine does break don’t try to repair it, this model has at least 3 pumps, and loads of sensors. Even if you fix it, it’s almost impossible to put back together 100% correctly. I’ve had bad results using vinegar, as it alters the taste even after subsequent rinses. If you have hard water it might be the only option.

      hardkore360 to be honest I think it might be in the manual but not sure how I learned of it. Actually it is hooked up to a reverse osmosis filter that we have under the sink. That filter feeds a three gallon reservoir which feeds the drinking water at the sink, ice maker and the Keurig.

I used bpa free plastic “t’s” , tubes and valves from Home Depot and bought the brass connectors to the water inlet from a plumbing store. I just purchased the K155 Office Pro and the Direct plumb kit. I hooked up the tank and water line along with the connector from the direct plumb kit into the back of the K155. Once plugged in it did't fill the tank. I looked up the brewer and it says that the K155 Office Pro isn't compatible with the direct plumb kit although it has the electrical connection for it. Can you confirm that you have the exact brewer in the link you provided from Amazon? That the one I purchased from there as well.

      Thank you for responding! That is the same model I have. If you read the bottom of the description it says it does not work with the direct plumb kit. I hadn’t noticed that before purchasing it.
      That being said, when I was installing the tank I removed two screws from the base of the machine and removed a plate to allow the new tank to sit in and be fastened to the base. Then the second piece removed was on the rear of the machine to allow for the connector to be exposed.

      Junk Food Man Channel if you want hot water all you have to do is open it and take out the old k-Cup if one is still in there and then close it. This will activate the machine and you can select how many ounces of hot water you want. When I do this I often take out the carriage the K-Cups sit in and rinse it to clear any residual coffee or tea then return it to the machine. Enjoy!
