The Secure-Ex sheathes are definitely a problem Scab. I just looked on Cold Steel's website and even their most expensive knives use a secure-ex sheath. The most expensive being the Natchez bowie in CPM-3V which they have listed at $629.99.
Great vid Scab and 100% agree, on a cheap knife sure cheap sheath, but when your paying $200 and up for a knife (some are as high as $600 or more) the sheath should be just as good as the knife is. Plastic has its place but not when your spending a bunch of money on it. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
A custom chopper is definitely twice the price. It will be interesting to see how the 2 Harsey's compare I love the Defensa. Glad you got a break with your family Brother.
Damn Good video my Ga Brother my personality is just like yours we use humour and sarcasm and great personality and we stand on business for right and wrong it must be you being raised in Ga I'm glad you're being yourself brother I do to Lol my name is Israel my parents gave me the perfect name cause I keep everything 💯 and we need more real ppl like us and others in the knife and EDC community in the world Great Hearts but we stand up for ourselves and others.. I hope you knock the knife sheaf making out of the park!!! Keep Rockin Forward brother 👊✌️😎
You just might be seeing an affordable, all USA made line of knives soon enough. I am working diligently on it. It is one of the many projects I got going. My shoulder injury slowed me down for a few months but I'm almost back in biz.
Modern Frontiersman and Bugout Bushido (here on TH-cam) work with hand-making gear/leathercraft. Might want to touch base with them to see if they have interest. Great guys.
I am excited for you about the sheath business! I see a lot of potential. I have also heard sbout the handles on the SRK and had thought that would be a satisfying job for me, to rehandle one in contoured hardwood. If you know someone who requires the service, I can do the first one for free as an experiment.
I've been doing kydex sheaths and holsters for awhile now. In case you need some tips, give me a push. For a blade like the SRK it'spretty easy to make a nice kydex sheath.

Welcome. Both Veterans.
My trail master loosen up after 12 years of use now has a monster elk handle but if I love a knife I'll get a good sheath
Great plan Scab.
This is exciting news man! Would you consider making a leather sheath for the V44X?

I'm always surprised by how many really good knives come with crappy sheaths. I do some leather work so I make my own, but a person shouldn't have to.
2nd in line hey scab
