Lately because of drama 2521, I tried to watch other Kim tae ri's drama. I thought I hate historical drama like Mr sunshine but gosh, the drama has been portrayed beautifully. Love go ae shin n other male leads that revolve around her.

This drama has the greatest set ever imo, great budget, great set, great directorial, great actors, great acting too, great chemistry and just great overall LMAO Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri are killing it!!! And Byun Yo han and Yoo Yun Seok as well as Kim Min Jung seriously slay too!! XDXD I've watched my fair share of dramas since Goong and Full House, but in terms of acting, Mr Sunshine easily tops it all! Ofc this is all imo anyway XDXD

This is now the best Kdrama for me. I can't believe I only watched it now. Not a second or any part of the drama is a waste of time. Overall, this drama is so good i thought time passes by so fast as I watch this. I've only started it 2 days ago and i find myself not wanting to continue since i know I'm not gonna get over it. I also fell inlove with all the characters especially the leading men, yujin, huiseong and dong mae😍😍😍. Superb!
Me too! I’m in the US. I just finished the kings affection and wanted another historical K drama. Well this fulfilled all my needs! And then some 💗 it is fabulous. Loved all the actors. They are incredible!
I have just watched it. gosh why am I too late finding this gem. definitely my top 3 kdramas so far. its just too good idk how to describe it other than perfection. the scripts are written so beautifully, there’s no cheesy and unimportant conversation in this drama. and this is my first time crying so hard watching a drama seriously. and I still cant move on😭 I keep repeating the last 2 episodes and still end up crying. the chemistry of byunghun and taeri are beyond this world, their love is so pure and strong, they dont have a kissing scene but how can they maintain that chemistry? its just amazing for me. overall this is a masterpiece. no doubt.

Just started watching this drama. I already saw Lee ByungHun in All IN and since then he became my favourite Korean actor. In this drama he was even more cool. I never knew Kim Tae-ri and this maybe the first time I have seen her. I actually admired her so much. Her strong gaze was something unforgettable. It's rare for me to have a drama where I admire both lead roles. It's like I even started comparing them. Great drama!
Kim Taeri is a chemistry queen whoever she works ,she is the perfect partner,she can play any age character too,first I was so attached with her and Lee Byunghun, aeshin -eugene story is pure love I was stupid first to watch it because of agegap but after watching it I didnt felt a agegap at all. Her little romance with ryujunyeol in little forest, her lesbian role in handmaiden ,twenty five twenty one role with Namjoohyuk too surprised me she looks really like a teenager ,her acting chemistry with him is so good . Mr Sunshine is a masterpiece still to me no drama can top it
She isn't the prettiest actress in S. Korea, but she just might be the most talented. Her versatility is incredible, believable no matter what character type she plays. Mr. Sunshine, The Handmaiden, and 25 21 all required different, Very Different, personalities on screen, and she just Delivered. Damn!
And beauty is subjective but she is definitely gorgeous . There are many actresses who are known to be called beauties but who cant act at all too much over acting always same type roles . I rather watch actors actresses who can really act & with very charming personalities than just pretty faces.
One of the best kdrama that I’ve seen. At first I wasn’t interested because historical dramas are sometime boring and dragging. But after the 1st episode, I was hooked. The actors and actresses were exceptional, especially Kim Taeri. I was surprised by how great she was in the drama. She was a rookie yet her acting was phenomenal. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Im still cant get over from this drama. It's left me hearbroken and the romance was so good even there's no kiss scene but you still can feel the romance between them. The chemistry was so good. I love this drama so much.

Lee Byunghun is one gorgeous sophisticated gentleman, he has such a serious way about him, maybe it's his age that makes him so sexy, but, I just love his acting and of course his handsome face is a delight to watch. I just wish him & his co-star had a kiss or two in this series, I've watched it soooo many times. I think she is 20 years younger, they fall in love so it would have been appropriate, I think. I am gonna watch more of his movies/series if I can find them.
A thread below asked for a second season, but it won't happen. Just one of the things I found so incredible about Mr. Sunshine was the story lines of the supporting roles. Just one example is the love and devotion displayed on screen by Lady Go Ae Shin's personal servants was so incredibly well done it would make a great drama, telling the story from their viewpoint. Or the Gunners' story, from the opening battle. Just two examples.
I just finished watching this drama. Honestly, I did cry a lot. This drama becomes one of my favorite dramas. I am so amazed at the actors. They really did a good job. Kudos to the Production team of Mr. Sunshine. I love you all.
It’s hard to refrain from comments about this stunning exciting drama. Appreciated much the actors comments on Soompi as their ‘story’ came to a close. As a USA viewer, the no holds barred graphic depiction of this turbulent era in Korean history was difficult to watch and take in. This little country has witnessed and participated in so many wars and national disturbances over its loooong history. The US has gone through several ‘wars’ on our home front, but we are such a young nation compared to Korea and not experienced anything compared. Again, and again, mahalo, thx many times for the lead acting ensemble. Superb!! The drama will long be remembered and probably revisited!
This is an excellent drama with great directing, great acting, and amazing cinematography and story. Watching on Netflix. I am only on episode 4 but wow just wow.
This was my 1st time watching Mr. Sunshine (then re-watched it like 10 more times but fast forwarding just to the romance parts). I'm so glad that I gave this K-drama a chance because in the beginning when I was scrolling for new chick flicks/romance on Netflix, I saw this and read the information on it, I wasn't really interested but I skimmed through the episodes and found that there were some thrilling romantic scenes and so I started watching it. Wow! I got hooked! I've never heard of any of these actors but after watching this drama, it made me curious to watch their other shows/movies and upcoming one like for Kim Tae Ri, 'Twenty-five, Twenty-one'. I'm sure it'll also be a good performance by her.
Lee Byung Hun is really something... I hate him with all my heart when his scandal came off... but in this drama, i just can't help it.. i fall in love with him and his character, and everything... damn him and his amazing charm..
Melodie Masala he was cheating on his wife and got blackmailed by the women he cheated with... 2 girls, one was an idol group member called GLAM, the other one was a model..
+blue giraffe - Careful. We have this thing which goes; "innocent till proven guilty." If I'm not mistaken there is no proof of sex with those girls. It is only hearsay. The only fact about the case is the blackmail or rather someone trying to squeeze money out of a rich movie/tv star. I'm not a fan of LBH myself, I never understood his appeal, and he maybe guilty but in the absence of evidence we can't rule out that he may be a victim.
Muddy Woo you don't have to do sex to cheat on your partner, imo... he acted all flirty and said those words to the two girls who blackmailed him was enough proof that he didn't have faith on his wife..
I think this is one the best chemistry the kdramas had and will have. I can't stop smiling with them even with just the holding hands. I'm amazed how kim eunsok and the whole team managed to bring that romantic tension, even if the farthest physical touch they could get was just a hug, and not even a kiss on the check. I was not even prepared with the ending, my only consolation is that Go Ae Sin parents met in independent korea as militaries in Descendants of the Sun hahhaha My first time to watch LBH and KTR. LBH is really a good actor and KTR just broke my heart every time she cries. I just fisnished watching this last night, regretting that i haven't watched it sooner ;( Who wants the Season 2, where they meet in a now independent Korea?

But i cant deny, after i watch him played Eugene Choi, I immediately fall in love with his acting skills. Same goes to all actor and actress that involve in Mr Sunshine; Kim Tae Ri, Yoo Yoon Seok, Byung Yo Han, Kim Minjung etc. 👏🏼💗 Yeah, this drama and all casts needs more awards as it is one of drama that have great story plotting and cinematography always on point. 🌸

I am an English speaking Canadian who has discovered Korean movies with English subtitles? I absolutely loved Mr. Sunshine. The history, the superb acting, excellent cinematography, the actors, the storyline, humour and learning about the Korean people is awesome. These actors are the best I have ever seen! It was so emotional that I couldn’t get enough of the story! The ending was so tragic and not what I was hoping for. Every actor was perfect!
I started watching K-Dramas on Netflix about 2 years ago and I recently finished Mr Sunshine. It was the best of the K-Dramas I have seen. Eugene Choi is a superb character and in my opinion, Lee Byunghun was the one to watch. Kim Taeri did an excellent job as well, but I think the Eugene Choi story is the more compelling one. Also, this drama made me more interested in the Joseon dynasty and the political turmoil that Korea faced at the time. Everyone one played their parts well, and character development with all of the back stories was just right, with enough sub plots to alway have something in every episode that make that episode as good as the rest. Highly worth watching. (I always use the sub titles. I don't speak Korean, but I like to hear the way the director wanted them to emote and you don't always get this with dubbing. It think it enriches the experience to hear the actors in their natural voices using the inflections and tonality of the Korean culture.
Only in Episode #5 but this is a great drama so far. The story is so well written and the actors are superb! Lee Byunghun is the first Korean actor that I saw and he is just fantastic. This is the first time seeing Kim Taeri, she is so beautiful, and her performance so far already has me rooting for her. I am going to binge thru this one!😍😍😍
I love this Kdrama.. Ive watched this and all are superb to its finest from all its casts cinematography and the story and all the actors' their acting skills deserve awards.. .. Just can't wait for the season 2..hopefully soon..
I just can't get over this drama. It's perfect. The perfect story, perfect actors, all the setting is just beautiful. I love how it's realistic and romantic, I could feel easily how the characters felt and for the first time I didn't suffer from the second lead syndrome, Ae Sin could end with any of the three boys that I would not be upset about it. I'm watching it for the third time already.
Thoroughly enjoyed Mr Sunshine. Amazing talent across the screens. First intro to Lee Byung-hun and wow did he deliver, I thought what the heck where did he come from, why haven't I seen any of his movies. As for Yoo Yeong Seok he has always been a favorite of mine. I thought the female leads were excellent.

She isn't the prettiest actress in S. Korea, but she just might be the most talented. Her versatility is incredible, believable no matter what character type she plays. Mr. Sunshine, The Handmaiden, and 25 21 all required different, Very Different, personalities on screen, and she just Delivered. Damn!

And beauty is subjective but she is definitely gorgeous . There are many actresses who are known to be called beauties but who cant act at all too much over acting always same type roles . I rather watch actors actresses who can really act & with very charming personalities than just pretty faces.

One of the best kdrama that I’ve seen. At first I wasn’t interested because historical dramas are sometime boring and dragging. But after the 1st episode, I was hooked. The actors and actresses were exceptional, especially Kim Taeri. I was surprised by how great she was in the drama. She was a rookie yet her acting was phenomenal. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Im still cant get over from this drama. It's left me hearbroken and the romance was so good even there's no kiss scene but you still can feel the romance between them. The chemistry was so good. I love this drama so much.

Lee Byunghun is one gorgeous sophisticated gentleman, he has such a serious way about him, maybe it's his age that makes him so sexy, but, I just love his acting and of course his handsome face is a delight to watch. I just wish him & his co-star had a kiss or two in this series, I've watched it soooo many times. I think she is 20 years younger, they fall in love so it would have been appropriate, I think. I am gonna watch more of his movies/series if I can find them.
A thread below asked for a second season, but it won't happen. Just one of the things I found so incredible about Mr. Sunshine was the story lines of the supporting roles. Just one example is the love and devotion displayed on screen by Lady Go Ae Shin's personal servants was so incredibly well done it would make a great drama, telling the story from their viewpoint. Or the Gunners' story, from the opening battle. Just two examples.

It’s hard to refrain from comments about this stunning exciting drama. Appreciated much the actors comments on Soompi as their ‘story’ came to a close. As a USA viewer, the no holds barred graphic depiction of this turbulent era in Korean history was difficult to watch and take in. This little country has witnessed and participated in so many wars and national disturbances over its loooong history. The US has gone through several ‘wars’ on our home front, but we are such a young nation compared to Korea and not experienced anything compared. Again, and again, mahalo, thx many times for the lead acting ensemble. Superb!! The drama will long be remembered and probably revisited!

This is an excellent drama with great directing, great acting, and amazing cinematography and story. Watching on Netflix. I am only on episode 4 but wow just wow.
This was my 1st time watching Mr. Sunshine (then re-watched it like 10 more times but fast forwarding just to the romance parts). I'm so glad that I gave this K-drama a chance because in the beginning when I was scrolling for new chick flicks/romance on Netflix, I saw this and read the information on it, I wasn't really interested but I skimmed through the episodes and found that there were some thrilling romantic scenes and so I started watching it. Wow! I got hooked! I've never heard of any of these actors but after watching this drama, it made me curious to watch their other shows/movies and upcoming one like for Kim Tae Ri, 'Twenty-five, Twenty-one'. I'm sure it'll also be a good performance by her.
Lee Byung Hun is really something... I hate him with all my heart when his scandal came off... but in this drama, i just can't help it.. i fall in love with him and his character, and everything... damn him and his amazing charm..

+blue giraffe - Careful. We have this thing which goes; "innocent till proven guilty." If I'm not mistaken there is no proof of sex with those girls. It is only hearsay. The only fact about the case is the blackmail or rather someone trying to squeeze money out of a rich movie/tv star. I'm not a fan of LBH myself, I never understood his appeal, and he maybe guilty but in the absence of evidence we can't rule out that he may be a victim.
Muddy Woo you don't have to do sex to cheat on your partner, imo... he acted all flirty and said those words to the two girls who blackmailed him was enough proof that he didn't have faith on his wife..
I think this is one the best chemistry the kdramas had and will have. I can't stop smiling with them even with just the holding hands.
I'm amazed how kim eunsok and the whole team managed to bring that romantic tension, even if the farthest physical touch they could get was just a hug, and not even a kiss on the check.
I was not even prepared with the ending, my only consolation is that Go Ae Sin parents met in independent korea as militaries in Descendants of the Sun hahhaha
My first time to watch LBH and KTR. LBH is really a good actor and KTR just broke my heart every time she cries.

Tbh i never watch any drama of Lee Byung Hun. The reason why maybe because i heard some wild gossips about him. But i cant deny, after i watch him played Eugene Choi, I immediately fall in love with his acting skills. Same goes to all actor and actress that involve in Mr Sunshine; Kim Tae Ri, Yoo Yoon Seok, Byung Yo Han, Kim Minjung etc. 👏🏼💗 Yeah, this drama and all casts needs more awards as it is one of drama that have great story plotting and cinematography always on point. 🌸

I am an English speaking Canadian who has discovered Korean movies with English subtitles? I absolutely loved Mr. Sunshine. The history, the superb acting, excellent cinematography, the actors, the storyline, humour and learning about the Korean people is awesome. These actors are the best I have ever seen! It was so emotional that I couldn’t get enough of the story! The ending was so tragic and not what I was hoping for. Every actor was perfect!
How can anyone not fall in love with Kim Taeri ?
I started watching K-Dramas on Netflix about 2 years ago and I recently finished Mr Sunshine. It was the best of the K-Dramas I have seen. Eugene Choi is a superb character and in my opinion, Lee Byunghun was the one to watch. Kim Taeri did an excellent job as well, but I think the Eugene Choi story is the more compelling one. Also, this drama made me more interested in the Joseon dynasty and the political turmoil that Korea faced at the time. Everyone one played their parts well, and character development with all of the back stories was just right, with enough sub plots to alway have something in every episode that make that episode as good as the rest. Highly worth watching. (I always use the sub titles. I don't speak Korean, but I like to hear the way the director wanted them to emote and you don't always get this with dubbing. It think it enriches the experience to hear the actors in their natural voices using the inflections and tonality of the Korean culture.

Only in Episode #5 but this is a great drama so far. The story is so well written and the actors are superb! Lee Byunghun is the first Korean actor that I saw and he is just fantastic. This is the first time seeing Kim Taeri, she is so beautiful, and her performance so far already has me rooting for her. I am going to binge thru this one!😍😍😍

I just can't get over this drama. It's perfect. The perfect story, perfect actors, all the setting is just beautiful. I love how it's realistic and romantic, I could feel easily how the characters felt and for the first time I didn't suffer from the second lead syndrome, Ae Sin could end with any of the three boys that I would not be upset about it.

Thoroughly enjoyed Mr Sunshine. Amazing talent across the screens. First intro to Lee Byung-hun and wow did he deliver, I thought what the heck where did he come from, why haven't I seen any of his movies. As for Yoo Yeong Seok he has always been a favorite of mine. I thought the female leads were excellent.
