It breaks my heart to hear that this type of bullying actually happens (and even worse than portrayed in the show) 😢
Did you notice Yeon-jin's daughter was young Woo Young-Woo?
I love you decided to react to this show. You will like it.
Pyo Ye-rim, the real life victim, have passed away a while ago. It is very tragic. 😭
wait she passed away? omg what a tragic life she had to endure only to die so young. Fuck man :(@@darrenlai2436
the burning with the hair straightener was based on an actual bullying case, was shocked when i found that out
she isn't the flat iron girl , there's multiple cases that inspired the show she only came clean after the show so i doubt she's was a source of inspiration @@darrenlai2436
this was hands down my favorite show of the year! can't wait to relive this with you guys!
I agree, it was absolutely an amazing show.
Yeah
This and Atty. Woo were the stand outs last year..very different but both sparks much needed conversations.
@@cassiedlp847 I need to watch Attn Woo
Yes…same here…. One of the best nd on top of that achara reacting…I’m here for it ❤❤
This is a true story that happened to a lot of people in Korea I was shocked by the many stories that were real
Yes, and the saddest part in the real world is that the bully is the winner.
A victim who got successful in life and in carrier, and succeeds in getting their revenge is a pretty rare.
That's why all the movies with this theme always have a lot of viewers because that's like a dream come true.
yeah
@@fwailu7322 adding to your comment: the perpetrators hardly get fair punishment since many Korean celebrities have their pasts exposed. It's all too sad :/
Its extreme but that actually happened. This show is based on the real incident. There’s interviews of these kids. Its such a heartbreaking thing to watch. Can’t imagine someone going through it. No one deserves it 😢
This series got a very top tier cinematography ive ever seen. Every shot is made with purpose and full with emotion.
Right! Add that script, acting and scoring! It was well made drama, I must say! High five for this K drama!
@@taylor6101ful everything was perfect except the first 3 episode. The flow of the character revealing of the chairman for the school she was about to apply, is somewhat a bit messy and confusing at first. But they all kinda make sense after ep4.
@@fared___3409 yeah. But since it was Korean I focused on the sub so much and after a few reply I got it..haha!
@@fared___3409 I think that is a bit on purpose. There is no part of thew backstory, or any possible flashbacks that relate to the chairman. He is essentially just a pawn in her game. I think maybe for non-Korean speakers is is more confusing can intended, since Korean names are so different than what we are used to, and it is very difficult to both follow and remember the names mentioned in the documents she pieces together from his trash. Because of this, every reactor I have watched fails to catch on to that the trash is NOT from one of the bullies, but from someone completely unrelated to any of them. So every reactor ends up assuming that the aid works for one of the bullies, and that the reason she wants to help is because she too is somehow one of their victims. This instinctive assumption makes her sudden request for help in killing her husband even more confounding.
@@fordhouse8b yup. I also think the chairman is related the bullies at first, but hes just a sidekick for dongeun to get a place to teach at the school.
Fun fact, the guy who played hero in this series which is Lee Do-hyun and who played one of the girl that bullying Moon Dong-eun which is Park Yeon-jin her real name is Lim Ji-yeon, they're actually date each other in real life, after they meet in this drama.
I firmly believe that Song Hye Kyo was perfect for the role. Sometimes it feels like the character was written especially for her, that's how amazing she portrait this character.
I didn't realize Achara hasn't watched this yet! Looking forward to watching your reactions 😊
i have a list of kdramas that i hope you guys react to in the future:
1. Mr Sunshine
2. THe Golden Spoon
3. Twinkling Watermelon
4. Crash Landing on You
5. Flower of Evil
MR. SUNSHINEEEEEEEEEEE
The golden spoon was sooo good but the ending was a bit disappointing
@@yuktagames9378 i agree, classic k drama forced kinsa happy ending lol
TWINKLING WATERMELON MY FAVVVVV
yayyy. im so happy youre getting into this drama. this was definitely one of my favorites of 2022. the acting and the story was sooo good. its hard to believe that some of the bullying you see happened to actual people in korea. School bullying in korea is no joke...even to this day, you still see and hear about similar situations.
Also, idk if you recognixed him, Achara. The actor who plays the police officer/inspector in this drama was also in Bloodhounds and Moving. :)
there's also an interview show where a bullied victim came forward to ask for advice on whether she should take revenge on her bullies. In the interview, she mentions how her friends told her that the incidents from the show mirrored her experience. She talks about how she was burned by a curling iron for 5 mins. How she was intensely physically abused by her bullies while she was also trying to protect her younger brother and being worried for his safety as well. She found out that one of them does fundraising for non-profits and another has a license in nursing and social work. She also mentioned that while she got an apology, they were all smirking at her. its crazy...how this kinda stuff gets swept under the rug in korea. :(
just recently there was a young schoolteacher who got harassed and bullied by parents so intensely that she committed suicide at the school and was found by her colleagues (i think the teacher was only 23).
I remember when my brother was an english tutor in korea a while back. And he was warned not to speak Korean around the parents because once the parents find out you can speak Korean, some will harass you with questions about their kids and some will think youre incompetent if their kids are struggling in the classes or during the tutoring sessions...
It's 2023 ig
@@Namra07 part 1 came out in 2022 and par 2 came out in 2023. i was thinking about part 1 when i made the initial comment and the subsequent edit
I love Achara's reactions!!
1. 고데기 장면은 픽션이 아닌, 한국에서 실제로 있었던 사건입니다..
1. The curling iron scene is not a fiction, but an actual incident in Korea..
2. 예전에는, 한국 선생님들이 학생들을 폭행하는건 당연한 하루 일과였습니다. 그러나, 지금은 학교 선생님들이 학생들한테 폭행 당하는 시대가 되었구요~
2. In the past, it was natural for Korean teachers to assault students. However, now is the time when school teachers are assaulted by students

Song Hye Kyo of The Glory for winning Best Actress Award at BaeksangArtsAwards2023
In 2012, the South Korean Department of Education did a survey involving a total of 1 million elementary, middle and high school students - the findings showed that almost 10% of them had been a victim of school violence at least once.
Thank you soooooo much for your reactions❤ korean cinema is elite whether it be dramas or movies you're in for a ride
Cannot begin to explain how much I loved this!! Always wanted you people to cover this!!

I'm here with you with this series! Best k-drama in 2022 hands down..you guys are inn for a ride!
최근에 가장 재밌게 봤던 드라마! 그리고 안타깝지만 고데기로 화상을 입힌 일도 실제로 있었던 사건이며 과거에는 선생님이 학생을 폭행하는 일도 실제로 있었던 일이랍니다...
The iron bullying case was real in south korea. But the revenge plots are inspired from the real case in Japan.
From Japan? Which one?
Yes! I've been waiting for this reaction💜
외쳐!! 아차라 컬크!!!! thx for your reaction again!
Yeayyy im happy you watch this. Love u guys❤
I recently finished this drama and for sure it is my most favourite i was was hoping achara would watch it and she did ❤ yayyy!
11:57 notice how the light coming from door made a symbol of cross behind female lead right after they(bully) made fun of all the teachings going on in the church??. This show really had such great details😌. It also symbolises that now the female lead will become the justice. It was a beautiful scene❤️
Happy to see your reaction on this drama😍❤

omg my fav series EVER!
O waaao this one is great i m happy u reacting on it
I have been avoiding this show like the plague because I know I'll get upset at all the bullying but I'll watch it now that I have your reactions to motivate me
this kdrama was sooooooo good! i've watched it twice and it's so heartbreaking yet impactful that i could happily watch it several more times. such a shame this actually happens to kids in Korea though..especially since part of it is from a real incident.
OMG Achara is watching The Glory❤👏💕
this drama spawn from the question of the child of the writer. the kid asked her "what would you do if someone bully me" she said that since she's got the resources, she'll make sure they are punished. but she got to thinking, what if it happened to someone who doesn't have that. and thus, the glory happened.
잘 보고 갑니다 😊😊
"Don't take it out on the kid tho." People can sympathize with anything but other human beings.
OMG FINALLY THE GLORY❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Unfortunately this kdrama is based on several real cases that occurred in Korea☹️ and
I think the series took it easy portraying the cases because in reality they were worse
Oh yeah really want to achara to watch glory ...🎉
Everytime I want to visit Korea, I remember these drama😂😂😅
8:14 In Korea, from 1961 to 2010, it was natural for teachers to beat students. But since the advent of the smartphone, corporal punishment has disappeared as all the evidence has been in the news.
Two of my favourite people reaction to one of my favourite shows.. it's a good day😊. This is really a good drama and sad at the same time that this kind of bullying happens in real too..
This is one of the best Korean tv series I've seen in a long time😢
The musical score on this drama is just top notch and what really draws the viewer in and get so invested without realizing it. Without the score, it would just turn out to be one of those kdramas. The plot is generic and simple, and has already been recycled so many times but what made this show emotionally complex is the excellent musical score, every melody and note has a purpose, it serves as the translator of their thoughts when the characters' mouths are shut, it really cuts deep---which is so poetic
I think the story was written so well that the whole story was just poetic and every scene too. You add the acting and cinematography, but i do agree that the scoring was also not to be neglected! That's what made this Drama a top notch, an actual work of art and I ain't a K drama fan!
Great choice
I hope you are watching it with the standard subtitle and the subtitle on this video is just for post production. If you watch with te cc one, it will be hard to understand as the show goes on.
Oh good lord. That’s foreboding. We’re watching with the subtitles that Netflix provides.
i was hoping for happiness or flower of evil but glory is also good very good choice.... hope you watch halpuness and flower of evil next 😊😊😊😊
You picked the right one
1 of my Favorite K-Drama. Team Moon Dong-eun Let's GO !
yes!! achara and vivian :D
The glory is one of the best series i have ever seen amazing and heartbroken 😢
This is an amalgam of at least three different true stories/actions. Yes, a young woman was bullied and burned with a curling iron in South Korea, as an adult she did an interview about it and this story. I read recently though that she did unalive herself not too long ago. The second story was about a boy who was bullied in South Korea who waited 12 years to seek revenge he tried to set up a class reunion and then attempted to blow up the venue when all of those bullies arrived. He was found out the day before I believe so the plan was thwarted and he was arrested. So the bullying with the curling iron and the waiting years for revenge came from those two incidents. There have also been real-life incidents of abuse by teachers which has been challenged not too long ago and is no longer allowed in schools. This was an awesome series - great reaction.
Thank you
Korean's masterpiece for me! The first episode was really tough! But it set up the story really well!
It will be a rollercoaster ride! A lot of K drama's are overrated! But this one top of the line drama! It was a great story telling! And the acting, Moon Dong Eun (the main character) was amazing! Can't wait for episode 2!
the sad part is it's based on a true story (except for the revenge part)
I can’t wait for you to see how Dong Euns story unfolds!
These kind of bullying is common in korean. I would suggest you to watch Stephanie soo's video about this Glory series. She talks in details about the real events of bullying there.
Please watch "Twinkling Watermelon" after this💜
The kdrama will air it's last episode today. So it's finished
And the shocking part is that it's a true story
The iron bullying thing
The curling iron story is based on real incident that happened in 2006
It's the best drama ever.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This show has a pilot episode which is hard to even complete.....its very sad....Song hye kyo is my fav
어머~~ 더 글로리까지 보셨네요 ㅎㅎ 마이네임, 스위트홈에 더 글로리까지 😊 이것도 넘 재밌는데, 학교폭력씬이 잔인하죠 ㅠㅠ
Do "My Name".
welcome to this crazy k-drama~
Best of the best kdrama revenge so smooth and smart
Oh my, ladies. You find a feelgood show with cute characters.😉
This show is based on true story and the sad news is the actual victim on this story Pyo Yerim (in real life) just passed away 4 days ago by suicide
I am an Indian watching korean drama reaction on cinetofu .. Big cinedesi as well as kdrama fan
Looking for more ❤
I have seen Bullying so much in Korean dramas that I am hesitant to watch kdrama with Bullying lately.... But Glory was a exemption bcs I like the actress very much (one of the korean female actress that I'm obsessed with).... But ended up liking the drama aswell... Just first few episodes were hard to watch....
plz watch decendents of the sun next u gonna love it
Oh, yeah. Please react to "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" or "Twinkling Watermelon" after this for something lighter.
you need to react on kaala paani as well. I am looking forward to it :)
You know those glue stick guns? An older kid used to "accidently" burnt with it a couple of times. The things happened to multiple kids. But nothing to the extent of this one kid in particular was constantly targeted by the same bully; like every single day and I was a bystander. I was a kid myself but I never forgot that one time I witness the bully stab that kid palm with a pencil so hard it pierced through the other side. I always wondered where and how that kid ends up.
Oh, I know where the bully ended up. Apparently, there's rumour that he went to jail for murder but i did research; it was actually for drug and arsons.
5:10 Extraordinary actor Woo - baby Woo Young Woo
We Need a Reaction on „the worst of evil“
The curling incident is actually based on a real bullying in ident that happened in SK.
Yes ma'am yesss
My bullying experience was more psychological, but watching the show triggered repressed memory when I just let people burn my skin with cigarettes… I was 15, I felt nothing and didn’t even defend myself. I couldn’t fully understand that was part of one of the many was I had been dehumanized by my peers.
One of the best drama of all time soon that teacher got his lesson
some might think the bullying is excessive and the evilness of the bullies are over-the-top but some of these scenes are based on real-life cases and they're even much worse. oftentimes it's how they were raised but i've personally met bullies whose parents are upstanding kind people who tried to raise their children well. the other siblings are kind too but their one child just turned out to be rotten who can appear nice around authority figures but evil among people she thinks are weak and powerless. when the parents found out, they disciplined her accordingly and made her apologize to everyone she hurt directly so it shows that they don't spoil their child. it's a sad reality that there are truly evil people who just find joy and sense of superiority in making other people suffer.
Oww typically korean teacher at 1980~ 2010
Pls also react to some old but gold k-drama series like Welcome to Waikiki, Mr.Queen or fiery Priest😊luv u guys❤
I think you should watch Flower of Evil it's like one of the best dramas of all time
The fact that this was based on a real bullying incident was insane.
hands down one of the best shows of this year
Teachers are also bullied mentally so bad by the parents. I keep hearing about the unalives b/c of it. Super sad. It always upsets me though when Teachers bully/hit kids in these movies, cause what?! This show's curling iron bullying did happen real life in Korea.
헉 더글로리 안보셨구나..!
I Know this is early, but I really hope you choose My Mister as your next K-Drama. It's better than any you've reacted to so far. And you've reacted to some great ones. Plus it stars IU, the undisputed Queen of KPOP
React to "The Worst of Evil"
