Just clarifying for context...it's not that triangle kimbap is Dongeun's favourite...it's the cheapest, but slightly more filling item you can get from the convenience store 24-hours a day. That's how she's living...eating to stay alive and focusing all her energy and money on her revenge. It reinforces how the revenge is the only thing that keeps her going and her life was taken from her although she still exists. She's not enjoying her life and achieving what she potentially could have if all had been well.
And because she had trauma from burn noise so she only eat cold food
In Korea, you cook your own food using fire on the table during meals, but she don't do that because....
I don't think saving money is her main reason for eating gimbab all the time. She has severe ptsd of heat, so she never cooks and she can't eat hot food, she only eats cold food which is gimbab

I also feel because she cannot be near open flames or cooking meats. The convenience store fulfills her needs and she doesn't have to cook as well.

I have 2 words to say to that- WORTH IT!!
I also binged watch it but for 3 days because of their reaction. It was really all worth it tho.
It's that kind of kdrama that makes you addicted and obsessed with watching it over and over again
These are the facts
I think the scene with the Kettle was her trying to remind her the pain she went through and not to lose her focus. Moon Dong Eun is naturally a kind soul but because of what she went she's dead inside. That's how I interpreted this scene. The part one which consist of episodes 1-8 was just an intro for her revenge, the story was a bit slower than part 2, explosion will happen on part 2.
