I don't know how the writing of DE was distributed so I can't give a proper opinion. Still I doubt the guy did all alone, but I'll reserve judgement. Now, this part about Kojima, this one I can talk with confidence, as someone who has been onto Metal Gear for the past 30 years: it is asinine and bothers me to no end this assumption the mainstream casuals and hardcore fans alike have that Kojima wrote metal gear alone. He didn't even wrote the codec conversations on Snake Eater... The guy sure have some good ideas, but without supervision he's retarded just like Harry: unhinged and confident on his own mental diarrhea. Worse still is how the objectively more closer to original lore and timeline title of the 8th generation got hated to no end (Survive) while the incoherent mess and waste of funds was painted as being konami's fault (The phantom pain) while the old man was given near unlimited freedom and resources only to pull out a wet fart that goes from nowhere to nowhere, retcon a billion things and only explain one minor event that happened between the MSX games that no one even remembered it happened (Big Boss Survive the first metal gear). The best thing that can happen is metal gear without Kojima: hence we're getting delta now (which again, is being produced by the guy who wrote it - Kojima only "directed" it)
I feel the peak counterpoint is Metal Gear Rising. Kojima did work on it in the earliest stages, but the main team completely abandoned the project to PlatinumGames, and the results speak for themselves. It may not be in the same style at all as the rest of the series, but you could ask for no better spinoff.
If anyone can make something similar to DE its Kurvitz. Guy worked on elysium years before there were any plans on making a game, i hope Helen Hindpere will join him in his future endeavors, here being on of the lead writers and all. It would be great if most of the old team would get together but realistically two of them and some other leads is going to be the best scenario i think.
I'm starting to feel the same about them and about Dark Math as well. In an interview with the41stprecinct yesterday Martin Luiga said that Argo was working with Dark Math but left when Kender didn't pay him.
