@@lstaceyt No, they do get a point. However, the good thing about Fossil/Old Amber compared to a basic is that you can discard it for free at any point during your turn and your opponent won't get a point for it. At 22:43, you should've sent out the Kangaskhan instead of the Haunter, since the Pickachu can't 1-shot it. You can then put a second energy on the Kangaskhan and use your X-speed to retreat it afterwards. Edit: Unless he just happens to have Giovanni, that is. That's a calculated gamble I'd be willing to take. Edit 2: Since you got lucky in drawing the Gengar right away here, your opponent wouldn't have been able to play Giovanni anyway.
I run a very similar deck with Meowth instead of Kanga for the draw power and consistency to get into Gengar a bit faster, and I'm loving it. Gengar was the first rare I pulled, and it is so much fun to play.
Gengar is my favourite and I build many decks around him, it’s the most fun to make him work because it’s not the most consistent, but there are actually many ways, like weezing, hypno, meowth, actual Aerodactyl or like here khangaskan. I do think double Sabrina feels mandatory for gengar to use the first to stall 1 turn and then the second to get an easy kill, because gengar damage is not the best. I also use triple gengar and I call the standard gengar the emergency Gengar (plan B)
The first part of the video promotes the deck as crazy good but the next part is basically winning with deck Sabrinas with opponent incredible bad luck. Creative deck though, at least those who drew Gengars instead of Mewtwos have something decent to play

I've also been liking Gengar...instead of Kangaskhan, which I understand why you're playing it (a lot of HP for a single point Basic + single energy for potentially a lot of damage) but I've actually been playing the deck with Psyduck instead and just play Supporter lockdown
@Xatumi it's not as powerful, but going second, locking decks out of using Professor Research or Articuno from using Misty, it's been funny Had two games where players scooped turn two, I assume they just didn't want to deal with that...but I do like the idea of Kangaskhan!!
Hope they add super ball or ways to get access to 1st/2nd stage evos. Was playing Kabutops-Machamp today to force Machamp on curve but briks do happen. They should probably change EX pokemon being considered a basic mon so you dont get an Articuno from a pokeball or the initial/guaranteed draw.
2 heads for 2 turns in a row has a 6.25% chance of happening, topdecking a card in a deck with 10 cards remaining has a 10% chance (20% if you have both Sabrina in the deck), enemy not having a Charmeleon after drawing more than half of his deck has a even lower %. If you have that RNG in your favor just play Marowak EX and go 100-0, there is a reason these decks are bad, what you need to happen for you to win doesn't usually happen. Appreciate the creativity though and I hope other less consistent decks will eventually receive good support/enabler cards to make them work.

Gen 2 did introduce tool items for your pokemon so I feel like berries 🍒 will help your active pokemon stay strong like for example give it 10 extra hp. Maybe like muscle 💪 band will do 10 extra damage with a cost like fighting type pokemon only. New supports such gen 2 which is really my favourite :) New pokeballs which I mentioned a few days ago in my theory on your channel. The game will get better over time, I think we all wanted Pocket and its been very fun for me 😄 I feel like they should allow the 1st player to put an energy only on the bench something like that. I remember fossil items were used in tcg back in the day for extra slot 🦴 it was certain competitive decks like 1998-2000s.
After watching my opponent fill their bench with nothing but EX Pokémon by the second turn. Just change all basic stage EX Pokémon to stage 1 Pokémon and require them to be evolved from their basic counterparts. So in order to play a Pikachu EX, you need to evolve it from a basic Pikachu. Trainer cards I would like to see: 1) Energy Removal - Discard 1 energy from one of your opponent's Pokémon. 2) Defender - Damage taken is reduced by 20 damage. 3) Mr. Fuji - Choose a Pokémon on your bench and shuffle it and all cards attached to it back into your deck.
Ditto deck is interesting, I've tried putting it inside a Dnite weezing variant with the idea of stalling to get the necessary energy and also get a switch using koga after poisoning and weakening, with it having three potential energy because of dnite..
@@sharksguai5265That could actually work but it's just the fact that you need to have the same color and amount of energy as needed to the copied skill. Playing 2 sabrina could be good to stall, people gust up random pokemon to set opponents back a turn or a crucial energy, i personally would play this along with fossils to pivot or stall.

to sort out how much better second is. they should make it so noone can attack on their first turn rather than just turn 1. going second you ramp the energy, cant evolve and cant attack. then player 1 works as normal. this way it flattens the damage a bit. Player one gets their first attack on one energy but attacks first player two gets their first attack on two energy. this would stop unfair starmie wipes if you gave P1 energy but also stops player two having a hp and energy advantage baked into the game
@@Xatumi That's true, but via experimenting, in an early game I'm glad to have it over Kangaskhan. There were times I had multiple Gengar in my hand and no Gastly to get any out. Usually, the opponent will bring out a Pokemon that is strong enough to knock out either Meowth or Kangaskhan anyway, and I had a situation where I didn't have enough energy to retreat Kangaskhan. Try it out if you can. I'd love to know what you think!
@@Xatumi Oh, I also swapped out the regular Gengar for Persian. This so far has been working out great. I'd say to try swapping out 2x Kangashan and 1x Gengar for 2x Meowth and 1x Persian if anything to simply try it out.
Oh look a cool video on an interesting deck that’s not just pikachu ex or gardevoir plus mew2. Oh wait. It needs THREE GENGARS. *cries in my single gengar ex*
can you explain the rationale for not playing the Gasly at 08:21? All I can think of is not to get Sabrinaed but it's prob not getting one-shotted and you can just call it back next round, rather you lose a round of evolve
I like to try to play my first Sabrina early, make them waste their first energy spent after getting it- effectively ensuring my lead is a whole turn ahead in energy. More times than not, to switch that pokemon back in, the current Sabrina pokemon would need to attach at least 1 energy to swap back out. And even if they decide to keep it in, it's still only one energy it has equipped instead of the two. Second Sabrina is end game.
This almost destroyed my mewtwo ex deck with two garderviors on my bench.. it was weird cuz I saw old amber come into play when I played Sabrina and I’m like … wtf? 😅
Tbf a second stage evolution is a lot of setup so its still preferable to luck based misty or cheese damage pikachu ex You kids dont remember control. You werent there for when wotc mistranslated the original slowking i think they did it on purpose considering they couldve errattad it
15:00 "And maybe change EX Pokémon" I wonder if your opinion is like mine. In the paper game, knocking out an EX grants 2 prizes, which when drawing cards is a huge gas swing. Also, 2 prizes out of 4 or 6 is a big deal. But 2 points out of 3 is way too little punishment. When you lose two EX mons, it's identical to losing one EX and a non-EX. It's like having 4 points available. Especially since you can give up 2 points and then use your EX. There's basically almost no drawback to using an EX compared to paper. Not to mention weakness change (+20 vs x2) is kinda nuts for raw damage numbers and high HP pools.
The deck is ok. Coming from other card games, every deck in this game feels inconsistent in some way just due to the luck factor. Some card games are really good though. But For example, this deck completed to Tera Charizard in ptcgl. It's just too inconsistent. I'm waiting until the new pack of cards come out, hopefully faster decks and more consistent cards come out
Another op deck is the Mew Two and Gardevoir deck if you can get 2 gardevoirs in to feed mew two he can attack 150dmg every turn Another one is water deck with Articuno and Misty
i runn a similair deck except instead of kanghaskhan old amber and gengar i run the gardevoir line to pump energy up fast been doing pretty good in versus event with 18 match wins
Your deck shows you have normal Gengar but I think I havent seen even once on those games 😂 It sucks for me because I'm still missing 1 gengar ex and kangaskan to have a good deck
i didn't put all games into the video, or else it would have been liek an hour plus lol but it definitely helps if thats teh first and only gengar i pull.
The only thing confusing me is why 3 gengars? You won two games because you happened to have a sabrina in hand, why not 2 sabrinas and 2 gengars instead?
Gengar Ex is always the best option, but the normal gengar is faster with his energy cost, you use him when the opponent is rushing too much and you need to slow him down
So the whole purpose of this deck is essentially the old amber acts as a free retreat if they dont kill it? It seems super niche, Cus 9/10 they can kill the fossil, and if they dont then yeah it works, but wouldnt just having a weezing stall be better? good chip damage and higher hp.
I see thats its also an item, so you wont get screwed by it. Like a basic pokemon, farfetched, koffing, etc. could clog your hand? does it merit it though?
Bro... I've been using this deck for a few days now because gengar has my fav arts in the game and I think his ability is op i was determined to make him work even though most people were saying it is the weakest ex pokemon. Nice video..... Even though you've exposed my secret😂😅
Do people not realize once Gangar EX is out, benched even, the ability is active You can use abilities on the bench It's why I'll run a butterfree in a deck with no grass energy
Gengar ex’s ability starts with “As long as this Pokemon is in the active spot…” it doesn’t work from the bench. Only abilities that don’t have that clause work from the bench.
people dont realize the power of fossil. more consistent poke ball pull, no retreat cost (discard), anti-sabrina. love it
Getting the fossil into the active off of x speed turn 1 can be so clutch.

Could this shell also work for alakazam? Really wanna make ala work in a deck
I got a giant Gengar Squishmallow this deck will fit my profile so well
Two cards that's underrated rn is Fossil tech and Eevee tech. I cannot believe how many times I caught people off guard by those tech's final stages.
What is Eevee tech?
@@myhairismessy3363 use Eevee & its evol as lead/alternate wincon.
I personally use Vaporeon/Jolteon Dragonite, and Flareon on custom Blaine deck.
Replying to see the eevee tech as well
@@myhairismessy3363 I used Vaporeon/Jolteon on Dragonite deck and Flareon on customed Blaine deck
Basically put vaporeon on water deck or jolteon on electric deck
Petition to call this deck Gengaskhan (Gengar + Kangaskhan = Genghis Khan 😂)
Oh look a cool video on an interesting deck that’s not just pikachu ex or gardevoir plus mew2.
Oh wait. It needs THREE GENGARS. *cries in my single gengar ex*
Did you spend money to get this gengar’s ex alternative cards ?
ghost is a good type right now, I never saw people playing dark deck
I had a feeling those fossils could be used without their evolution
I don't have normal Gengar and I don't have points for buying it.
What else can I use instead of him?
can you explain the rationale for not playing the Gasly at 08:21? All I can think of is not to get Sabrinaed but it's prob not getting one-shotted and you can just call it back next round, rather you lose a round of evolve
Well I can say Dragonite kinda turning fossil against its owner.
respect for using pmd music
I dont really see that much value in Giovani in gengar decks, is it just for weezing?
I use the version with Pidgeot, (it's pretty bad but it's fun) for example against Mewtwo decks I use it against Gardevoir which has 110 HP
That's koga, geovani is +10 damage
@@friendlynightshade5192 What i mean is Gengar with Giovani's +10 can kill weezing in 1 hit.
@robertsiudak8507 ahh that makes sense! Sorry I misunderstood. :D
I realize that's not the go to strat for certain builds, but the pikachu ex deck is almost guarantees the win
I'm simping for that Sabrina card
What camera do you use for your face cam?
Sony a6100
i believe meow would be good because of his ability to get a card from the deck
Haunter is and always has been, so much cooler than Gengar!
This almost destroyed my mewtwo ex deck with two garderviors on my bench.. it was weird cuz I saw old amber come into play when I played Sabrina and I’m like … wtf? 😅
You didnt have to discard amber at 6:30. You already had gengar out so they cant use sabrina to do the swap?
What if I don’t have the kangaskhan, any replacement?
Damn, the RNG in that Moltres/Charmander battle was cruel to both of you!
Tbf a second stage evolution is a lot of setup so its still preferable to luck based misty or cheese damage pikachu ex
You kids dont remember control. You werent there for when wotc mistranslated the original slowking i think they did it on purpose considering they couldve errattad it
this deck is just crossing your fingers until gengar comes out
you could say that for literally every deck in every card game lol
Do they have a system in the game where you can scrap cards to craft more cards or anything like that yet
Yes and no. U use pack points for new cards and u scrap old cards for flair card cosmetics
@ well that sucks
That's a insane luck in this match 13:25.
luck is a skill
15:00 "And maybe change EX Pokémon"
I wonder if your opinion is like mine.
I was using jynx and mr mime with my gengar deck and was doing pretty good
The deck is ok. Coming from other card games, every deck in this game feels inconsistent in some way just due to the luck factor.
Some card games are really good though. But For example, this deck completed to Tera Charizard in ptcgl. It's just too inconsistent. I'm waiting until the new pack of cards come out, hopefully faster decks and more consistent cards come out
Would love to play gengar but only have 1 ex. This is nice
Another op deck is the Mew Two and Gardevoir deck if you can get 2 gardevoirs in to feed mew two he can attack 150dmg every turn
Another one is water deck with Articuno and Misty
Sorry you only need one gardevoir but if you put two in , the evolution chances on evolving it is higher
A jynx for those big energy hitters....
Would Mr Mime be a decent replacement for kangaskhan
20 less hp and 1 more energy needed but its reducing 20 damage makes up for the hp lack. But still 2 energy for an atk is rough when ur running gengar
if this deck runs into a single weezing arbok deck it cries and dies LOL
I need another ghastly and haunter card then I can build this absolute unit
By the time Gengar is on the field all the supporter cards have been played out anyway…
i runn a similair deck except instead of kanghaskhan old amber and gengar i run the gardevoir line to pump energy up fast been doing pretty good in versus event with 18 match wins
Your deck shows you have normal Gengar but I think I havent seen even once on those games 😂
It sucks for me because I'm still missing 1 gengar ex and kangaskan to have a good deck
i didn't put all games into the video, or else it would have been liek an hour plus lol but it definitely helps if thats teh first and only gengar i pull.
2 Sabrina's is definitely better than having 1
Can you explain all fossil cards
Kangakhan replacement?
Bro... I've been using this deck for a few days now because gengar has my fav arts in the game and I think his ability is op i was determined to make him work even though most people were saying it is the weakest ex pokemon. Nice video..... Even though you've exposed my secret😂😅
Weakest is an exaggeration, Arcanine is horrible and I believe that Wigglytuff is worse too!
@@MatheusVentiyeah i think people dont even know arcanine even exists
@ch4osneverffs I know because is the only 2 star I got on Packs until now! lol
Theres an arcanine deck?
I'm definitely playing this deck!
how do you get the gardevoir card backside?
gold shop
Do people not realize once Gangar EX is out, benched even, the ability is active
You can use abilities on the bench
It's why I'll run a butterfree in a deck with no grass energy
Gengar ex’s ability starts with “As long as this Pokemon is in the active spot…” it doesn’t work from the bench. Only abilities that don’t have that clause work from the bench.
