I also just built a new PC and when I was installing windows 11, the installation stalled because it didn’t have a LAN driver for the Ethernet. I took the install USB I was using, made a folder for drivers and dropped it in there. Once I get the install rolling again and it asked for the driver, just had to take it to the driver folder and it all went well. This might be a common thing for people who are doing fresh windows 11 installs on new hardware.
The CPU is almost 3 years old (launched in January 2022), CPU architecture is two generations behind (you tested Zen3+), and the integrated GPU is very slow that’s why the computer was inexpensive. Modern AMD chips are substantially better. For laptops or custom computers like this, Ryzen 7 7840H is much better. Ryzen 7 8700G is the same chip for AM5 socket, you can build a small computer using some Mini-ITX motherboard. Both are 1 generation behind but that’s not too bad because difference between Zen4 and Zen 5 is not that large, and the integrated GPU is actually great in these two.
It's always cheaper and probably more efficient when you build your own PC. However, for the vast majority who want a readymade PC, this is a good option. I appreciate your input and valuable information.
I just bought a GMKTec K8 plus for about the same price you paid for this. It has a much faster CPU and an orders of magnitude better integrated graphics with the 780M. And the fan is whisper quiet. It also came with a 1TB SSD and 32GB of DDR5 RAM included for that price. and it has occulink. This GM doesn’t seem like a good deal at all for that price IMO.
I'd consider this for containers and virtualization. As a computer professional, the throughput on this device is enough to run some basic servers / services. For a desktop, I'd look for something with better graphics capability - not gaming graphics, but hardware transcoding for video codecs.
I've already repaired two of this machines. They are awesome btw. (Use good power supply and u will be ok) They are faster than a R7 5700X desktop CPU.
@@RandomTeq Nothing special, the first one was a mosfet in the charger section (doesnt have battery but is a notebook anyways). And the second one was bios corrupt. The quality of the components looked good. The dissipation is appropriate, and it is a good idea that it uses liquid metal to cool that little monster.
It's free shipping for most parts of the world. If you're in the US, there will be no customs duty since the item is below 800 USD in value. A lot of the Amazon sellers source their goods from China and resell it at high mark up, I left links for both platforms, consider your circumstances, and make your decision accordingly. Thanks for your comment.

That reminded me of the early days of Windows 11. People had tons of issues with missing files and drives, resulting in failed installations.

The price I stated was without any form of discount or promotion, you're likely to get it for a lot less.

Thank you, Evan. I appreciate your input 🙏

Is there any particular component that tends to fail?

True, the CPU is old but that's why the price is low. For most people this machine is more than enough
Agree!
I can only say that buying a similar PC from Amazon will cost you same money especially considering shipping cost from China.
