I was 70s kid now 58, i missed out on so much. But i watched some of 40s n 50s retro with parents especially influenced by my dad. He left school around 54. ❤❤❤❤
The genuine affection Martin and Lewis has for each other, for performing together, in their early days was so evident in these clips. Being in front of an audience together with the script an afterthought brought out the best in both of them. 💯
It's so infectious to see entertainers who are unable to stop laughing, and seem motivated to make each other laugh as much as the audience. Really heart warming.

I to was born in 65 and I watched tv constantly my favorite was reruns of course Gillian’s Island and when Kolchek:Night Stalker but my favorite was Jerry Lewis! I would stay up watch all his telethons and Deans celebrity roasts.
If you pay very close attention, Dean never acted drunk when he was partners with Jerry. After he split with Jerry, he needed a new image; and that's when the cigarette 🚬 and the booze came into the act. Though it was apple 🍎 juice in his glass even his enemies would say that.
You re right! And so much so that Jerry was convinced that laughing is a medicament for restoring good health! In France, it does exist, it s called "le rire medecin", for helping hospitalized people, especially kids, to forget illness and pain for a moment of joy. Merci Jerry and Dino!
Yes... they performed 7-8x per day and built up so much spontaneity and adlibbing and camraderie and improvisation. Beautiful and brilliant and heartfelt!
