I have been watching all of your videos. Amazing. I am being forced to medically retired because of health reasons and my wife of 30 years asked for a divorce. I lost my marriage, my career, and my health all in a span of 7 months. I was pretty down to say the least. Some how, I came upon your channel....maybe it was fate. I didn't know what I was going to do for the first time in my life. All of my original plans included my wife and a very physically active lifestyle for retirement. Now I am forced to rethink everything. I am a retired Army officer and a former Navy diver so adapting to my new life has been very difficult. I am not able to just put my head down and push through stuff any longer. I am going to embrace the freedom and time I still have left. I have started selling off all of my assets. My son will be in college next year so I will sell my house then and start looking for a boat. For the first time in a while, I am excited about something. Your videos made it possible for me to see a future. Thank you.
Hey Kevin my Cuz such a great guy wishing him all the best after Hurricane Dorian and the rebuilding ans restoration of thier home and the entire Green Turtle cay community
Happy to get latest news on your travel, and as always, looking forward to your next videos. Safe travel. We've been getting lots of rain in the north so take your time heading towards the 1000 islands.
Bout time Sheldon and Cindi! Good to see another video. We are on our way to St. Thomas in 40 days and married on the beach in 47 days. Counting down to the day we get a Tolly and cruise away. Still another three years till my youngest son graduates high school and goes off to college. We are ready. Still love the Tolly. Hope you got things sorted out with the 3208. Y'all still liking the boat?
Hi Bret & Talyn! We know, we know, we suck at the frequency thing. Other important things take our time sometimes. Each video we determine to get it out quickly, but alas, we fail hard. :) You guys must be so excited! We really wish you the best on this special trip. Post a vid or 2 on your trip. Yes, we love the boat. We can't imagine anything in our price range that would have been better. Love those 3208s. Cheers my friend, see you on the water!
Welcome back with your videos, I was wondering how did you find the new snorkel mask? How thank how buying them but I read comments that you can not dive deep with them. Your input would appreciated. Merci
Hi Richard, nice to hear from you. If we are honest about these new full face masks, we have to say that diving and fogging are problems. If you go below 5 feet, the pressure pushes the seal around your face and lets water in. This may not happen with other face types. Fogging for all of us was a problem and even with anti-fog solution we found we were applying it constantly. If you are a surface snorkeler then these will be fine, if you want to dive at all, we recommend getting a traditional high quality snorkel and mask.
Thanks! Yes we love Green Turtle Cay. We are heartbroken over it since Dorian. We understand about the music, but some people like it. Most times the natural sounds are just harsh wind noise, so cheap music is slightly better than that. lol Cheers, and thanks for watching!
Negative on the restaurants. Eating out is just as expensive. In the Abacos, the cheapest you can get is going to Marsh Harbour where the groceries are slightly less expensive. The Bahamas are worth it though. If you are a cruiser coming from Florida, stocking up in Costco or similar before you cross pays off big time.
We were in Fort Lauderdale not too long ago. Now we're on Florida's West coast, but lately we've been pondering a Bahamas trip. Maybe we'll see you guys out there on the water one day soon. Love the vids!
Yes, groceries are very expensive; about three times as expensive as upstate NY. Somewhat more of a problem is the limited selection. Maxwell's, the large grocery store in Marsh Harbour, is a very good place to shop. At least one of the grocery stores on GTC buys their groceries there and then, reasonably enough, changes the price on them. The restaurants are comparable to those in NYC and do not seem unreasonable to us. Incidentally, there are four grocery stores, the three "major" ones (Lowe's, Sid's and Curry's) and the smaller one, Roberta's.
I caught enough yellow tail snappers and lobster and CONCH!!!!!!Omg i love that island!!

Wow! I can't believe how expensive the groceries are in the Bahamas. Is it more cost effective to eat in restaurants?

Globe's Mine, thanks! Meeting you on the water would be a pleasure!

Still a nice job :)
No bananas on a boat, it's bad luck.
We are not superstitious like that, but you may be on to something. Within the next 2-3 episodes we will really show you the curse of the Bahanas!
I thought that was just for fishing...I had no clue about that until I brought one onto the boat on a fishing trip and got screamed at!
Finally an update!!! :-) Looking forward to watching this!
Thanks! We hope you enjoy!
Why would bananas cost more in the bahamas than in the US? They are literally grown in the caribbean.
