What if you did rainbow bridge always active, and Ganon boss Key as 8 dungeon rewards? It would save time on the hovers, it could also be used to randomize the Ganon entrance
@@implord4197 oh of course. But it would involve baking randomizer logic and item shuffling into the OoT engine rather than relying on a program to randomize a ROM to load. It would be really cool in general though to see an OoT randomizer that’s just “plug and play” with no need to build a new ROM each time
i feel like the 3DS version of OoT-Rando is a bit more likely to give you an Ice Trap to start on...theres an option you can set to either start with a Dungeon Reward, an Advancement Item, or Nothing...Dungeon Rewards obviously mean Stones and Medallions, in 'exchange' for getting the Light Medallion for free; Nothing obviously means Nothing-- its the only choice where Link doesnt do the "ItemGet" animation upon loading in...Advancement Items are SUPPOSED to mean 'useful' things like Hookshot or StrengthUpgrade, but they CAN shuffle a Random Item if the seed happens to generate it, like "ammo" (even though you wont have the Bow/BombBag, so itd most likely be a 5-rupee), Skulltula Tokens, and yes, Ice Traps...especially if you set the IceTraps to anything higher than Normal...

Zelda's Letter and Weird Egg are both part of the child trading quest, so they share a slot in the inventory. The Egg turns into the Letter when you meet Zelda, it isn't really a different item. It's the same as the adult trading quest which is why Zfg will never get items like claim check and odd mushroom in the same Rando.
It's useful in the bottom of the well and the shadow temple, but you can just memorize where the illusions are so for people like zfg it's not really useful
Depends: if You turn double/quadruple damage on than it's a pretty great item in that context, Hero mode makes it so hearts don't drop so cutting any damage intake in half is always a plus for either of these settings. But vanilla OOT is very generous with HP so with default HP settings it isn't too hard to avoid dying if You are decent enough at the game. Fairy's fully restore HP and are easy to find on top of that. So yeah with normal HP settings it's not super useful if You're good at the game. But it's nice to have when You only got 3-9 hearts

This should be a speedrun, “The Fools Run” play OoT Randomizer max settings, no logic until you find an ice trap
Alternatively, Ganon BK rewarded only after getting all ice traps.

The egg stays in the pool, Talon is asleep outside the castle and you can't get Malons check at LonLon until you wake him up.
I think ZFG takes the free letter because its only purpose is opening DMT, but that gate is open already thanks to rando settings.

It reduces lag so makes it go faster, it can also help to line up some tricks or rather make sure you are lined up properly
