@2vintage I have a set of 2008 cases that have been vapor honed and had the wrist pin oil sprayer mod done to them as well as the crankshaft support plate holesndrilled and tapped $600 plus shipping for the cases I also have tons of other 06-14 700 parts

What fool could let this amazing ATV get to this kind of condition!? I have a '21 Raptor 700R-SE I pd $12k out the door. Amazing ATVs. Mine is cherished!

I loved my raptor 700. The a-arms are the same as yfz 450 in case you ever bend one like I did lol. The fuel injection is money. I had an 06, the first year for them. I had a power commander, full HMF exhaust and a pro design stage 2 billet intake and filter on mine. The only problem I ever had was the throttle position sensor went bad. The dealer fixed it under warranty and never had an issue after that.

The sad thing about raptors is they are such good machines but often bought by careless owners(not 2vintage), almost every one of ‘em you see is blown up the top or bottom end before the tred is even worn off of the factory tires

the flashing of the engine is a code from the bike. there are forums that tell you exactly how to decipher them but i’m pretty sure you count the number of long blinks then the short blinks and if you look at the form it should tell you one of the issues the bike is picking up.

I have an 07 700 that I bought new. It's probably got 10 hours on it. She still looks like new. I put Barker in frame dual exhaust, trinity intake, airbox mod, better fuel controller, re-geared.... she's been a fun machine. I rolled it at 83mph on a dry lake bed and there was ZERO damage to the quad, somehow..... me... not so much. Punctured lung, broken shoulder, broken collar bone, broken ribs
It's amazing that it still looks and runs like new.

Yes and easier to tune out the 400ex back together and build the 700 boosted lifestyle built a turbo 660 lawn mower so the 700 is probably not much different

Great find Joe. Raptor 700 in stock form is a great bike with plenty of power. Give it a good bath and that thing with come up looking really clean. Looks like it hasn't done many hours before it was left to rot outside. If you do find a good set of cases and get tearing into it and everything in the bottom end is still mint I suggest maybe a new set of rings and valve stem oil seals and that thing will last a long time. New set of tyres aswel and you will have plenty of fun on it

These are perfect for engine swaps, especially MT07, Z650 twins. I’m on the lookout for a Raptor in Australia but they are not that common here.
Have a look at the converted ATVs that the Europeans build for road use, just crazy.

Outstanding job troubleshooting the spark issue. I'm sure a lot of shops would have just started replacing a bunch of parts, vs tracing the wiring. Well done! Raptors are awesome and that one is in surprisingly good condition to be outside for so long. Enjoy.

Vasilybuilds, on youtube welds up giant size holes in cases you can weld that case no problem, find a good welder have it done. The 700s are awesome, one of the best platforms yamaha made. Only issue we had was it went through fuel faster than our carb quads, and ran out of fuel in the trail a few times when we first got it...

Put the turbo on this one, it has fuel injection so the only thing you would have to do is remap the fuel and spark but there are plug and play modules for that.

I like the look of this bike and the color combo. I was wondering if that crack could be TIG welded? Sometimes drilling a hole at each end of the crack can stop it from spreading. The price of a new case might make it worth looking into.

If you have cracks in the crankcase half, see about getting it heli-arced(TIG welded) back together, save some $$$! Good score despite the amount of work that may be needed. Start searching for a set of cases for that ATV, or another engine.
