I owned a 78 Bonneville. It was a good bike as long as you kept up the maintenance. I never liked the geared Morgo pumps either. I am working on my Laverda project again. Its going to be a monster.
brave man to work in this cold weather hahaaha I brought the heater to the garage and closed the door, only way I could do it and still I was cold lol, good stuff mate!
That could be a Tony Hayward belt conversion. Or I might be thinking of someone else who made and sold the belt conversion and outer clutch basket... but no longer makes them.
Looks like he spent some money on that bike, I bet it's going to run really strong. Can't wait to hear it running!

Cool to be able to watch you at work. Great job. Hopefully she's back on the road soon!
the clutch is certainly american made. so are the rods. what I would "fear" is that crank. it looks like a swiss chease. :)
The clutch could be made by MAP.

How can you tell by looking at the rods that the bike ran out of oil at some point?
@@daveco1270 yes, at the shells of the connecting rod can you see it , and I could felt that ones I took the cilinder out:)
