Bro, I just wanted to see the interior to try and visually size it but you had me captivated with the way you explained everything. very clear, very concise and thorough.
I own WENZA LE and have driven more than 12,000 miles. It feels more comfortable and quieter than RAV4. The average fuel consumption is 41.5MPG. I am very satisfied.Thank you for your evaluation and gave me a very important purchase reference!
I get that a lot of reviewers don’t like the touch sensitive controls and lack of radio volume and tuning knobs, but in my Camry I literally never use the knobs. I use the steering wheel buttons. It definitely would not be a dealbreaker.
Test drove the Harrier here in Japan, gasoline FWD model. It was excellent. Very comfortable, very nice to handle, and as said in the review, it doesn't feel like a big car. Which was great.
Definitely not gonna buy this one. But I love watching your reviews without any reason. They're so much informative, the words seems so much genuine & I never notice how the 20, 30 & even 40 minutes have been passed ; I just keep watching & waching 😄 Keep up the good work. Love from Bangladesh.
Thank you Sofyan for a two great reviews on the 2021 Toyota venza tgis one and the other one where you compare it with the lexus 300h . Both of your reviews reviews on the toyota venza made my choice to get one alot easier . I got the blueprint one in the limited trim . And I absolutely love everything about it . I will have to say you are one of the best car reviewers out there and Redline is very lucky to have you . I truly enjoy all your reviews on all the cars you do not just the venza . When it comes to reviewers you are very informative and very knowledgeable with all the vehicles. I hope that sounded OK.
Just purchased the 2021 Venza with 54k miles on it. Decided to jump on the hybrid hype to see if it's what the reviewers rave about are true. Still going through my first tank of gas and I commute 90 miles each way to work. Then have a little errands to do around town for the wife. Im terms of comfort and raod behavior it's a ten. Beautiful ride for long commutes as it just soaks up the bumps and road imperfections. Steering is tight without a lot kf movement within the lane. Doesn't wander while cruising with the lane assist and semi autonomous driving mode. Around town it's loose and easy to steer. Brakes are fine. Easy enough to learn. I'll report back with the final mpg when my half a tank runs dry.
I'm back. Went through two tanks of gas already and this last one came out to 42 mpg on ECO mode. Fulled up at Costco 9 gallons to the tune of $35 and some change total miles was 380. Got me wondering about it's discontinuation and why. I see the Chevy Equinox, Ford Escape and other smaller suv out and maybe part of the reason Toyota wanted to go with the Crown was to differentiate itself styling wise from thst crowded vehicle market? Also maybe it was nipping at the NX heels. But Lexus has a habit of stealing everything from Toyota and make it more posh leaving nothing else for Toyota except the Highlander and Rav4. Even there Lexus has cannibalized Toyota. Toyota needs something other than two suv's without Lexus stealing from them.
I think it looks like a nice crossover. It seems like Toyota has embraced its partnerships- does anyone else seem some Mazda design language? If the nose was just a little flatter I would swear it is an updated Mazda. Tail end is also Mazda-esqe. Looks great!
I've had the 2022 Venza XLE for 2 months now and I'm loving it. On my shortlist, I had Venza, Rav4 Hybrid, Tucson Hybrid and CX-5. I ultimately went with the Venza partly due to immediate availability compared to Rav4 Hybrid. Great MPG, pretty good acceleration, quite comfortable. The only gripe I have is with interior storage, not plenty of it. The price is a bit high, but I definitely think it's worth it. No buyers remorse
How’s the road noise in there? I heard one review that said there was some road noise in it. I haven’t heard that complaint a lot, but it was from a pretty good reviewer.
If you get the LE and the XLE with the smaller 8 inch screen. You will get more hard buttons and knobs for the radio and for the air and heat and fan controls.
Surprised Sofyan didn't mention that. Not only confirmed less cargo space then RAV4 but smaller leg and headroom too. Lastly Venza has no tow rating whatsoever. Big disappointments, otherwise an excellent vehicle.
@@James-il3tq That's the main distinction between this and the Rav4, Toyota is trying to make that model more rugged and capable, and this is more of a comfortable cruiser, this is also smaller, and helps fill the gap between the C-HR and the Rav4.
Everyone should wait for the next version of this. They'll add stuff like fog lights and knobs in their climate control. You can tell they plan to add these features bc the fog lights placement for example are there but there's no lights they need a reason for you to buy their latest model
The fog light cutouts are there because they’re offered on the Toyota Harrier. They just didn’t bring them to the US, for what reason I do not know. But who really uses fog lights? I’ve never had a car with fog lights and have never wished I had them.
@@evandanielsson1347 Depends on where you live, if you live in a more urban area or city you don't need fog lights, but people living in higher altitudes as well as country side are more likely to need fog lights
What they need to add is towing capability. The RAV4 Hybrid is officially rated to tow about 1,800 pounds, and the Highlander Hybrid can tow 3,500 pounds. Why didn't Toyota rate this Venza to tow? What good is a crossover/SUV if it can't pull anything?
Selling my 2018 Highlander Platinum for this seriously can't wait to order one in Ruby Flare Pearl. I'm honestly shocked at how cheap it was I was expecting a fully loaded limited to be closer to 47.
It's a Toyota, it's an SUV, and it's a hybrid, so it'll most likely sell for above MSRP and that's if you can find one without putting a deposit in for a months-long waitlist. In my area, the lowest finance rate on the RAV4 Hybrid rn is 4.99%, no cash incentives and an overall lack of inventory. I test-drove a Lexus 300h hybrid a year ago. Once I hit the road, it was so silent, UNTIL I hit the gas pedal, and then the engine ROARED into life with nauseating noise. I got so turned off. SO: when I am in the market for a new car in 2021 (likely a 2022 model) it will be an EV and NOT A HYBRID. We own a 2018 Tesla Model 3, and it takes off like a rocket in dead silence..incredible! At age 70 I am delighted to have driven such an EV in my lifetime! :) Oh, and FYI: a leading Auto Lease company is advising against buying a Plug-In Hybrid as they are *not* as economical as they claim. Regarding the "lack" of a tach, you might find it on the options in the "multi-informational display" (MID). I got an Avalon Hybrid a few months ago, and I'm still playing with all the controls. There's a tach there after all.
Overall nice update. I personally don't like the way many manufacturers are making thin strip brake lights. I want people behind me to see my brake lights. Needless to say those turn signals are way out of place. Don't like placement at all.
The HRV still uses the R18 from the Civic 15 years ago. Doesn't make sense that the HRV came out when Honda just started offering the K20 and turbo L15 in the Civics.
I've just test drove one. PRO: - I like the exterior. - Great acceleration 0-30mph CON: - The regenerative braking kicked in when I wanted to coast felt like I suddenly hit the brakes making them feel grabby - Hate the noisy engine under acceleration - Lacks power above 30mph+ - noisy CVT under acceleration (rpm revs high) - CVT requires more frequent maintenance and doesn't last as long - panormaic glass roof does not open

Lovely design but here are some concerns. 1. It's larger than a RAV4 but has less cargo room than on the inside. Three inches shorter than the old Venza. It's billed as being bigger than the RAV4 but smaller than the Highlander. They should increase the wheelbase to give more backseat/ cargo room. 2. Less headroom than a RAV4, and even less with the sunroof. Make it taller. 3. Would prefer a moonroof (opens to the elements) than a sunroof with the glass that frosts on/ off. The frosting would be cooler if it darkened, rather than just frosted. Combine a moonroof with darkened frosting and you have a winner. 4. Lower the infotainment system and integrate it into the dashboard instead of the stuck-on tablet style. 5. No volume knob on the larger 12.3” screen. Huge mistake, just ask Honda. 6. Shiny black plastic is just a fingerprint magnet. Use something else that won't show prints and get easily scratched up. 7. The rear turn signal lights are integrated into the bumper and are **too** low. 8. Offer it as a plug-in hybrid. Supposedly, they were waiting to see how the RAV4 Prime would sell and it's poised to be hugely successful as a PHEV. 9. Don't like the touch-sensitive controls in the dashboard. 10. Climate controls change the temperature 1 degree each time you press, unless you press and hold. Use knobs instead; they're faster. 11. With tax, it would be close to $60K in Canada.
@@bbtubi 🤣🤣🤣 American manufacturing is crap. 6 months into owning my 2020 RAV4 and I get a recall saying that my engine block may have been poorly machined and that it could stall and catch on fire while driving. Thankfully it wasn't affected. Thank you Woodstock Ontario for doing it right 👍🏻
Thanks for the review, Sofyan! I briefly owned a 2009 Venza and was sad to see the model leave the lineup several years back. I'm definitely going to give the new model a look. Any idea about when Toyota will make it available for build and pricing on their site? It currently is listed as just an "upcoming" model.

Hey Sofyan are you doing a review on the white 2020 Sentra SR you posted on ista? I'd love to see another review even though you have one but that was on a media trip. You also got a TON of likes on those posts so people are interested in it.
this might be perfect for me...I wonder about headroom/legroom I'm 6'7" and literally can't fit in a RAV4 without ducking....but I love the fuel economy and I wouldn't want something super huge anyway...the only problem now is that it's 40k above my budget, lol
I have the 2021 venza limited and luv it. However i noticed u test drive on a very smooth road and this car makes a horrible noise that has to do with the traction, sounds like the engine is falling out!!! Would like to see that issue addressed.
It's not bad to go Hybrid only especially with Toyota's experience. It seems to add to the overall refinement. You are correct, it does make you question, why go up to a Lexus?
It does NOT make you question why to go to Lexus. Go take a seat in a Lexus ES and Lexus LS500 or even the LC500 V8 coupe . There is No question why to go to Lexus.
@@Toyota4Life Have you driven a new Venza yet? If it's significantly cheaper than the comparable Lexus while delivering almost as many features and luxury, it may be a better Bang-for-the-Buck buy. (One reason TO buy the Lexus: if you want to tow something, the Venza is not rated to tow even a single pound.)
Toyota needs to add the Fog Lights to the holes in the lower fascia just like the Rav 4 and Highlander. Even the Corolla Hatchback comes with Fog Lights. Major disappointment since the Venza is touted to be the "Lexus Upgrade Version of the RAV 4. I'd like to buy a 2022 if they add the Fog Lights that should have been included on the 2021 model.
I've owned a 2009 Venza, loved it v6 20" wheels sexy looking vehicle, bought a 2015 absolutely loved it. Now i lease a 2018 Camry xse v6 even more fun, but for the great features it has shortcomings, like no heated steering wheel (canadian) infotain system a joke, no memory seats, Venza did, almost didn't buy the car on that one ( i"m big and seat retracts automatic) Has more than enough power, just doesn't sound like it. Don't even start on the TRD SE, not an XSE. not even close. Thinking about upgrading to Lexus, but they need to start upgrading and so i wait and see what's coming maybe next year a xse Venza maybe. In the mean time having blast driving my 2018 xse use the paddles all the time. Infotain system is being replaced with upgraded Android Auto, so maybe i'll just buy it out and install that fancy cat back exhaust. Then it will sound as fast as it is. The RAV4 is designed as a macho off-roader wannabe, so Toyota is very smart to offer a similarly sized car to appeal to the sophisticated buyer who prefers a more upscale look with high end features. I still hate that gaping maw of cheap black plastic up front, otherwise the styling is spot on. Thanks Sofyan.
Does the Venza have a 'real' first gear like on the Corolla? I drove a new rental Corolla for a week and put 1000 miles on it and ultimately was very satisfied with how it's CVT felt...once you get moving from stop, I didn't really care that the transmission is CVT since it found the power band quickly.
zalllon agreed. As nice as the new venza is I have to admit I’m disappointed because it has less interior and cargo space than the rav4. Styling is good though. It looks like a jaguar f pace from the back and I’m also looking for best commuter car so I’m definitely getting a venza limited
But this one looks just like 2013 toyota harrier.. not much different, if i recall harrier came out first than f pace
I love your video...thanks for giving us the first look and drive!
Overall nice update. I personally don't like the way many manufacturers are making thin strip brake lights. I want people behind me to see my brake lights. Needless to say those turn signals are way out of place. Don't like placement at all.
Honestly, it's not bad looking at all. Might trade in my HR-V...
Good choice
The HRV still uses the R18 from the Civic 15 years ago. Doesn't make sense that the HRV came out when Honda just started offering the K20 and turbo L15 in the Civics.
That would be a major upgrade
@@asdfghjqwertyu1858 it has been tried and true. No issues since 2015 👍
HR-Vex The engine did have issues with the engine block from 2006 to 2009 civics, but since then it was fixed and has no issues since.
That double sunroof though....WOOW!
Fake sunroof. Doesn’t move at all
I've just test drove one.
PRO:
- I like the exterior.
- Great acceleration 0-30mph
CON:
- The regenerative braking kicked in when I wanted to coast
felt like I suddenly hit the brakes
making them feel grabby
- Hate the noisy engine under acceleration
- Lacks power above 30mph+
- noisy CVT under acceleration (rpm revs high)
- CVT requires more frequent maintenance and doesn't last as
long
- panormaic glass roof does not open
You hit everything on the nail🙌🏾👌🏾
The transmission is an eCVT which really isn’t a transmission, and it’s been in use by Toyota for many years and they are very reliable.
I have the 2011 Venza. Love it...but I would love one of these too. Just too pricey for me.
Volume may be a touch loud here and there. Solid content. Thank you.
I'm sure his buddy is happy to hear that he has no trouble noticing the extra 6 inches.
When I first saw it, I said it was a glorified RAV 4. Thanks for confirming it.
Most claim it to be a thrifty NX350h. AT a $14k savings I agree. and the RAV4 is like driving a shipping container.
Is there a dashcam built into the rearview mirror like in the JDM?
Why did they delete the fog lights for the North American market?
Good questions. Especially the fog lights. What's up with that?
Most likely the fog light will be a $500 option. Heheh
Who ever uses them?
There is no fog here.
LOL, "Business Loan" call rejected at 4:24
It's a Toyota, it's an SUV, and it's a hybrid, so it'll most likely sell for above MSRP and that's if you can find one without putting a deposit in for a months-long waitlist. In my area, the lowest finance rate on the RAV4 Hybrid rn is 4.99%, no cash incentives and an overall lack of inventory. I wouldn't be surprised if the Limited models actually sell for 47k in the first few months.
Manufactured in Japan!? I like!!!!!
American quality is better
bb tubi 🤣🤣🤣🤭🤭
@@bbtubi
🤣🤣🤣
American manufacturing is crap. 6 months into owning my 2020 RAV4 and I get a recall saying that my engine block may have been poorly machined and that it could stall and catch on fire while driving. Thankfully it wasn't affected. Thank you Woodstock Ontario for doing it right 👍🏻
Scotty Kilmer approves if it's made in Japan 😂
@@bbtubi no. No it is not.
This looks amazing
Thanks for the review, Sofyan! I briefly owned a 2009 Venza and was sad to see the model leave the lineup several years back. I'm definitely going to give the new model a look. Any idea about when Toyota will make it available for build and pricing on their site? It currently is listed as just an "upcoming" model.
I like it! Can’t go wrong with Toyota.
It has a nice comfortable ride considering the large wheels.
Redline & Alex are in sync.
The only reason i will choose the all new NX over this is because, the lexus will have more horsepower, volume knob, and a slightly quality interior
He "barely feels the 6 inches behind him"
Lmao 😂 🤣
Bryan A lmfaoooo wow
I was going to say the same thing
He’s gay..get over the fact and start acting like an adult.
Jabbadahuttful the joke becomes even more relevant that Sofyan is gay, but it’s still a very immature joke... but nonetheless funny, and it’s not about making fun of Sofyan, I love the guy, it’s just a joke... so chill!
We pick up ours 3 days ago is a XLE trim and so far so good. We trade in a 2017 4Runner limited as we don’t need that bigger vehicle anymore and also we are shooting for those fuel savings the hybrid gives .
Hey Sofyan are you doing a review on the white 2020 Sentra SR you posted on ista? I'd love to see another review even though you have one but that was on a media trip. You also got a TON of likes on those posts so people are interested in it.
Yes! We just finished filming it today. Will probably go live next week or so! Stay tuned!
Redline Reviews Awesome sauce
Looking forward to it!😎
Venza is nice, but I'd only get the LE due to the better info interface
i know this is nit picking but i wish the pano sunroof would gently or slowly fade between tint or no tint. I feel that make it more premium
In Japan, you can buy a Harrier for starting from $27,900.
this might be perfect for me...I wonder about headroom/legroom I'm 6'7" and literally can't fit in a RAV4 without ducking....but I love the fuel economy and I wouldn't want something super huge anyway...the only problem now is that it's 40k above my budget, lol
I have the 2021 venza limited and luv it. However i noticed u test drive on a very smooth road and this car makes a horrible noise that has to do with the traction, sounds like the engine is falling out!!! Would like to see that issue addressed.
2:30 Damn that's a rich paint color up close.
@@Toyota4Life Agree, I have had 2 Lexi's and love them both. Interiors are first class, as it the dealer experience, warranty
and bragging rights.
Cuz it’s a lexus, that L logo is worth $5000, plus all the real leather and stuff
Nice review once again.
Stalker?
Toyota needs to add the Fog Lights to the holes in the lower fascia just like the Rav 4 and Highlander. Even the Corolla Hatchback comes with Fog Lights. Major disappointment since the Venza is touted to be the "Lexus Upgrade Version of the RAV 4. I'd like to buy a 2022 if they add the Fog Lights that should have been included on the 2021 model.
2022 Limited has fog lights.
Good video. Very informative.
Awesome ride on Toyota venza hybrid 😀👍🧡😀💚❤
toyota really stepping their game up this is nice.. too bad i just recently purchased a lexus i cant get this one ugh
Trade in
Another great video
Oh and by the way I'm sixty and never even notice Soyfan is gay, short yes, jealous of the ultimate job , you bet. Keep up the good reviews Soyfan.
Was very excited about the return of the Venza, until you mentioned that the V6 was gone! 😳
a deer ran out and crashed into my passenger side of my brand new camry on a road just like the one you were driving in the beginning of the vid. now i drive very slowly on treelined roads.
Nobody’s gonna be taking a RAV4 off roading
Does the Venza have a 'real' first gear like on the Corolla? I drove a new rental Corolla for a week and put 1000 miles on it and ultimately was very satisfied with how it's CVT felt...once you get moving from stop, I didn't really care that the transmission is CVT since it found the power band quickly.
"I barely feel the extra 6 inches ".......
Michael scott: "😐 that's what she said!!!🙂"
I came to the comments just to see if anyone else noticed that
Thanks for the review. English is my first language, but sometimes I have a hard time listening as fast as you're talking.
:)
Slow your ears down
I prefer the size of my 2016 Venza V6 Limited. I can fit several 10ft 2x4s with the hatch closed. Yes, it’s less refined, but the V6 is so smooth.
zalllon agreed. As nice as the new venza is I have to admit I’m disappointed because it has less interior and cargo space than the rav4. Styling is good though.
The old Toyota’s as most automotive journalists love to harshly criticize them for being boring, you really couldn’t beat the practicality and space it offered
A very nice vehicle.......only wish it was a little larger.
Ooh I want to test drive this.
The rear cargo lift over height is 4" taller than the RAV4!
Toyota needs a SE and XSE or Touring trim on the venza, give the battery more power and give it a sportyish suspension
Sport SUV is like an athlete training to a runner that runs with high heels.
Love this, but I’d hoped they’d have heated rear seats.
Why lol?
greetings friend excellent video I wanted to know the camera you have in the car what is the name of the brand I want to buy it I liked the 2 you had installed
Toyota Harrier has always been Toyota's premium product such as Crown or Alphard.
“I had trouble noticing those extra 6 inches” lmao 🤣 😂 what she said.
it's 2020, that's what he said as well
flashbang217 if that’s how you roll, more power to you!
I love my new 2021 Venza its way better than the older model. I think you are just too critical. It's perfect I have no complaints, its a Toyota they are #1 all the cars I own are all Toyotas.
It does NOT make you question why to go to Lexus. Go take a seat in a Lexus ES and Lexus LS500 or evening the coupe LC500. There is No question why to go to Lexus. This is very nice vehicle. I will easily take this over any of the other Japanese Competition let’s comparison with this car to Toyota and Lexus products and more comparison to his competition please.
The current Lexus SUV ALL need to be updated and replaced. still a great buy but due for a update
I like your sunglasses 😎
Any price updates for 🇨🇦 market?
