This is probably the only way to beat this boss on hard difficulty. No way without cheesing. But on the PC version, you have to do it from the right side. Even so, I couldn't beat the boss with this method because you need to hit it a million times with the maul. Sometimes, you won't get hit, and sometimes you will, even if you don't move and stay exactly in safespot. When i first played the game on normal difficulty, i had a weird bug where my ammo didn't appear in inventory, so I had to melee only this boss, and it was so easy I beat it in 15 minutes. But this difficulty... I just don't know who thought not to give the player any ammo/heal before a boss who has tons of hp was a good idea.
Doesn't work, plain and simple. I've even gone so far as to try it in PCSX2 with a save state and went to every possible sweetspot close to this one and still get hit. It is impossible to accomplish this technique
Sorry for the slow response, I positioned myself pretty close to the back of the arena just in front of the arm, and always aimed to be in line with the wrist/forearm. I don't know if repeatedly swinging the maul; even when Heather's out of breath helped, maybe with i-frames?
Apologies for getting back to you late. I always aimed to stand close to the invisible wall but in front of your arm and tried to align with the forearm/wrist. But also was constantly swinging with the maul (holding x again as soon as each swing connected) I don't know if constantly attacking helped by created i-frames.
I can't confirm if this was patched in the HD version on more modern consoles/PC, but other than being in that position, I'd always be holding the x butting to swing the maul. So the moment after I let go of X to swing it, I'm immediately holding it down again for the next charged up swing. But other than that apologies, I'm not sure what else to suggest.

You want to try getting to the boss with some ammo left, and could fight it with guns and then running or strafing to avoid the fire. But on hard it's very difficult to have enough ammo for that, so this glitch seems to really help (plus avoid the fire attack). If you can align yourself near the bosses forearm and then what I did was just keep pressing x button to swing so there's no pause between hits, or repeatedly press x before the attack animation is over (Heather will get tired). And that position + always pressing x to hit seemed to create some i-frames or invincibility 90% of the time. I wish you luck

@@Whotfisandyyy have you try to play Silent Hill HD Collection? After this gameplay I saw another one from a Channel called WeissNetwork TV and in this point he hit the boss with the same glitch.

I'm sorry to hear you couldn't get it to work, other than standing in that position and always having the X button pressed and held (constantly for each weapon swing - only letting go of X and re-pressing it after Heather starts the animation) I'm not sure what made it work. It should also work on PC as that was released in 2003, without this it's a ridiculously brutal boss to try and melee on hard
Funciona en la versión de xbox 360 en xbox one, lo acabo de intertar y es muy difícil pero muy difícil, se puede pero complicado, intentaré matar a la desgraciada con este método porque solo tengo 1 botiquín y estoy en dificil jaja

Have you tried always holding x other than the moment you release it to swing the maul at the boss? I'm not sure if this causes the i frames

Yeah this DOES NOT WORK on the HD collection.
It's possible it was patched in the HD version, I haven't played that version of the game.

it does and im pretty sure only on pc, plus use the katana , very powerful and its faster
