It's a balancing act where you're constantly trying to not seem too desperate/clingy/nice without coming across as a straight up asshole, and every girl you talk to prefers a different balance of those qualities. Also, on top of all that most women think they don't have to do anything to impress me so they just sit there, entitled, expecting me to entertain them and carry a conversation. I'd rather be alone the rest of my life than deal with that. If I find that diamond in the rough I'll happily enter a relationship, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen. All I can do is work on improving myself and chasing my dreams.

Im 27 and just gave up on trying to date, I was raised a gentleman and taught to walk up to a girl and spark conversation and go from there. Honestly anymore I have a mandatory phone call before I’ll even meet up with a woman and basically lay it all out there and it’s worked surprisingly well. “I’m a masculine man seeking a feminine woman”. That usually makes then ask, “well what does feminine mean to you?” and I’ll explain it. They’re either receptive or not and you cut through a lot of the bullshit. It’s a screening process that has made dating way less challenging for me because it sets the tone before you even actually meet. Try it sometime fellas!

There's no such thing as too nice or too kind. There IS such a thing as being too boring/dull/clingy/needy/"kissing-up" etc., BTW: theres also a diff btwn NICE & KIND. Nice: "Hey..good to hear from you. Sry about your flat tire. I hope you get that worked out" Kind: "I'll brt (or send someone) with tools to change your tire". Both are important. KIND is better. The typical ex will "dissapate" in a cpl/few months if you're the right one, your love interest wont even want the ex laying in wait anymore. If its a non-typical ex (eg: a friend since childhood & they just "gave it a try" at some point & laughed it off) then you should be able to trust your love interest. If not..move on. Everyone has flaws & baggage. Its a matter of what flaws suit you & vice-versa. If your shortcomings dont complement each other, you're simply not a good fit. Dont love bomb or start out in a way you cannot/will not sustain. Dont contin to date someone you cant see yourself married to- even if you're sure you never want to marry. Use it as a litmus test. We know within a pretty short time. Dont expect more, or better than what you, yourself, bring to the table.
What i resent about modern dating is that a lot of women can be attractive but boring if not downright unfriendly. Sometimes i feel like i need to see a chiropractor to get my spine reset after a first date because the girl just showed up expecting me to carry the ENTIRE interaction start to finish.

Get a room-mate. Share an apartment, split bills 50-50, get to know him/her, become best buddies, boom. No need for all the drama. Split tasks equally: laundry, cleaning, cooking, shopping. Life is so much easier when someone is not nagging you or giving you a timeline when to be and where to be.

I’ve been with the same guy for 20 years and I’m 41..Married him 10 years ago. Dating for me has always been a "friends to lovers" type beat. I could never be with someone I hadn't been talking to irl for a while already, and it's always been the "hey you're cool, I think I like you," "Oh hey I like you too, wanna go out?" Dating for me has always been a "friends to lovers" type beat. I could never be with someone I hadn't been talking to irl for a while already, and it's always been the "hey you're cool, I think I like you," "Oh hey I like you too, wanna go out?"
