      While funny, it is absolutely true. I am 28, got a daughter that is 9 now, and i am deathly scared that she will end up hooking up with people that act like i did when i was younger. Thankfully i think i know the manwhore tips and tricks, considering i was one for many years.

      @memecat I mean Modern women tend to go after boys who are raised only by a single parent, mostly a mother. So the men that most likely have never had a father figure, to begin with, and worse, they are never around men who will act like it to them so the cycle continues.
      My father is the kindest man I know, taught me how to shoot, how to have patience, and to be a kind human being. My mom tried to teach me to be a victim, to hurt those who hurt me, and to never fully trust a person even a friend (When they both separated). I don't hate my mother, but I noticed my sister was the same with her kids, my cousin was the same with her child and it's just something I noticed. We need both parents to make a decent human being, single parents make a monster 80% of the time.
      That or never have a country parent marry a city parent XD

    I raised three girls. I gave them permission to defend themselves, we talked about the facts of life early and often. My girls could come to me for anything, even if they thought it would be embarrassing. I taught them to respect their sense of self-worth and to never give any part of themselves away to anyone who didn't deserve it. I have three well balanced and independent daughters who make me proud every day.

    • @amandachilds5290
      @amandachilds5290 ปีที่แล้ว +209

      Yes but he got one thing wrong, partly. You show your daughters you love them because if you just say it then when someone else says it they will believe it, too. If you SHOW them and say it then when the person only says it and doesn't show it, they will discern the truth and not waste their time on lip service. Too many parents get this wrong and then wonder why their kids end up with classical and covert narcissists and other BS, user types. The answer is they fell for it because it was familiar, their childhood idea of love that their parent.or parents portrayed.. Prioritize your kids and they will not waste time on people who cannot and will not reciprocate! Don't spoil them with praise once in a while and ignore them the majority or they will seek that in a spouse without even knowing and those types will find them so quick and get their hooks in easy. Also, It is CRUCIAL to Treat your spouse the way you want your Kid's spouses to treat them! Role model it with actions and not just words or if you can't then get out of the way for someone who can if you want your kids to have their best chance in life.

    I know a lot of girls who's father's were the exact opposite and one of the most important stories I could tell is this one friend I had in middle school. We were around the same age(probably 15) and had similar interests so I went over to her house for the first time and the conversation led to talking about our families, she started crying after I told her that she deserves better and I asked if she wanted a hug, she proceeded to cling to me the whole time until I had to leave. She was so amazed that I actually listened to her and didn't get annoyed at her for being emotional and I'm 100% sure she would have done anything I asked her to if I had ulterior motives. So many girls don't know how to react when a guy is actually interested in their personal life or touches them in a non sexual manner (like a genuine hug) because they've never experienced it before and it makes them vulnerable to getting hurt or manipulated.

So now meeting new people and trying to have good relationships with guys I feel weird and literally don’t know how to act. Even tho We are both not interested there’s always that feeling that it can’t just be a friend ship. I will never do that to my daughter.

    As a teenager who's father is only present physically and very little emotionally, thank you. Your daughters will never know the pain of not being able to talk to or do stuff with their dad
    Edit: I am so very sorry to everyone who has similar experiences with one or both of their parents. I sincerely appreciate the kind words too. I know my relationship with my parents will likely not improve due to certain circumstances, but I hope all of you are able to improve your relationships with your parent(s), and if not then I hope you can find a father/mother figure to be there for you and show you what love from that certain missing person feels like. Thankfully I have a father figure in my life, he and his wife have taken me under their wings and treat me like blood, allowing me to stay over sometimes, work for them, babysit their biological daughters, have dinners with them, etc. I am extremely lucky to have found someone like that, and I hope all of you do as well. If anyone ever wants to talk, I'm always here 😊❤️

      I feel you. My father was the same way my entire life till he finally just left when I was 14. Which was the best since he was a narcissistic abusive ass but I’m getting away from my point. My point is even if he’s not there emotionally still just having a father even if he isn’t fully present is better than not having one at all. Trust me I know it sucks but it really is better than nothing. I really don’t like my father but honestly just knowing I had one even if I couldn’t come to him for anything it still helped.

      Maybe you can help me understand something. A bit of a story so bear with me. I have a niece who will be turning 16 in a couple months. Her father, my brother, committed suicide when she was an infant. She was adopted by a woman who was single so no father figure her whole life except my parents who could visit her a number of times over the years. My wife and I finally saw her this year twice. I was very happy to see her and I'm pretty sure she was happy to see me. I suspect and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe she very much wants to know me and is happy when I'm around because I'm the closest thing she has to her father. My wife told me she told her I'm more normal than my parents so I guess that's good lol

      @@madphatdopeyo742 i know for me it’s always nice having a male role model in my life and does make me happy because it makes me feel like for even a moment that I do have a dad. Whenever I see anything about a dad being happy with his kids it’s like a stab in the heart cause I know I never or will ever have that. So I’m sure when she sees you especially being the uncle it’s kinda like she is drawn more to you because you’re the closest thing she’ll ever have to a dad. If I could give you advice just please try to always be in her life as much as you possibly can. With everything I went through with my own father both before and after he left made me suffer really really bad depression even a few years later. So it’s made me push away the only father figure I have.

    😍 This is spot on! My stepdad raised me and I didn't have an involved father before him. He sent me Valentine's gifts to school and had 16 roses delivered to class on my 16th birthday. He took me out often, just me and him, to a nice restaurant or a movie and listened to everything going on in my life. He taught me I had value and to respect myself. I wasn't perfect, but I was not running around with boys like my friends. I wasn't looking for validation because I had that. My husband is wonderful and loves me the way my daddy loved my mama because he set the bar watching how he treated her and us. He's my guiding light because he didn't have to be, but I felt better about myself because he wanted to be my father, even if my bio dad didn't. He always treated me equally to my siblings that came after me, and I'm so thankful for him. That is what a father is, steadfast and constant! ♥️
