Hello, i'm coming this year at sgh, and wanted to know if you had to speak polish often or if english is enough for people to understand you most of the time ? Thanks :)
Oooo, nice 😊 I speak it for fun, but for sure you will be fine getting by with English! I’ve often introduced myself around campus places/with other students/teachers in English and never had a problem
Learn language of hosts. That will make you better person, richer with skills and contacts with local people. Easier to travel, to comunicate with all the people.
yes I agree. I’d also encourage it- It will enrich your experience. There is only benefit to gaining additional language skills and it will surely be appreciated by the local culture hosting - as is true anywhere…Of course, if you do not MASTER the Polish language after a year - do not be surprised 😂
@@PlexiGlasss you are great example that huge progress in learning Polish language can be achived just if you want to achive. Weak attempts , weak results. I think that you could have conversation with native Poles without biger problems. Your Polish is better than my English 🙂

Hi, Can I ask about financial support at SGH? My budget is quite tight so I wonder if SGH has some kind of financial support which is enough for me to stand by.
Hey! Of course. For information regarding financial assistance - specific to SGH, I would review the following page. In those sections of the website they also have contact information listed if you want to reach out to them and confirm eligibility for various grants. As you’ll see, they provide financial assistance for those with financial difficulties - and more can be requested in special circumstances (eg disabilities, outstanding academic achievements, orphanage, etc): ssl-administracja.sgh.waw.pl/en/dos/benefits/Pages/default.aspx Outside of SGH financial aid, there are of course scholarships for study in Poland (generally). I think this website gives a nice overview of some options - www.studyinpoland.pl/en/education/17-scholarships And this page/portal may also be a helpful tool for you - www.scholarshipportal.com/scholarships/poland (This is just what I’ve seen. Maybe there is more out there - but hopefully something in the above helps you)!
Have to disagree on this point :) foreign people offer more to Poland than just tuition money, and if the school sees you as an asset…enough to offer scholarship $$ even then why not ⭐️
Being a worker in Poland can I do study weekend based or not?? Being a full worker if I want to start my studies there in weekend based programme is this easy or not allowed? Please guide
Hi! Yes. There are weekend programs, but at my school these are only in Polish-not for the English programs. So if you are only considering party time weekend studies you may need to check other schools! 😊
Thanks! Glad it was helpful. As far as your travel plans, I believe this would depend on whether you are vaccinated and/or undergoing testing. I'm no expert but I've heard that the quarantine is still under effect for travelers outside the EU/Schengen area - UNLESS you can show that you were vaccinated, at least 14 days prior to arrival, or recovered from COVID in the last 6 months. If you were to arrive unvaccinated you will be subject to something like a 10 day quarantine, which can be shortened if you complete a test upon arrival (with a negative result). This stuff often changes, like everywhere, so I would monitor the Polish government site - this one is good: www.gov.pl/web/koronawirus/przyjazd-do-polski-spoza-strefy-schengen
Thanks for the very interesting tour! I’m glad you have your creative vlogging outlet to enjoy while most student activities are being kept on ice. I’m surprised that Poland, known for their more conservative, family-oriented political leadership, has still been so locked down. Student (and general) life here in Switzerland has had more freedoms. We’re fortunately not in the EU and don’t have to obey all of Brussels/Berlin’s mandates without first questioning their logic and exploring better responses. Opps, hope my little anti EU supremacy rant wasn’t too much. 🤷🏻♂️
My pleasure! Thank you for watching. It's been a great outlet. I'm glad to hear that you've been able to continue and enjoy life with more freedoms! I'm jealous. I will say that things returned to more levels of activity in the summer thankfully. :)
Covid restrictions are not subject to "Brussels regulations". The EU's member states are overwhelmingly independent of Brussels, including when it comes to their health policy. Together, they can negotiate prices and the number of covid vaccines they purchase, but that's about it. In February 2021, the largest wave of covid was rising in Poland, and its peak was in March - several hundred people died daily. Hence this re-lockdown. Each country decides on its own.
