Round 2 ▶ 10 Wrathwalkers, 10 Karax's Colossi, and 10 Warbringers vs 150 Slayers, 150 Stalkers, and 150 Zeratul's Stalkers
Round 3 ▶ 3 Kerrigans (Coop Version) and 200 Raptorlings vs 8 Zeratuls
Round 4 ▶ 10 Tyrannozors and 1 Dehaka vs 35 Spec Ops Ghosts and 1 Nova

This channel exists to document unit counters within StarCraft 2. Tya's Unit Tournament features epic battles between units in StarCraft 2, using music from the game's soundtrack. Units are chosen from Protoss, Terran and Zerg forces, or a coop commander such as Raynor, Nova, Artanis, or Kerrigan. Units will independently use their abilities, in a basic way. All units use Legacy of the Void stats, the same units you'd see in SC2 esports controlled by the likes of Serral, Maru, and ByuN. The resource beneath vespene is the unit's cost in the mod I run on the SC2 arcade, Direct Strike. Enjoy!

Damn, wise of the Stalkers to kill Warbringer first.
Warbringer didn’t have a choice, it had the shortest range of all the colossi (8). This is bad news bears when it also the strongest colossus.

o weird, I thought Warbringer would have the most range actually.
I was wondering why the stalkers didn't blink and survive all the time. In any other fight the Stalker's blink micro keeps them alive into low red health until the end, but not this time smh 🤔
@@Broockle the temporal thing warbringer has is a massive slow, it might also make their cooldowns slower, not sure on that one, also high damage, then there is purifier colossi that burn the ground and also deal high damage per hit, and then wrathwalkers, the worst vs masses of units, but still does 130.a hit, so if they do hit something, it will die.

3/4 today. Felt good about this one.
My predictions:
- Alarak (as soon as I saw the usual supplicants I was feeling confident on this one. Seems like confidence can be misplaced)
- Stalkers (the Zeratul stalkers cleaned up, though I think the Slayers would've done so too if the order was reversed)
- Zeratul (the aoe would've cleaved right through the lings, it was just a matter of time to see if their cooldowns would be up in time)
- Dehaka (I mean... maybe if there were more ghosts?)
I think that Alaraks could take this had they played it right. They are always charging towards main army first (here, they should target Fenixes). Also, late in fight, Alarak usually will focus on smaller groups - and that's a huge dps waste. With commander like Alarak, it's easy to see how badly AI plays.
I got your first two predictions the other way around
- 1. The moment I saw THREE Fenixes I knew Alarak would get his supplies cut off early
- 2. Kinder eggs go brrrrr...kinder eggs didn't go brrr :(
- 3. Yeah I don't think anyone's betting on Kerrigan to survive
- 4. Dehaka

@lunanasushistax6692 frankly Zeratul's ability saved him. He couldn't have brute strenghed kerrigan and the lings alone
That triple collossus vs triple stalker fight was awesome! Even if I did guess that fight wrong.

Finally, Alarak does not have to grow weary of carrying us to victory :) poor Nova though....Dehaka literally sat on her xD
4/4, I was actually really surprised how many the collosi managed to kill.
Also, that final battle was hilarious, watching Nova getting Mario stomped was the icing on the cake.
I figured Fenix would beat Alarak one on one. I wasn't sure with the Supplicants throw in the mix, but looking at the battle I can see why he and the Kaldalis team won. Alarak's Soul Absorption works best when there are lots of weak enemy units, not a small number of powerful ones.

I wonder why the stalkers have a very similar body to the colosus, by the way.
Maybe the old Protoss made the colossal design and then carried the design and tech into stalker?
Like how we made planes with landing wheels even though the wheel is an old tech?
Stalker will evolve into Colossus on level 36.
I think the Protoss split from the Nerazim before they created the Purifiers....
Protoss live freakishly long lives, the Nerazim remember living on Auir like it was yesterday even tho it was 10,000 years ago or something. So I guess the Stalker and the Collosie will have been built on the same knowledge. Tho Stalkers are much newer models. It's somehow implied that Protoss reached their peak in technology and somehow their science degraded over millennia.
I mean it can't really degrade as they can access all knowledge from past Protoss through the Kalah, but I guess they were rarely pushed to the edge of survival and didn't see the need to use their full expertise. They got careless.
And the Purifiers were built in a time when Protoss were a lot more ambitious and motivated.
So the Purifiers and all their tech is regarded as very pristine stuff.
But ye Stalkers and Colossi being similar in design makes enough sense at least. They got the crawly dragoons too.

ye but the Protoss that built the Stalkers and the Protoss (or Purifiers) that built the Colossi will likely both know about the Dragoons. So one can imagine their design had its influence.
Would have been funny if Dehaka targeted Nova at the start of the battle with his eating ability

@@oldboy8150 dehaka can't eat special heroes, blizzard just didn't bother making artanis a special hero, and i don't think odin is even heroic, let alone a special hero. (It's called Map Boss in the editor if i'm not mistaken)

The colossus vs stalker is the best fight ever, you should do more of those foghtes with 3 or more units

3/4 - voting against Alarak is so unnatural to me, that I forgot that in the end I voted Fenix LOL.
But I have to say, thatAlaraks did better then they should - considering how tanky Fenixes and Kaldalises are, and how terrible AI is while piloting them.
So did Nova - I Expected this to be spite in Dehaka's favor, yet she was able to put a decent fight and kill Tyrannozors.
Always glad to see Kerrigan owned, but always sad to see owned Collosi.
Nova herself with only snipe/blink is pretty bad vs singular targets.
Her spec ops ghosts are no joke, triple tap doing combined 370 damage or something, also 250 hp and 21 +18 vs light damage + no energy so dehaka roar doesn't disable them.
Pretty sure Dehaka didn't even need his buddies to win that one lol.
Spec ops ghosts with triple tap. Oh he absolutely needed his tyranozors to win that. 35 ghosts*170 damage=5950 damage, that would be without triple tap mind you (double that with triple tap). Dehaka had about 10/14 HP left at the end of the fight and since his HP was displayed at 3270 his total HP was at around 4500. So Even without triple tap and Nova herself the spec ops ghosts would still deal an overkill of around 1450 to Dehaka if he was alone, even devouring one of the ghosts would not be enough to survive.
@@timbo3286 pretty sure Dehaka win alone, just need jump and eat 1 Ghost (heal and the shockwave kill some Ghost) the Ghost don't have enough time to snipe their 3 shoots
Does triple tap even work vs single targets? (In the sense the extra shots)
But yeah, dehaka eat alone would heal 1500 hp, also flamebreath into devour would kill most of them, also. Jump
@@dimitarlinov2393 Devour doesn't actually heal that much it only heals 5% of dehakas max Hp per use, which in these fights is in the range of 4500-4700 (would definetly like the precise amount of essence he's been given for these fights) so for simplicity lets round up and say 5000 which would mean his healing is at 250 per devoured enemy.
About triple tap i do believe it works against single targets, i might be mistaken, but in any case it does not matter as i stated the 5950 is the damage of the snipe without triple tap, with triple tap we'd be talking about 11900 points of damage. So let's assume it doesn't work the 5950 damage, or 5780 damage as one ghost probably gets eaten before even being able to fire, is still greater than dehakas effective HP of 5250, or 5294 if you want to consider regen aura and his natura regen. Why have i given him 4 seconds of regen? Because that's how long it took all 34 ghosts in the video to fire all their shots, with triple tap mind you they would probably be done a sooner without it.
So in the best case, for dehaka, we're looking at a unit with 5294 HP that has to survive 5780 in the span of 4 seconds, which is completely neglecting the fact that ghosts can auto-attack.
@@timbo3286 base devour is 5%, devouring a biological unit (spec ops ghost) heals for 15% instead, i do 't quite remember what light does, maybe movement speed, and psionic makes an explosion dealing weapon damage and also lowering cooldowns, how exactly the lowering of cooldowns works i'm not sure, but eh, not the most important for the fight.
As for ghosts attacking, 21 damage vs 4 armor or something, + decreased attack speed because roar. So autoattacks will still hurt bum, but not so fast.
Really fun fights today! Had fun guessing today, and got 3/4, I was really rooting for Alarak against all odds lol

Why does nova never seem to use her holo? Seems a bit off. That said, zeratul doesn't get cloak, so why not let nova use her cloaked form and give other units detection or smth along those lines? Nuke would be an interesting ability to see triggered

How many Zerglings does it take to kill Zeratul?
I wanna see an army vs army shenanigans of a proper composition in Fenix vs Alarak. I Know that it'd be more fair if both sides had their racial equivelants in a good comp. Say, 1 Fenix, 50 centurions, 20 Purifier Adepts, 10 Fenix Immortals, 6 Purifier Colossi, 12 scouts, 5 Carriers and a single Clolarion vs 1 Alarak, 50 Supplicants, 20 Slayers, 10 Vanguards, 6 Wrathwalkers, 12 War Prisms, and a Single Taldarim Mothership.
It'd balance things out significantly, and it'd show who truly is stronger in a team.
It's clear you put in certain waves to absorb special abilities like snipe and such but that is a boatload of variables to the fight, couldn't you just adjust the waves and disable the skill in question(snipe in the case of my example)?
3/4 Forgot that Wrathwalker are single target. I guess if they would hit like the Purifier or Warbringer, they would win.
that last one would have been the same if it was just dehaka alone.
i've noticed that nova's units seem to consistently perform poorly in these videos. i feel like it's because they don't have defense drones - those things are absurd, and do a lot to give nova sustain.
I think that 50 or more ghost would be overkill; so, the magic number is, very likely, between 40 and 50.

Couldn't you put Warbringer in the second row? Because he had the biggest range of all 3 colossi and the most health, but if he died directly on the start, the other colossi would be powerless.

4. Yes he did need the tyrannozors. Dehakas HP is at around 4500, 35 spec ops ghost sniping, without triple tap, dealing 170 damage each result in 5950 points of spell damage, so not reduced by armor(and even if it were the armor is not enough to survive).

I thought 1 of Alaraks will survive, just like old times.
Well, Fenix / Talandar is a strong unit anyway.
Once the supplicants were dead, Alarak was toast.
4\4 this time. Doesn't happen often.
- Fenix vs Alarak. Fenixes give a ton of aoe and sustain. Whereas Alarak is a burst glasscannon. Fenixes will outlast.
- Colossi vs Stalkers. The Swarm is eternal. There are just too many. I think Wraithwalkers were the weakest link since they provided no aoe.
- Zera vs Kerrigan. The Cleave vs the zerglings? Yes please.
- Dehaka vs ... Who cares who opposes Dehaka anyways?
