- The anime "Macron 1" (GoShogun (戦国魔神ゴーショーグン Sengoku Majin GōShōgun ) used a very old and rare cover version of the song 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' by Tears For Fears as a track to their fight scene in the episode of 'Macron 1' called 'The ArmorX'.

Macron 1 made me love this song. The first anime I ever watched.
Now that's something else! That song is one of the most popular songs of the 80s! And to see it associated with an 80s anime is a perfect mix!
From what I remember, they used covers every now and then. I clearly remember them playing covers of "Electric Avenue", "Beat It", and "Safety Dance".
I do remember one episode of Macron 1 when I was very little and it had the music of Cruel Summer. I must find that episode again.
This is why I loved this anime

О как давно это было. У нас в России показывали по каналу 2*2 году так 92-93.Смотрели в школе на перемене с утра. Эххх.помню именно этот момент из-за музыки,понравилась тогда еще. Сейчас прям навеяло воспоминаниями.
А ещё песня была что-то наподобие мамама мамамакрон )))

The first cartoon I ever saw that used covers!! I remember this as well as another episode that used Tears for Fears' "Shout." Made the episodes so much more exciting!!

You know what for years i remembered macron 1 but funnily enough could never remember what cartoon had everybody want to rule the world in and google was no help. Typical i think to search it on youtube and within seconds there it is macron 1

This here is not a cover though. Michael Jackson's "Beat it", Phil Collins "Sussudio" is a cover but this is the original song just inserted into the episode.
