- Good news everybody, my copyright strikes have expired! I'm still going to post new music videos on my other channel, but I will now be posting the first 10 episodes of Macron 1 here. I will try to upload at least 1 episode a week.
In my opinion, this is one of the best openings to ANY 80s cartoon. I vividly remember that it instantly won me over, maybe because the last cartoon I had seen before it was Filmation’s Ghostbusters. Remember that cartoon? I picked a couple tapes of it up at a thrift store thinking that I was going to see the cartoon based on the movie (you know, the good one) but instead I got one of the dumbest cartoons I ever saw as a kid. The only good thing about that show was the music and the villains. With a little work, Prime Evil and his crew could have been worthy adversaries for the Real Ghostbusters. But I am very glad I got those tapes, because among the trailers on them there was one for this show. That’s right, if I hadn’t have picked up those tapes I might have never seen Macron 1. Because of this, I will always associate Filmation’s Ghostbusters with Macron 1. Something that further reinforced this connection was how in the Just For Kids sample tapes (which include one episode of the shows they released on VHS), they paired those 2 together. Ghostbusters was first, so I was like “Mom, can you fast forward through this for me? I HATE those guys.” But I’ll be honest; this would have been worth sitting through whatever stupidity they had in that episode.
This video was made using Windows live Moviemaker. I do not own Macron 1. The rights belonged to Saban initially, and I hope they still do. I am just a fan who wants to share the episodes until the show finally gets a DVD release. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน

When i was 7 I watched this cartoon but a little different, the helicopters came with the background music "beat it", and im now 40 too.

found this on vhs in a bargain bin, in poundstore 20 odd years ago, along with saber riders. i used to absolutely kick off when that tune came in
Aaaahhh, my childhood! I remember watching this as a kid and having the birthday episode of this on a VHS. I've been looking for this show most of my life and didn't know what it was called. I thought it's Macross because the name sounded familiar, but wasn't it. o.o

I swear at 7:20 onwards when she says ‘beat it’ was when the Michael Jackson song kicked in.
It may very well have been. The show played songs like Everybody Wants To Rule the World when it was broadcast on television. The episodes on my channel are all from the home video releases, so I assume that they edited the songs out do to licensing issues.

@@Dinobolt1 That is indeed what probably happened.. unfortunately! In your episode 15 part 2 of 2 at 4:42 you can still hear the beginning of the original Ghostbusters song. It made the series much cooler, especially with the mummies and stuff!😎

Ahhh I love the soundtrack to this show! But it has never been released and nobody seems to have access to it

3:50,I'm surprised they kept the death scene from GoShogun considering this is a Saban creation back in the day. If Power Rangers got this,they certainly CAN'T get away with it. 0_0
This pilot is different from the one I saw. I remember the song of Macron one's first fight was 'Beat it' from Michael Jackson.

I just checked it again and the sound is working fine on my end. Maybe it's because it's mono and it's coming out of the wrong speaker on your end? Sorry, but I don't know.

Are episodes 11-26 somewhere?
You can find episodes 11-20 on my channel. No sign of the last 6 episodes though. if you want to see them you're best bet is to buy the original Japanese version of the show called Goshogun on DVD.
Is this the Euro direct dub of GoShogun or the US version with two anime spliced together?
NVM is the American adaptation. ZZ our version was different to this which is why you remember the awesome soundtrack as I did.
Do you have the other episodes? After episode 10?
I have the first 20 episodes on my channel, I can't find anymore in English after that but if you want to see the series in Japanese the original anime Goshogun is available on DVD.

I guess the EU version was the one with Michael Jackson in it? I don't remember it ever being in the US version, but I remember the music at the 7 minute mark perfectly.

You are thinking of Saber Rider and the star sheriffs (aka Bismarck in Japan). That ship, Ramrod, was a spaceship that turned into a robot with guns on its chest.
