Just a small action can stop all these. According to the Fundamental right to privacy which stress on the phrase " Preservation of personal intimacy ". cases like this is a clear violation of fundamental right. Kindly file a writ on Honorable High court or SC. The court will instruct the state to provide the fundamental right to its citizens. Then it will become the responsibility of the state to stop any sorts of moral policing. If the police force fails to stop moral policing or if they themselves create moral policing it becomes condemn of court which will end up in disciplinary actions against the state. In current condition as no writ is filed and there is no law to stop moral policing the state and vigilant groups has no restrictions or fear of getting punished in performing moral policing. Kindly understand the borderline of obscenity and act of love. Act of love is permitted like hugging or kissing in public place. But obscenity is illegal in public place like sexual intercourse or displaying private parts.

Overall it was a good debate.
I think there is fault on the both sides.Police have no rights to obstruct/punish the couples who are roaming on streets without crossing the limits but at the same time some couples also cross the limits in some places like malls and public parks.They definitely needs to be charged under the law.Dont say that crossing limits in public is also privacy.There is a limit to everything.You cant cause disturbance to other people around you.There is a very small line between being romantic and being vulgar which everyone should be aware of

This debate is on protecting the privacy of people and I am very strongly supportive of that. But I don't know why all of a sudden this debate took a turn from privacy to obligation of the state to protect people.
One thing I would specially like to comment on what Shobhaa De ji said:
"The state is obliged to protect us."
Yes the state is. But what if the state fails to protect women? We can put all the blame on the state and the police and the rapists but what happened with the woman in concern can't be undone. It could only have been prevented, it can't be undone. So, if we have to take some steps in prevention, why not respect that? Why keep shouting things after an incident occurred? Why not take precautions so that the incident doesn't occur? You can very well label men as evil and hold them responsible for everything bad that is happening to women but that doesn't protect women. What protects them is a series of steps. These steps will take some time to change the society and for that time being what's wrong if one is advised to take precautions. And one must understand that state is not omnipresent like god. In most of the cases, police will appear only after the incident has occurred. So whatever the steps a state can take will only be related to post-incident situation. Here we should also be talking about what can be done pre-incident so that the least number of women get to face such wrath. What's wrong if I advise women to keep their pepper sprays? What's wrong if we ask them to be aware of the surroundings they are in? I mean even men have to be aware of surroundings where incidents of loot and killings are frequent. Although this puts a bit restrictions on us but it protects us in the long run. How much can we depend on police to protect us? Not always mam.
MORAL POLICING IS WRONG AND SPECIALLY THE KIND SHOWN IN THE VIDEO but we should not always be like "I am free, I can go anywhere, I can do anything, police must protect me". It indeed is the responsibility of the police and state as you say, but reality check, they are never going to meet these responsibilities. They have never been in any country. So doesn't this come upon us to protect ourselves to a large extent, at least up to what is in our power and potential?
AS A MAN, I WANT MY MOM, MY SIS, MY WIFE, MY GIRLFRIEND, MY DAUGHTER TO BE SAFE. WE WISH WE COULD ALWAYS BE WITH THEM TO PROTECT THEM BUT THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE. BESIDES THIS, WOMEN ARE EQUALLY HUMANS. THEY TOO SHOULD THINK WITH LOGIC AND TAKE PRECAUTIONS AGAINST WHAT CAN RUIN THEIR LIFE.
On an ending note, I would only like to remind you how frequently young girls are fooled into friendship by bad guys and later taken advantage of. That doesn't finish there. They make bloody videos and upload them on the internet. I keep busting such guys whenever I get to meet one. But you see I can't bust all such guys in the world. Plus how much can I enforce my precautions on the girl who wishes to be with that guy. And please don't take it as sexist, but girls do not listen to people in such situations and then get cheated badly. It hurts me, maybe many others like me, probably most of us. I could be called moral police for trying to protect them but that doesn't mean my intentions or actions were wrong. VIOLENCE HAS NO PLACE IN MORAL POLICING, I STRONGLY CONDEMN THAT.

As per Rahul Eshwar and his other esteemed panelist friends, Ramona should not have approached that immigration officer. They care so much about her that they would have counseled her to stay at home and not travel because there are perverted immigration officers.
i think v all are being over technical here.. laws and debate is not the solution to everything. i feel as indians v need to be well educated (morally), know our responsibilities and should know where to stop so as not to step on someones privacy.. and we desperately need to be respectful to other ppl for what they are, what they do and not judge them..
