Yes I live in Singapore and I love India so much I always hope to stay in India and settle there because there is really no place like India. My parents migrated to Singapore for financial purposes but I always want to come back to India. It's insane that there are people who are so bothered about a flag or people having a sense of pride for their country. I should be crying and raging right now because in Singapore it is a must for everyone to stand up for both the national anthem and pledge in school even if you are foreigner. We still do it without complain because we have appreciation for the country for offering us education and privileges. Nobody cares because they have better things to do but it seems like there are some people in India who have nothing to do but to complain over something that every decent human does.

These people should ask the children of the martyrs who have lost their fathers, I am ashamed that they are raising the question on Indian flag which the soldiers have given there life to protect it. I remember when I was a school student, our teachers in school explains to us the meaning of three colours in our national flag as: The Red (or Saffron) stands for the blood of the freedom fighters, the White stands for Peace & Harmony and the Green stands for Prosperity & Progress. I did not know when the Red became the Saffron of Hinduism, Green and White, the colour of Muslims and Christians respectively. Is that not a joke with the blood of our freedom fighters?

I can't believe that we are actually discussing this after 69 years of Independence. I have not seen citizens of any other country speaking against hoisting their own country's flag. As an Indian it concerns me to see where are we going. Our flag is the symbol of our sovereignty and shame on the people who give it a religious colour. We are proud of our men in uniform, securing our borders, because of whom we the people of India can breathe in a sovereign, secular and democratic republic and shame on people who have the audacity to question it.

I study in S.Korea and a Korean student in my lab always keep his country's flag beside his desk. I got that you want your university's flag hoisted in your campus. Incidents such as Shiv Sena throwing out Bihar workers out from their state who came all the way to Maharashtra in search of an employment, where some leaders of Telangana state say their state was not part of India even for today, extreme regionalism of Tamil Nadu shows still India is not united strongly as much as needed. So the onus is on every individual to understand the situation and do not bash whoever oppose the majoritarian idea.
The reason i called him a threat is this radical slogans which are internal to the country hurt India more than a external source of threat. A good example is BJP, which is using all the powers to suppress the voice of dissent. It is behaving as a autocrat and unable to tolerate the ideas which are not similar to theirs. I too oppose anti national slogans. But here it is from a student so one should consider his level of maturity and act accordingly.

To be honest .... it’s only after BJP came in power, we started accepting our nationality with pride. We started understanding the value of our soldiers and freedom fighters and their sacrifices only after we got a PM like Modi who loves his country.

I live in the US and the American flag is flown here at every school,university,college,gov't buildings and even private corporations like Mcdonalds which is not even required to do it. You won't find a major US store without American flags all over them. I cannot believe these people have the guts to say no to the Indian flag while Living in India and feeding off of India.

My Son is Elementary School in US. I see 4'th standard kids hoisting US flag every day. If 4th grade kids can respect and feel responsible the national flag. Then why can't university students and so called intellectuals can start debate saying the protocol may not be followed, there are rules when you hoist flag. So are the students who are mature enough to protest against Afjal Guru judgement, are incapable of respecting the national flag?
